I received the SCHWARZKOPF ROOT RETOUCHER in the dark brown shade from ChickAdvisor to try for free in exchange for my honest opinion and I really enjoyed the results. I have naturally mousy brown hair and have been dyeing it dark since I have had my own money and was able to get it done. As anyone who dyes their hair knows, that %$#! is expensive and the upkeep is demanding! I usually go get a root touch up every 4 weeks on average which usually runs me about $100 bucks each time. I have seen root touch up products in stores before, but oddly enough, have never purchased them! Well, thanks to ChickAdvisor.. that all changed!
The salon I get my hair done at actually uses Schwarzkopf dye so I was happy that the product was a salon trusted brand and was a good quality product. The Root Re-toucher is a new product by them which claims to easily disguise your natural hair color in seconds. It claims to 100% cover light and grey regrowth in an instant and washes out after one shampoo! My thoughts? well...
I used it three days before my regular 5 week root touch up - so my roots were BAD. First I wanted to read the directions but I couldn't find them anywhere on the bottle?! I don't know if I am blind or if they weren't there but either way I managed.. I did notice it said 'shake well' on the can so I made sure to do that and then I sprayed away! It has a smaller applicator that is good for precision spraying which I really liked. It was easy to spray on without error or wasting product in places that did not require any color. At first when I sprayed I was a little baffled at how little coverage it gave but then I realized that as the product sits it actually blends more and does a great job of covering the light areas. Again, I wish this would have been on the bottle as I feel like I wasted product by excessively trying to cover my regrowth. After about 3 minutes my roots were much darker and you could hardly tell the difference. My hair is DARK brown and I almost wish I would have chosen the black color to try instead of the dark brown. The color matched good, but it was not a perfect match. In certain lighting and upon examining up close you can still see the shade difference. The product is also a little bit messy so be careful about wearing light colored clothes when applying. I managed to get this all over the sink and bathroom counter (It came off easy right away!) and all over my forehead... oops. I mentioned before that the slim applicator was awesome, and it is! It's the after drips that get everywhere and make the mess.
The product is not yet available in Canadian stores so I can't say whether or not the price on this product is worth it. I would probably pay around $15 max for this product as I feel like you won't get the 25 uses it claims. It does a great job of covering light/grey roots and is extremely easy to use. It washes out easily and does not irritate the scalp. Other then being slightly messy and the color not matching 100% I feel like this is a fantastic product for root touch ups in-between salon appointments and I will most likely purchase this in the future. If you have root problems and don't like spending the money every 3 weeks to get a touch up, this is a great option for you! But be careful, its messy!

I know the SMASHBOX PHOTO FINISH FOUNDATION PRIMER IN CLEAR is a cult favourite among beauty artists everywhere but I don't see the hype of this product. I have combination to oily skin and was so excited when I did my research and found that this product is great for all skin types!... wrong. It did not help my oily skin at all and I found that I had to blot and re apply powder much more throughout the day then I normally do. My face felt heavy and sticky and the product lasted for maybe 5 hours. It's winter time to boot so I can imagine that it would last even shorter time in hot weather.
It did help with the visibility of pores and fine lines in which the primer did help them become less visible and my makeup was really easy to apply. The primer honestly feels 'silky' which is really nice I just wish it had more lasting power and did not bring out the oils on my face. I also love the addition of vitamins A & E which is supposed to help you from stress, damage and etc.
Overall this product isn't terrible but I would not recommend it to anyone who has oily skin. For those with dry or normal skin I think it would be a game changer!

I absolutely love OCEAN SPRAY 100 % JUICE BLEND CRANBERRY CONCORD GRAPE! I bought it on a whim as I wanted to try a new flavour of Ocean Spray drinks. Ocean Spray is the best cranberry juice brand hands down because the taste is amazing! The concord grape addition makes a fantastic product pretty much perfect!
The cranberry and grape flavours go so well together and one does not overpower the other. I love that the taste is not bitter like many other cranberry juices can be. It is 100% juice with NO added sugar and NO preservatives. There are two fruit servings in one cup as well and it provides 100% of your daily vitamin C. I would recommend this product to everyone!

