Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E is a long-lasting moisturizer that locks in moisture all day long. It's excellent for use on rough areas of the body that need more than just lotion. I use this product after showering to minimize the appearance of any blotchy areas, stretch marks, or scars. I use it on my feet to prevent dryness and itchiness especially during the winter months when my feet will likely be trapped in boots or other kinds of confining footwear. Few things are more irritating than dealing with the harassment of a dry, itchy foot on a cold winter day when you're driving or handling business and unable to get to it. Instead of whacking it on something and possibly breaking a toe, I use this product to prevent the occurrence of such an unfortunate predicament. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula smells so indulgent, you might think about eating it, but it wouldn't be a good idea. Whenever I apply this before going out, no joke: I get the same reaction from both people and insects, as a result of their attraction to its fragrance. But other than the issue of swatting off bugs, I give this product very high ratings for its exceptional functionality. The vitamin E is also a nice touch that helps to immaculately heal and rejuvenate. -

The Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil shampoo works well for my hair type. My hair requires a lot of moisture and love in between styling, and this shampoo is noteworthy because it gives it that. Because of the moisture-rich formulation (containing highly emollient ingredients like Jamaican black castor oil and shea butter), I find that if I have a fair amount of oil-based styling products in my hair upon shampooing, two treatments are necessary. The first - to clarify (requiring more product, and will not lather much), and the second - to thoroughly cleanse the hair and scalp (requiring less product, but will lather more due to clarification from the first wash). If I have a small amount of oil-based styling products in my hair upon shampooing, one treatment is all that's necessary. After washing, my curls become completely defined and my scalp feels restored. This shampoo by Shea Moisture is an exemplary natural hair care product with oils, botanicals, and extracts that make me feel good about what I'm applying to my body. The fragrance is divine and it makes washing my hair such a pleasant experience. As a result of using this product on a regular basis, I have seen a dramatic improvement in the health and growth of my hair. -

This cleanser/mask by Neutrogena is great for many reasons but it does have its minor flaws. Due to its high strength, I only use this when I have a crazy breakout that won't go away and needs some tough love. The benzoyl peroxide zaps acne fast and puts it in its place. I use this product mainly as a mask. In my experience with applying it this way, the menthol ingredient does have a major effect on the eyes, causing them to become irritated and watery. I haven't found a solution for this yet. So far, all I can come up with is keeping my eyes closed as much as possible until the product dries. I'm sure the menthol is supposed to serve a purpose in some way perhaps as an analgesic to calm irritated acne, but it actually behaves as a counterirritant that does that while causing my eyes to water. Part of the purpose of doing a mask is to relax as well, but I can't do that with this mask. It's too strong. It should be marketed as a spot treatment (to be used in small amounts directly on troubled areas) as opposed to a cleanser/mask for the whole face. A side effect of doing so is that it leaves my skin feeling very dry, and further skin care is necessary afterwards to restore moisture. Overall, it does cleanse the skin and pacify acne, but there are some side effects due to its intensity. -

This invigorating facial scrub by Garnier is necessary in my facial skin care regimen because it does so many wonderful things. It exfoliates and renews my skin, it cools and refreshes with the peppermint and jojoba combination, and it moisturizes as well. My skin feels very well balanced, not dry, afterwards which is a plus for me because I have sensitive skin that requires a certain level of all around care. This product does so many things in just one application that makes it convenient and well worth it. I have no complaints. The smell is so good too! You have to smell this product. It's my favorite facial scrub to use any time of day. It is on point. -

The Aveeno Moisturizing Bar for Dry Skin is a miracle product for anyone with eczema. As someone who has struggled with this skin condition all of my life, I keep this product on-hand especially during the summer months when skin can start becoming unruly. The colloidal oatmeal -- which is a primary ingredient in this formulation -- does an excellent job of preventing flare-ups and immediately eliminating inflammation and itch. Application is extremely simple. I lather it with warm water, apply it to problem areas, and rinse. It is hypo-allergenic with no added fragrances or dyes, and it works perfectly for me putting my skin and my mind at ease. Thanks Aveeno! -
