Weekend in New York City

Planning a trip to New York, but not sure what to do while you are there-- or even where to begin? With so much to do and see, it can be overwhelming. We have narrowed it down for you to some of our Big Apple favourites:
The Shopping
You can’t see New York without doing a little shopping – there really is something for everyone.
For the Recessionista:
Prepare to fight the crowds and score some name brand bargains at Century 21 or Filene’s Basement.
For the Designer Diva:
Take a stroll down one of New York’s most glamorous shopping areas on 5th avenue (between 49th and 59th street), where you will find Tiffany’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Saks Fifth Avenue and more.
For the Fashionista:
We recommend visiting the SoHo area for the latest trends. You can find some great style and some great bargains in this part of town. Top Shop is a particular standout.
Times Square
Broadway
The Landmarks
Join a “hop on/hop off” bus tour for an easy way to explore the many wonders of the city. Don't forget to make a stop at the bright lights in Times Square, the shining stars at a Broadway production and the serene nature of Central Park.
Re-live the moments from your favourite shows on the “Sex and the City” and “Gossip Girl” bus tours.
The ferry tour to the Statue of Liberty can have a long wait and is expensive. Instead, we recommend taking the free ferry to Staten Island for a great view of the Lady Liberty.
For spectacular city views, take a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge or visit the 70-story viewing tower at the “Top of the Rock”.
The Dining
Food is never boring in New York, so steer clear of your familiar chains and fast food. Check out the many dining options on the famous 9th avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. Authentic Italian food is easy to find on Mulberry Street in Little Italy.
