We Love Fridays: The Split Decision Pie Pan
Some people are gaga for donuts, others for chocolatey treats, but give me a good old fashioned pie any day of the week.
There's just one problem: I'm terrible with deciding which kind to bake. That's why when I saw this "Split Decision" pie plate, I immediately put it on my Amazon wish list and spammed my husband's email with this happy piece of Christmas gifting intel.
This pan comes with a removable splitter insert so you can make two different kinds of pie at the same time--heck, try a quiche on one side and pie on the other for dinner and dessert in one!
You'll need to be careful about pairing comparable pie types and/or precook the filling for the half that needs extra bake time so that you don't have one side crispy and the other raw. I for one think it's more than worth the effort.

This is very cute and I do love the idea in theory, but I can see it being awkward to calculate two recipes in 'half' in order to fit the fillings in the pan. Plus there are time and temperature issues to adjust, which you do mention. Hmmm, I think I'd just rather make two whole pies and have leftovers. :-))
This is a great idea! It gives you the option of having more variety. Love it!!!
This is amazing! I'm always making at least 4 pies because everyone in my family has a different favourite, this would save a lot of time/ingredients!
That would be so great to bring to a family dinner or an event. You can bring more than one pie without cooking 2 different pies! So cool.

This is something I love to invest in.You can make any kind of pies and variety especially with Thanksgiving.
Lol that's a cute idea. I wouldn't use it because I'm too lazy to make one pie, let alone two, but I am definitely the indecisive type, so I can see why people would need something like this.
Now this is the coolest thing since sliced bread! Me and the hubby have quite different tastes, especially in pie flavors. An example, this time of year I live for Pumpkin pie, and he is always happy with a nice Apple pie. I could totally use this and think I will actively look for one, thanks!
This is actually a pretty good idea. It would be great for a person living on their own, or with one other person. |
