We Tried It: The Lip Tattoo

A little while back, we posted this video: a first impression of using the lip tattoo. If you've never heard of lip tattoos before, chances are, you're looking dubiously at your computer screen right now and scratching your head, thinking 'lip....tattoos?'.
Yes, lip tattoos; and it's exactly what it sounds like. Remember those temporary tattoos you would play around with as a kid? They're that, but for your lips. Here's what they look like:

I picked up this pack at a Winners for around 5 dollars, but normally they will run you about US$9.99-14.95. There are three applications in one pack and they claim to last 4-8 hours. They come in a ton of colours and patterns, but unfortunately, there were slim pickings in the store where I was. Though, seriously? Glitter lips? There not many occasions in life where glittery lips are acceptable.

To use these, first you pop the lip portion out of the package. Then, you cut around the lines on the back of the lip tattoo to get a better shape for your mouth. I have a teeny mouth so it was kind of a pain to cut the right size.
The application is fairly simple, you basically do as you would normally if applying a temporary tattoo to your body. I'm warning you though, this is a ridiculous process. Mandy and I couldn't stop giggling. We had to document all the silliness for you so here's a photographic chart of how to apply these lip tattoos:

I have to give these lip tattoos a big thumbs down. They just aren't for me. I totally get the novelty of them. If I can, why can't someone else have a little fun playing around. But, they felt awful on my lips. You can clearly see the discomfort on my face! When it comes down to it, I suggest spending the $10 on a fun lipstick instead. But hey, for the amount of giggles Mandy and I got, I think it might be worth the $5!
Have you ever heard of the lip tattoos before? Have you tried or would you try them?

Eesh! Hell no. |
![]() | I think they would be fun for a one time thing, or a party...etc but certainly not an everyday wear. Thanks for showing me this product. |

I don't think those would be for me either. I can't imagine your lips still being soft with a temporary tattoo on them. |
