Winter Beauty Survival Guide: Skin Care

Posted by Alexandra C. | Tuesday November 13, 20126 comments

As soon as the cold wind makes it's first appearance of the season, my skin immediately reacts with a 'We're not ready for this, not yet! It's too early!'. Within minutes, my hands do a wonderful impression of lizard skin. And while snakeskin can be totally great in a pair of skinny jeans, scaliness is not trending this year in beauty.

To combat the dry, winter air, it's important to focus more of your skincare routine on moisturising, exfoiliating and keeping your skin hydrated. We don't want you to forget to give all of your body some much deserved TLC. So we've rounded up some great products to beat the dry skin winter blues for your face, body, lips and eyes.

has anyone used the Vaseline lip therapy cocoa butter? does it go on like normal vaseline does? or is it more chapstick-y?

(my friend swears by putting regular vaseline on her lips, but i haaate the feeling of it, grosses me out! but it did work quite well so was hoping this one specially designed for lips is thicker or something)

I can't live with out my Burt's Bees leg and foot cream through the winter. As soon as the heat is turned on my legs get so day and itchy it makes me crazy. Nothing helped me until I found this. I don't have any other favorite moisturizers for the rest of my skin. I use pretty much anything I happen to have on hand for the rest of my skin, other then my face of course.

My skin reacts terribly to winter too. I have had to start using neosporin lip balm to moisturize and repair my chapped lips. I have been using Simple moisturizer for my face during the day, and Biore overnight cream at night. Also after I take a shower I use Organix Moroccan Argan body oil to seal in moisture for my skin. I also get really dry feet, so I use Vaseline at night (under my fuzzy socks) to keep my feet soft.
