We Tried It: Cat Eye Eyeliner Stick-Ons

We've tried out fake lashes and we've experimented with lip tattoos, so it was inevitable that stick-on eyeliner would come our way soon! Sephora recently sent us a pair of their new Cat Eye Velvet Eyeliner Appliqués and obviously we just had to bust them out and try them to see how and if they worked.

They're basically stickers, made of a velvet material and embellished with rhinestones. They'll run you about C$8.00. They also come with a small bottle of glue for extra adhesion.

While you can trim them to fit your eye, I found that I didn't need to for my eye shape. After peeling them off the plastic, you apply them to clean eye lids (no shadow works best). They're fairly simple to apply but I found the inner corner of the liner really hard to pin down and I had to apply extra glue there. The one issue I had was I don't think the shape of the liner wouldn't fit most eyes. I had to fill in gaps with a black liner.

I'll admit I wasn't too keen on trying these out. I thought they'd look pretty ridiculous, especially with the rhinestones. But when they're on, I actually found myself warming up to them. Sure, they're not an everyday look, but for a special occasion or just for fun it's a really easy and fast way to get a perfect cat eye! I don't like that these are only a one time use type of deal. Eight dollars seems steep for something I might only wear for three hours. Plus, I can totally see a situation occurring when one falls off and I don't realise until the end of the night, which would not be so hot. While these exceeded my expectations, I don't think they are worth the trouble in the long run. I'll just stick with my liquid liner for now, thank you very much!

What do you think of this product? Thumbs up or down? Have you or would you ever try something like this?

I think they are great but I would be to worried about them starting to peel throught the day. It would be great for a dramatic night look or dare I say... Halloween! I think I will stick with my liquid liner for now....

They don't look as bad as I thought they would. But I totally agree with the last paragraph. You're really only going to wear them for a couple of hours and it would be pretty embarrassing if one fell off so I think that liquid eyeliner is the way to go.

They look great in Alexandra's pictures, but I wonder how they look in person? These would be awesome to wear for a girls night out...

It looks cute! I don't think it would be great for everyday wear, but for a night on the town - awesome!

They look great! But I'm with you on the falling off halfway through the night and not realizing part! I'd be checking in the mirror constantly with these on.
