I have combination skin in that parts of my skin are dry (around my nose), and parts of my skin are oily (cheekbones, forehead, chin). I also have really terrible puffy purple circles under my eyes, so I bought these from Sephora when they were on sale to try them out. The package recommends using them only once a week. I use them Friday nights after the work week is done. I leave them on for 10 minutes like the instructions say and I do feel like my under eye area is cooler and tighter after I remove these pads. My undereye area is definitely not as puffy. However, I haven’t noticed a huge decrease in dark circles. This is packaged as a large bag containing 8 individually packaged under eye gels. One of the individual packets I received came dried out (there was a hole in the packet I think) so check that because the pads won’t stick when you use them (Sephora customer service was wonderful when I called in about this). Overall I like the product but would I spent another $33 for 8 packets? Not sure. I might try other brands first to see how they compare to this. Skyn is cruelty free though, so that’s an added bonus to this company. -

I bought this palette at Winners after seeing what it looked like and I was so excited because I really thought I had gotten a deal on a stila palette. I got home and was trying to work with the palette, and I just couldn't get any pigment on my eyelids, no matter what I did. The shadows feel chalky and almost granular, and there is so little pigment payoff for all of your work, it isn't worth it. I spent nearly half an hour trying to get one colour to show up on my lids (the bright blue colour, which I thought would've had the most pigment) and in the end, I gave up! I was so frustrated and disappointed! I have other stila palettes and they're incredible, so pigmented and so easy to apply. I don't know if I just got a bad batch or if this palette just isn't worth it, but buyer beware on this one! -

I bought this during DAVIDsTEA summer sale and it was definitely worth it. I love the Magic Dragon tea so I decided to try for the lip balm to see how tea-infused lip balm would be. So far, I love it. It smells great, and I find it’s been a huge help during this cold, bitter winter. It’s not medicinal like Blistex, but overall, not bad. No pigment, just a nice scent. Applies really well, it’s aptly named “lip butter”! DAVIDsTEA is cruelty-free and this product is vegan! -

I received a sample of this through Sephora and yes, I do find this a more expensive moisturizer (I'm a student!), however, I will say that it's really wonderful. I do suffer from oily skin and breakouts, and I have found that philosophy products have been great to me, and this moisturizer is no different. Very hydrating, and soothing to my skin - it makes my skin feel cool, tight and refreshed. I used this after cleansing my face - it does tingle a little bit when I use it after using an exfoliant, but nothing painful. Unfortunately, philosophy has recently changed their stance and now test on animals where required by law, so while I used to love their products, I cannot in good faith purchase from them again. -

I will say that I got this full sized product from GenBeauty when they were in Toronto, so I have never bought this - HOWEVER, while it may be a bit more expensive, I LOVE this moisturizer. I used it every night after I cleanse and tone my face, and honestly, my skin loves this. It smells a little bit like oranges, and I love that - derma e is also cruelty-free so that's a huge bonus for me. You don't need a lot of product for your whole face, and it isn't thick. I found this has been really great for my skin, especially during the winter months, my skin looks brighter and doesn't feel as dry as it has in the past.

I have tried so many different eye primers - Smashbox, Too Faced, Urban Decay, etc. While they're all really good, I have to say I think TheBalm's might be the best. They are a bit more expensive because, again, I can only buy them at Rexall near me, but this primer is so worth it. It's so thin, it applies so easily, and you need VERY little product to cover your entire eyelid up to your brow line (if you want to apply shadow up to your brows). I bought one tube of this primer in August of 2017, and I'm just running out of it now, in February 2018, and I used this primer every. day. If the eyeshadows are NOT glitter shadows (I really recommend Too Faced's glitter insurance primer for glitter shadows!!), I 100% recommend this primer from TheBalm - no fallout, no creasing, it's not sticky and there's no smell. TheBalm is also cruelty-free, and their packaging is retro-chic, like pin-up style almost. VERY cute. -

So I received a sample of this in my ipsy bag and to begin this review, I just want to say that I do NOT have sensitive skin - I have used hundreds of different products on my skin and gone for dermatological acid skin peels, so my skin is definitely not sensitive. However. I used this product for the first time, and my skin felt like it was on fire. I thought at first it was just a tingle, and I thought the product was just "working its magic", but then it became painful, so I quickly washed it off. My skin was so red and puffy and hot, it looked like I had gotten a major sunburn and my skin hurt to touch. I gave the sample to my friend who loves GLAMGLOW products, but for me? Never again. This could work for you - apparently GLAMGLOW is more geared for those with cystic acne? But maybe get a sample first before buying the full thing, since this brand is expensive. The brand is also NOT cruelty-free, but even if it was, the reaction my skin had to it makes it a no-go for me. -

Okay, so I will say that I adore Ciate and I really do like this liquid eyeliner - it applies so well, and the colour is so pigmented, I really do like it. The price isn't terrible, but if you're a student like me and use liquid liner every day, it can get pricey to constantly replace, in comparison to a more affordable brand like Nyx. Ciate is also cruelty-free, so it's a great match for me. However, I do find that sometimes, after a long day, I have transfer/smudging onto the crease of my brow bone - at first I thought it was my eyeshadow, but then one day I was wearing light colours and knew it was actually from my liquid eyeliner - so be aware of that, that's the only reason I gave it less than 5 stars. It doesn't happen every time, so it could be just that some days I'm sweatier than others. -

I was a little hesitant to buy this palette, because it was pretty expensive (~$69 from Rexall, since that's the only retailer by me that carries TheBalm products). I decided to try it, because I've received samples of their eyeshadows and loved them, and my best friend recommended this palette. Long story short, I have no regrets. This is my go-to palette for a neutral look - the colours are very pigmented, you need little product to create a beautiful look, there are both shimmer and matte colours in the palette. They apply so well, there's no fallout and they blend perfectly. The packaging is also really fun, very retro/pin-up style, which I think it really fun. -
