Yay or Nay? Hilary Swank's Red Carpet Style
In theory, Hilary Swank's outfit at the premiere of New Year's Eve has everything that I love. She's elegant in a jewel tone shade and sophisticated with just the right amount of sheer and sequins. That being said, there is something holding me back from really loving this look.
I think it's the weird choice of sleeve. Tell me I'm not the only one who notices the bat wings? A loosely tied together bow at the waist over a sheer overlay, is not the best look. There is way too much fabric on her very athletic and slim frame. I really hate this because cut a different way, or even styled differently, this would be totally chic!
However, I do need to give a shout out to Hilary's hair and make up team- girl looks beautiful! I read some complaints on her shoe choice, but here I diverge, I actually really like them. They're interesting enough to make a statement but don't take away from the dress.
What do you think- are the bat wings blinding your judgement too? Is this a yay or nay?

I agree. The hair and makeup are gorgeous but the outfit is definitely a NAY. Not a good look for her or really for anyone in my opinion.
yuck...NAY!!! It makes her look so much older than she is!
This one is a YAY!! This type of dress sort of fits her style and body. Surprisingly enough, i think it suits her
I'm a hesistant YAY. I like it. You're correct about the sleeves being a bit much, I don't mind it. She is completely able to pull it off. She looks gorgeous! :)
Yay for me. Her dress reminds me of a beautiful starry night. Mind you, I don't think I can pull off what she's wearing but she looks great.
I'd try it to see how it looks on me... but for her, she looks good! The sleeves don't bother me too much.
YAY! I always love her simplistic elegance. She's always so poised
Nay, the dress would look a lot more chic on her if the cutting of it wasn't so simple.
YAY she is beautiful in blue! |
