I've been meaning to purchase a dehumidifier because of a plumbing issue causing too much humidity to accumulate in our main bathroom. It was great timing that Butterly offered me the opportunity to be gifted this new 50 pint smart WiFi dehumidifier from NOMA iQ. The first thing I noticed is how light the machine is compared to previous models we've used from other brands. It was very easy to remove it from the packaging and I could lift it or roll it to the bathroom without breaking a sweat. I installed the NOMA IQ app on my android phone, created an account, and easily paired with the machine as soon as I plugged it in. The app is a great addition because it allows you to check the humidity level at any moment, as well as change the settings without even being in the same room. I didn't use it yet for the plumbing issue, but I still tested it for this review. I took a shower with the tub drain plugged to keep the water in and kept the door closed and the bathroom exhaust fan off, then I let it continue to fill about halfway. It got super humid in there and there was no way my towel was going to dry any time soon without intervening. I started the machine and it had a reading of 68% relative humidity. I set it to continuous mode with a timer of 2 hours (using the app). Within a minute, the reading was 66%, and 10 minutes later was down to 44%. After another 10 minutes I drained the tub. Next time I checked the app was 30 minutes after starting the machine and it was down to 32%. My towel was dry, and the mirror wasn't foggy. The room got a bit warmer because it was in a closed room, but it cooled down quickly after I opened the door. I'm super impressed!
PROs: light, works really well, very quiet (even in a small room), will stop when bucket is full (or can be used with a drain hose instead), convenient remote access and control through the app, Energy Star "most efficient" rating, good size for its capacity, connects to Alexa and Google Home assistants, will keep the humidity level between 30% and 80% based on the settings.
CONs: it's so light that it's difficult to align and push the bucket back in properly without the whole machine backing away (tricky, but easier if pushed against a wall or put a weight behind it), the top panel is very fragile (it ripped and let in a bubble when I removed a piece of tape holding the bag with the manual, really strong tape...), the "holes" used as handles to move/lift the machine are only on one side so it's unbalanced (having centered holes on each side would've been much better). Also, I'm new to using NOMA products so I'm not sure of its products' reliability and durability. I'm glad there's a 2-year warranty on defects in workmanship and materials. Generally, though, it's quite known that most modern/new dehumidifiers don't tend to last longer than 2 years regardless of the brand. But I'm hoping this one will prove me wrong and last a long time with proper care. The price of the machine ($250 on sale down from $380) seems lower than other brands too.
Overall I'm very pleased with the smart dehumidifier and would recommend it for someone who is looking for a lightweight and quiet machine at a reasonable price (smart and other features are just bonuses IMO). Thank you Butterly and NOMA iQ

If you're like me, you're looking for any hack or trick you can find to make your life easier and simpler. That also means maximizing the number of tricks an appliance can do (no more cupboards/counters packed with specialized kitchen appliances!!). Over the past few years you've probably also noticed air fryers becoming THE thing to have if you want "quick, easier, and cleaner meals", and that it might even replace some of your appliances like the stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven, etc. I was intrigued, but didn't buy one, yet. Recently, Butterly offered the opportunity to get a free air fryer for an unbiased review, so I thought "let's give it a shot". Life being busy and complicated meant I didn't open the box until yesterday because I felt a bit apprehensive, unsure how to use the air fryer without ruining any food (and resorting to ordering delivery...). I finally opened the box, read the manual multiple times, searched online for tips for newbies, and eventually I washed the basket and the insert grill, ready to try it out.
Last night's meal was partly made in the air fryer! Yay! And it went super smoothly!
Since it's only me and my spouse, we don't need to cook a lot of food for a single meal, so it's super convenient to have a basket size that's on the smaller side (compared to much bigger models), because it means faster cooking (less air to heat around the food) and easier/faster cleaning. As you can see in my pictures, I was able to fit 8 average sized frozen Janes turkey strips and not need to overlap them (apparently bad to do). On the flip side (pun intended), it was a bit difficult to flip them halfway through cooking because of the smaller basket. I did preheat the empty air fryer for 10 minutes at 400F to ensure even cooking of the strips. I didn't have to add any oil since there's plenty of moisture coming from the frozen strips themselves, and they came out flexible (not rubbery), semi-crunchy, a little bit of browning, as good as I could've expected. It was also super easy to wash afterwards with a bit of Dawn and water because the basket and inner tray are covered in non-stick coating. I've also seen convenient silicone and parchement paper liners sold online by third parties, so it's a very versatile appliance.
I was also very pleased with the manual that was included in the box. It had all the information I needed about the appliance, including the details for the preset options (if you don't want to use manual mode) as well as safe temperature and cook time for various types of food. The safety and 2-year warranty are also addressed. The only thing I'd like to have had is a volume control (+-, on/off) for the beeping noise every time a button is pushed. I think it's too loud for me (standing in front of the machine), and it might be for others if they're trying to prepare a meal while others are sleeping (even a couple of rooms away). I've emailed the company to ask if there's a way to change the volume, and I'll update here if they send me a solution.
Overall, I'm very happy to have had the chance to try the Vida by PADERNO Stainless Steel Non-Stick Air Fryer (3.8-L) and to share my experience with you. Thanks for reading my review! #thisisbutterly #gifted #freereview #unbiasedreview #airfryercanada #paderno #vidabypaderno #stainlesssteelairfryer
By the way, this is not a plug or sponsored by Janes, I just thought I'd share a real life/common food example and also help with understanding how big the appliance really is.