I picked this up the International Delight Double Double Delight in the grocery store yesterday as it was new and I am a huge fan of both the International Delight creamers and Double Doubles from Tim Hortons! I knew it probably wasn't going to be as good but my fingers were crossed.
I was sadly let down. It kinda just tastes like cream. It's not overly sweet or overly anything. It's very plain. You can also only buy the product in the large size (946mL) in which they don't have them in the smaller bottles. I will stick to my regular International Delight flavours of Cinnabon and French Vanilla. Yum!

I received the DR. BRANDT MICRODERMABRASION as one of my Sephora samples and I am hooked! I had acne as a teenager and well into my 20's and I have a tiny bit of scarring and discoloration which I am super shy about. It is very very rare unless you know me extremely well that you will see me without foundation. I have fiddled with the idea of microdermabrasion but the cost is just something that I can't see to get past. I have tried pills, creams, and other procedures but nothing really seems to help. Then entered this little miracle.
I use it in the shower once every 4 days and put a small amount on my fingers and then gently rub and exfoliate in circular motions on my face. I count for about a minute and then wash off. So easy! It leaves my face feeling so smooth and my makeup application looks FLAWLESS from the removal of dead skin cells. My redness and scarring looks so much better and my pores are much less noticeable. I still wear foundation everyday but I put on only one layer now instead of two - and it's only been a month! I honestly can't believe how big of an impact it has had on my skin already.
The only downfall is the price in which a bottle of this will run you close to $100. For me, it is worth it! Awesome awesome product!

I always 'knew' the importance of a top coat, but frankly, im lazy and most nail polish takes forever to dry so I usually skip that step. Oops.
Top coats are important for manicures because they give a finish, harden nails, and sometimes can help even out brushstrokes for a better looking manicure.I applied one coat on top of my base coat and color which was easy and smooth to apply. The product dried much quicker then I thought it would in which I timed it at approximately 3 minutes. A little bit goes a long way and one dip in the bottle was almost enough to cover one hand. I really liked the finish, it added a little bit of shine but nothing too crazy or blinding. It was just perfect.
Over all the topcoat is important to seal and protect your manicure and I think it does a fantastic job of that. I only did one hand with the topcoat and that hand was less prone to chipping and breaking. The hand without the topcoat only lasted two days before I received a chip on the hand with the topcoat lasted four. The hand with the topcoat only has one finger nail chipped and it happened right after I did the dishes. All the other 4 nails still look incredible. On the hand without the top coat all 5 nails are chipped. When it came time to take off the nail polish I had no issues and everything came off easily and painless with nail polish remover and a paper towel.
Overall a top coat IS important in a nice manicure and this one is a fantastic option! I had less streaks and chips when using the top coat and my manicure looked amazing!

I applied this product on one hand with the base coat and top coat and on the other hand with just the product alone. Lots of nail polishes don't come with the option to purchase the brands base and top coat and many people don't use the other products so I wanted to give an insight into how it works alone as well!
The product has a beautiful smooth application and you get fantastic pigment with just one coat! I applied one coat to the product with the base coat and ended up applying two coats to the hand with no base. The product without a base coat is quite streaky and uneven so two coats is a must is using it alone. It dried SO quick! I left it for 5 minutes and that was perfect. I did find that the lacquer was a little thick and it seemed like I had to use more product then usual but I don't mind as I am happy with the product and the finish! I received so many compliments on my nails and the color held so well. The color lasted 4 days with no chips on the hand with a base and the color lasted 2 days with no chips on then hand with the polish alone. The polishes are a great price and the color selection is AMAZING.
I would recommend this nail lacquer to anyone looking for a bold and fun manicure! It dries quick and looks amazing! I would also recommend purchasing the base coat as well as the top coat with it as this isn't a great nail polish just by itself.

