Would You Wear A Belted Swimsuit?

We totally get why Halle Berry wore a belt with her bikini almost ten years ago in Die Another Day, she needed to keep her knife close at hand, so the belt was purely for utility's sake. But what about us regular girls, the ones that don't swim with knives? Would you wear a belt with your bathing suit? If so would you opt for one you could go swimming in (like a suit from Marc by Marc Jacobs), or a belt that looks like it's made of deck-chairing only leather (like Lanvin's runway look)?

Belted suits on the Spring 2011 runways:

Lanvin, Salvatore Ferragamo, Michael Kors (images via Elle.com)

Belted bathers you can shop for now:

Michael Kors US$278.00, Rosa Chá US$390.00, Marc by Marc Jacobs US$164.00

Would you try a belted suit, or accessorize your suit with one of your own?

Depends on the size of the belt and the style of the swimsuit I think. It would of course have to be practical in terms of being able to get wet, and it should most definitely have some kind of inner pocket on it for important items. That's the only way I could see these making sense.

cant say im a fan.... belts should be left out of the water. As nice as some of them look they are also a little silly.

It definitely looks great on the runway but there are alot of things that can look great on the runway but don't really work in real life. This is one of them. When I go to the beach, I go with an easy-going and laid back attitude and outfit! The belt looks stylish but "style" on a beach is meant to be low-key, not over done. Think of Bob Marley Or Colbie Callait songs. That's the feel of a beach! :)

I think they look great on the runway but in reality would look like you're trying too hard.

I completely agree with TammyK. They look good ok, but I would definitely not swim with them let alone beach volleyball or making sandcastle with the kids. I need practical fashion and these do not spell "comfort" nor "convenience" to me.

Maybe I'd go for it if it was a soft belt made from the same fabric as the swimsuit...

I would definitely wear this! I'm with jskim07 the idea is brilliant, I'm surprised designers didn't started doing this earlier.