Seeing as I'm not getting any younger and my skin isn't magically rejuvenating, I jumped on the opportunity to try this Aveeno product for free through Butterly. My skin is typically combinaison (oily in T zone), but I get really dry in the winter. It can also be sensitive to some products (redness, rash, bumps, itching). This product is perfect for me (and affordable! and in pharmacies!🙌🏼). The Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser for Sensitive Skin is made without fragrances, sulfates, parabens, alcohol, and dyes, and has the seal from the Canadian Dermatology Association. In my experience, the lightweight gel/lotion-type texture was really easy to apply and rinse off, not sticky, didn't leave any residue behind, didn't cause any bad reaction, and left my skin fresh, soft, and soothed. After rinsing my face and patting it dry, I let my face air dry a bit more, and then apply my moisturizer.
Aveeno also chose to create an awesome super easy to use refill pouch! It says it offers 80% savings in plastic! It's quite refreshing to see a company find solutions to reduce their use of plastic packaging. What's even better is that the size of the pouch is the equivalent of 2 cleanser bottles! So you buy these 2 products and you have enough for 3 bottles' worth of cleanser, and reducing the amount of wasted plastic by 1.8 bottles. If the environment and reducing waste is important to you, you're going to love this product.
Note: I noticed that they say the cap is a twist cap, however the one I received has a little tab to tear off, and then you pop/flip the top open. Much easier to use than twist caps for those with issues like arthritis in their hands. I hope they decided to stick to the pop/flip cap.
Overall, I'm very happy to have had the chance to try this out and to share my experience with you.

I think it's an excellent cleanser, but I don't think someone should use it and expect it to act as a moisturizer, it's a cleanser. But it's quite pleasant to leave your skin just as-is afterwards if you're in a rush or don't use moisturizers.

My hands (let's be real, my entire skin) has always been extremely dry and cracking, feeling like Velcro all winter. Sometimes painful and will.not.go.away. Other creams (even Aveeno ones) can be nice feeling when first rubbed on but don't last, don't make a difference long-term or get washed off when washing your hands after going to the washroom (I pee a lot, so I'm tired of reapplying all the time). This cream was amazing from the first time I tried it. I was shocked. Super silky, soft, not oily feeling. It was feeling like I didn't have cream on, and that my hands looked great! No more Velcro hands in 10 seconds! It does have a slight tendency to leave residue behind like on my phone, but it's not huge. I just try to apply it when I know my phone is tucked away for a bit. It doesn't really wash away (!!!) and it actually retains the moisture so it's not going back to 0 every day. It's amazing.
The tube was a sample sent to me by ChickAdvisor for free, but this review is my own thoughts and opinion. The tube says it also comes with a couple other products in that same line and I'm super excited to try them too. I just hope that the cost is kept low, or at least as low as their other regular products. Thanks ChickAdvisor for making my Velcro hands disappear and making my 2020 winter less horrible!

I love the Liberte kefir drinkable yogurt. I love to take a big gulp in the morning before going to work to keep me going before I have a real breakfast at work. It's a good snack as well. I like that they also have organic versions (yummy raspberry!) and I like the regular strawberry version the best. I'm sad that I haven't been able to find it in my local grocery stores anymore for some reason. -

I had laser eye surgery last year and I've started to get dryness at night while I sleep and my eyelids sticking to my eyes... not nice at all. I tried different eye drops, then moved on to gels and this one is great! It does make it blurry after putting it in, but I only use one drop and then go to sleep. I do recommend it if you have night dryness issues. -

I only started using floss recently (gingivitis alert...) and I hated to floss before because the floss I had would cut between my teeth and make me bleed. A coworker recommended this one and gave me a bit to try. It was amazingly smooth and didn't hurt at all! I've been using it at least once a day for the last year and it's been great and even reversed my gingivitis! I really recommend this floss. -

I discovered this product when looking for a cleaning product to clean my fiberglass tub. I only had abrasive stuff for my old steel tub and I was looking for something that would work, without damaging my new tub! I tried a bunch of tips and tricks from online and family, but then was recommended this Vim cream and tried it and was blown away. I won't even try anything else now! I just wish the bottle would be bigger for the price, as the bottle lasts about 3 tub washes (I'm a bit generous with the splashing around). Strongly recommended! -
