Yay or Nay: Kirsten Dunst is a Checkerboard
Oh em gee. I love Kirsten Dunst. She's so cute and quirky and she was in the cinematic masterpiece known as Bring It On. I also love her because she wore a checkerboard dress from Louis Vuitton's Spring 2013 collection.
Our new co-op Melissa thought that this dress was hideous and did nothing for her shape. At first glance, you might be thinking the same thing. But I'm here to defend Kiki Dunst's choice because I love this dress. I love the neckline, I love the sleeve length, I love how it's a column, shift dress cut.
I know that you're probably all going, 'No Alex, it isn't love, it's lust. It's infatuation. Think about it a little while and look again, you'll see that it's actually super fug'. To that I say, 'Not a chance'. I'm especially in love with the fabric. I love that mustardy brown hue and the sheen of the satin. You guys it's true love, and true love lasts a lifetime.
Kristen Stewart, Kerry Washington and Jessica Alba are all fans of the collection as well (see here) but I still think Dunst worked it the best.
So, are you guys on Team Melissa or Team Alex? Is this totally awful or totally amazing? Leave a comment with your yay or nay vote by January 27th for a chance to win a prize!

WIN - but she needs a belt to define her middle more.
nay, it doesn't show her fabulous figure. Its just straight down and blinds my eyes, the checkers no, the colour is awful.
Yay/nay... I think it would actually be pretty and unique if it was a short dress, but at the current length it's too much. |
