If there's one investment we never regret, it's a winter coat. A coat that keeps out the chill with a vibrant hue (the neoprene orange overcoats at Joe Fresh made a huge impact on the crowds when they first appeared) or create a cocoon-like form that allows plenty of room for layering, like those designed by Jeremy Laing, Vawk and Lundström. The coats that felt freshest  were full...

Velvet is a fabric as rich in texture as it is in history—iconic designers who were known to use the fabric to dramatic effect include Vionnet, Poiret, and Fortuny. That nostalgia is seen in the velvet used by designers for fall, in the rich colours and draping and gathering. In the looks of Jeremy Laing and Chloé comme Parris, the textile's equally gothic flavour surfaces, all dark and...

For fall, fur vests were layered over cocktail and day dresses, tough leather, office wear and slinky velvet. So we're looking forward to a new Sunday night addiction in The Killing.

The premise may sound a bit...

The romantic feeling...

This week in Toronto, LG Fashion Week has been filling up our days and nights. We're not the only ones! Plenty of chicks turned up for the shows, and we were inspired by all the looks we saw. These three ladies had a playful approach to pattern and texture—from mixing polka dots and animal prints to flowers and stripes.

We love the classic silhouette and accessories (pumps and pearls) this...

This week on the Style Collective, we're getting DIY for home and head; we're looking at a cool design idea for making maximum space out of a small place and forming a book club of one on the couch; and when we head out to the store, we're going to be sure and bring a handy list of great, inexpensive beauty buys and look for a fuchsia lipcolour out of our comfort zone.

Ever picked up a...

As the cold and drying winter weather comes to an end and we move into spring, our skincare needs change. That heavy moisturizer is no longer so necessary, and the thought of lightening up on our base sounds as appealing as the sunshine that's becoming our new best friend. A tinted moisturizer is a great way to lighten your load, and most have SPF coverage making them three products in...
