Yay or Nay? Emma Roberts Red Carpet Style
At a benefit in New York for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund on July 30th, Emma Roberts stepped out in Leyendecker maxi dress. The dress features alternating horizontal panels of sheer and gauzy fabrics. She paired the long sleeve and form fitting dress with a pair of Miu Miu clog inspired sandals.
She kept her make up and hair simple and natural. Minimalist eye make up is off set with long lashes and a strong eyebrow. Her hair doesn't differ much from her usual look but I'm glad because it works for her! I like that her colour has high and low lights creating an ombre effect.
So far, I think this is one of Emma Robert's stronger looks. I like that the sheer panels are more mature, however the length of the dress keeps it from looking too tarty! She is keeping it fresh here and the white is on trend for summer. She is still young so I think playing around with fashion and finding her style is appropriate for her.
What do you think- yay or nay?

It's a YAY for me!!! | |
The one thing that realllly irritates me is- every time I look at her, I think, isn't she sweating up a storm? This photo was taken in New York about a week or two week it was hot then wasn't it??? Why isn't she melting in her long sleeved, maxi dress!?
If she was chilling with friends or on a casual dinner it'd be a yay. But as a red carpet outfit, I'm with tammy, it's a nay for me for red carpet. She looks a bit too plain jane washed out girl next door. And yea, it looks like something's missing. Maybe some colour? Her skin, hair and dress all are in the same colour family, makes her look sort of blah. Just my imo :)
Idk I think it's a nay for me. She looks cute in it but something's off. I feel like it doesn't give her much shape. But what do I know lol.
I agree with jskim07 - my first instinct was to say "Nay" but it's really growing on me. I think it's the length of the sleeves that's kind of throwing me off a bit? Also not sure about the chunky shoe - I might have preferred a more delicate sandal.
At first, I was going to say nay, but the more and more I look at it, the dress kind of appeals to me. Maybe it's the tight fit, with a long girly flow, and the stripes that got to me? I"m not sure. |
