What do Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, and Ugly Betty have in common? You might answer "memorable fashion, for one" – and you'd be right. Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning stylist Patricia Field is the creative force behind those fashion statements, and now she's taking on an exciting design challenge with a product straight from your bathroom cabinet.
U by Kotex wants to Ban the Bland by letting Patricia Field give their popular feminine protection products an eye-catching makeover. We're talking just outer beauty now – the topnotch absorbency's not going anywhere (phew!).
Why should you care? Because YOU have the chance to collaborate with Patricia Field and win a trip to New York City for Fashion Week! Deets? We've got ‘em:
1. Visit BantheBland.com and use their neat online tool to put your inspiration to virtual paper. There are 3 categories in which you can enter – that's 3 chances to get noticed! You have until June 29, 2011 to submit your designs.
2. Return to BantheBland.com between August 1-24 to view the designs and vote for your favourites.
3. Winners will be announced in September and then flown to New York City to attend a runway show at Fashion Week. The new U by KOTEX products inspired by the winners and Patricia will be sold in stores across the U.S. and Canada.
Need an extra incentive to participate? For everyone who submits or likes a design online, U by Kotex will donate $1 to Girls For A Change – a national non-profit organization that empowers girls to create and lead social change within their communities. Plus, Patricia Field will be releasing a limited-edition designer carrying tin for your U by Kotex products starting this July at select local retailers. Covetable feminine products – who knew?
Will you enter Kotex's Ban the Bland contest? Let us know in the comments so we can vote for your designs if you're selected as a finalist in August!
