Striped maxis made their debut on the streets this past summer, and celebrities like J-Lo, Rihanna, Paris Hilton, Gwen Stefani and Khloe Kardashian were quick to pick up on the trend.

We saw stripes in every cut and colour, though simple black & whites proved most versatile.

Forever 21 Striped Sleeveless Maxi ($23.80), Zara Wool Dress with XL Stripes ($69.90), Rachel Pally Santa Monica Midnight...

E-Label, an Icelandic fashion house is not happy with House of Deréon.  They are accusing Beyoncé of copying their leggings design.

First thoughts:

1. Yup, they look pretty much identical

2. We wouldn't be caught dead wearing them.

Would you?

Brooklyn jewellery designer, Carrie Bilbo, has taken raw-cut stones into the realm of cocktail rings.

The purpose of a cocktail ring is to stand out and create a stir, and Carrie’s design will do just that.  The ring is cone-shaped and comes in either a sterling silver, or 24-karat-gold-plated base. Carrie is using raw-cut sapphires in pink, yellow or blue to top off the rings. They retail...

One of the creepiest beauty innovations we’ve seen in a while - fly leg eyelashes. Yes.  Real fly legs that attach to your eyelid.

While grotesquely fascinated by the idea, our first thoughts were:

(1) this can’t be sanitary

(2) they don’t even look attractive

Have you been to Mark's Work Warehouse recently?  You might be surprised.  Shocked is probably a better word.

If you are a fan of clear bra straps you may be interested in their cousin, the Invisibelt.

The Invisibelt is a buckless belt that claims to give a slimming effect. It'll set you back $20 USD and is meant to be worn under fitted tops so you won't have any of that awful buckle bulge (I guess that is the slimming effect?).

Do you think it's tacky? Would you buy this?

Cynthia Rowley has added some pizzazz to shapewear with her newest collection, SLIM.

While the pieces are fun and colourful, it makes us wonder if "fun" and "colourful" are adjectives we really want to apply to our shapewear. Isn't the whole point of squeezing and wiggling your way into those skin cinching undergarments so that no one will know you needed any in the first...

Under the category of "what the...?" come these Jimmy Choo beauties:

These (admittedly gorgeous) heels not only look pretty swell, they also light up when you step! At an eye popping price tag of $2500, well goshdarnit, they'd better be pretty fancy.

(And here you thought only Buzz Lightyear sneakers could do that...)

Let's assume for a second you could afford this splurge....

When we first got wind of OPI's Shrek inspired collection Shrek Forever After, thoughts of swamp water green or earwax orange came to mind. Not that founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann has anything but impeccable taste, it's just... if the collection is based on farty swamp dwelling ogres it's hard to imagine it would be so fresh and lovely!

Here are a few of our favourites...

Do you like?...