I received the CND CREATIVE PLAY BASE COAT to try for free in exchange for my honest opinion from ChickAdvisor and I think I am hooked! I always 'knew' the importance of a base coat, but frankly, im lazy and most nail polish takes forever to dry so I usually skip that step. Oops.
Base coats are important for manicures because they improve adhesion of the color coat and they prevent nail staining which this product did a great job of! I applied one coat which was easy and smooth to apply. The product dried quick (3 mins) and one dip in the bottle was enough to cover one hand. It applied evenly and was more thick then thin but was the perfect consistency.
I used the product on only one hand combined with the color coat and top coat and on my other hand I only applied color. The hand with the base coat lasted 2 days longer then the hand without and chipping, when it did occur, was much less noticeable! The hand with the base coat also had more even color distribution and far less streaks. It also came off super easy with nail polish remover and a paper towel! The fact that this product contains no Formaldehyde is also a big seller for me!
Overall a top coat IS important in a nice manicure and this one is a fantastic option! I had less streaks and chips when using the base coat and my manicure looked amazing!

I received the MAYBELLINE NEW YORK BROW DRAMA SHAPING CHALK POWDER to try for free from ChickAdvisor in exchange for my honest opinion and I ended up loving this product a lot more then I thought I would. I have the lightest brows ever - they are literally non existent without makeup - so I have to fill them in every single day. I have thought about microblading but the thought of a tattoo on my face scares me and its quite pricey. So, I have been on a decade long hunt for an easy to apply brow filler that's cost effective and efficient. I have tried everything from pencil to gel to creams but until this product I had never tried a chalk filler!
I just want to say that I did use the Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil with this product in order to shape my brows but that was the only other product I used. I wasn't really sure what to expect or how it was going to look but I shaped my brows and then dug right in - it was SO easy and so seamless. The product literally masks your brows so perfectly and a little goes a long way. I was able to do both my brows without having to dip the brush back into the can for more product. The pigmentation is also incredible. I received the color 'Deep Brown' and I am impressed with just how deep it is. I like dark brows but I maybe would have gone a shade lower next time. The wand is a soft touch applicator and is great for the thick spots on the brows but I definitely needed the pencil for shaping and for the tail. The instructions say just to flip the applicator on it's side to do the shaping and tail but that didn't work for me... maybe I just need practice! The chalk definitely gives a more natural look which is fantastic!
The only thing that was difficult about this product was that I did end up getting product on my face somehow. I think the product being lightweight makes it easier to fall off. This was ONLY on application though and throughout the day I did not notice anymore on my face. I could also just be messy LOL but it did happen every time. Another small thing is that I did find that a spool brush is needed in order to get the patchy spots to be even. It's not a huge deal but I like my brows to be as even as possible so this was a personal thing that I liked to do after I applied the chalk. I would recommend this product entirely and I will be purchasing it in the future!

I received the MAYBELLINE NEW YORK BROW PRECISE MICRO PENCIL from ChickAdvisor to try for free in exchange for my honest opinion and I really liked it! I tried the product in Deep Brown on my naturally really light brows (non-existent with no makeup!) and it did a great job!
The tip is super tiny at 1.5mm so it was really easy to do a precise job and get an accurate shaping. The grooming brush is awesome as well as it helps distribute the color evenly and I love that this was included on the end of the pencil. The color "deep brown" is a little deceiving as the color was not as dark as I thought it would be but it is a great color anyways - more like a medium brown. This product would be great alone for someone who has naturally dark brows with gaps that just simply needs shaping and low maintenance filling. For someone like me, another product is necessary so I paired it with the Fiber Volumizer that I also received for free from ChickAdvisor (ITS AMAZING CHECK MY REVIEW!). The pencil is great for shaping as I mentioned but it would take far too long and too much product to do my brows completely with it alone. I'm not sure if I was pressing too hard or if the product just gets used very easily but in doing two brows I did have to turn for more product three times so I hope that I don't run out too quickly. Overall a fantastic product and I would purchase again!
