Weekend Movie Preview: No Strings Attached

Happy Friday! Feel like hitting the theatres tonight? This week the new rom-com "No Strings Attached", starring our girl Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, asks the classic question: Can two friends be bed buddies and nothing more?

Emma (Portman) has been burned too many times to count, and as a busy doctor has no time for a full relationship. Adam, played by Kutcher, has just gotten out of a bad relationship and is happy to be unattached. Predictably, they decide to become Friends With Benefits - no strings attached.

The script, written by Elizabeth Meriwether promises to be "unabashedly naughty, liberally laced with swear words, casual drug use and unsentimental horniness" says The Star.

Check out the trailer:

What do you guys think? Are you excited to see Natalie Portman in a romantic comedy after Black Swan?

p.s. Mila Kunis will be starring in her own FWB-themed flick this summer, called "Friends With Benefits". Interesting coinkydink, no?

Also, who makes these movie names up?  Come on.

Mike and I went to see No Strings Attached this weekend and we loved it! There was just enough romance, just enough comedy, and just enough sexiness!
Plus I was impressed once again with Natalie's acting skills, she transitioned flawlessly from drama to comedy.

It was definitely worth the gift card we used to go see it ;)

I love rom-coms!!! BUT, I always wait for them to come out on DVD.. I don't feel like they're worth seeing on the big screen.

I'd probably watch it on dvd but I wouldn't spend the money at the theatre.

@ Lauren, you're right - just for the sake of seeing how she handles a different genre it could be interesting!

Personally, I love Natalie Portman. I think she is one of the best and most versatile actresses out there, the more I think about it the more I want to see how she fares in a more casual role.

I think you have to be in the mood for a Rom-Com, you have to be ok with:

A) Knowing the plot before it starts
B) Hearing cliche expressions at least once every 10 minutes
C) Watching a story line unfold that could never happen in real life

And I think that's the type of mood I'm in for this weekend :)
