This is the best invention ever. Despite successfully breastfeeding my son for almost a year, I've had a hard time with my little girl because (and forgive the TMI), she's been chomping on my nipples like a chew toy. In a matter of 3 days I got to the point where both were cracked and bleeding. These shields have been a huge lifesaver. They help ensure baby gets the correct latch without causing any further damage. In fact, using these gave me enough time to heal so I can now nurse without them.
The instructions advise you to use them for the first 15 minutes, then take them off once baby has the proper latch. This works well, but I found that using them during the whole feeding worked really well while I needed time to heal. I also used coconut or olive oil to act as a salve in between feedings. It only took a few days of doing this to get rid of the cracking and bleeding. And it was significantly less painful to feed her.
One thing you have to watch for is buying the right size. It needs to fit the diameter of your nipple so you might want to measure that before heading to the store, or look at the size of breastpump you use and base it on that.
Huge lifesavers. Worth every penny.

This is from a new line that will be in Sephora starting in August. We got a few samples at the office and I tried the eyeliner. I really like it! It's very precise, doesn't transfer to the eyelid and stays put all day. The packaging is nice - it does feel like a luxury product. But it's $36, which is more than I'd typically pay for an eyeliner. If you are a big Marc Jacobs fan the price probably wouldn't hold you back. Overall a great product, just on the pricey side. -

This falls under the category of expensive but worth it. We got some samples in the office to try and I've been using the cleanser for a few weeks. It's a foam cleanser that smells like a subtle combination of cucumber and rose. I find it very effective at taking off makeup, including mascara without drying out my skin. I absolutely love it. At about $38 it's not cheap but if you want to treat yourself it's worth the splurge. I would definitely purchase this and am now curious to try other products from their lineup. -

I've been going to Sweet Flour for 2 years now and it never disappoints. They make custom cookies that you can either order one at a time with your favourite mix-ins (think Coldstone Creamery but for cookies) or you can choose from a freshly baked assortment of cookies, cupcakes, cookie cupcakes and other delicious treats. They use organic ingredients and also make espresso based beverages like a regular cafe. I've also had really delicious raspberry lemonade from there.
I ordered some cookie cupcakes from here for my son's birthday. They are basically cookies topped with icing. Delicious, decadent and a huge hit at the party. Prices aren't cheap but I think reasonable for the quality of ingredients and the visual appeal.

I highly recommend this toy! I got ours from a friend and my son loved it. It is programmable with his name, you can pick his favourite foods, colours and animals for it to sing about and it has a nice selection of lullabies that I used for a long time to get him to sleep at night. This is by far one of the most useful toys he's had so far. -

I really like these pencils. I have been wearing one in Rave Red and I love it! It's the perfect shade of red. It's more of a poppy red than something with a blue undertone and it is brighter than the picture of it online. I find it very flattering and easy to apply. The pencils twist up to apply the colour, which I prefer over having to sharpen it. It's pricy but if you find a shade you are happy with, I'd say it's worth it. The colour lasts a fairly long time and the formula is moisturizing. Of all of the lip pencils I've tried recently, this one is my favourite. I received mine compliments of the brand. -

Best yogurt ever. Krema yogurt is creamy, thick greek style yogurt that gives ice cream some solid competition in the indulgence department. My sister in law has bought this for me a few times. She gets hers at Farm Boy in Ottawa but I haven't found any in Toronto yet. I'm not sure which stores carry it.
They have some really delicious flavours. Some of my favourites include Lemon, Vanilla and Caffe Latte. I just wish this line was carried in more stores.

I got a preview sample of this mascara to test as part of their PR and a campaign we are working on. I do really like the mascara because its very volumizing and has dual brushes: one for top lashes and one for bottom. I generally don't wear mascara on my bottom lashes because I find those lashes too fine not to get clumpy but because the brush is so small (more like a comb) that is not an issue. The top brush delivers a lot of volume, which I love. You have to apply this carefully so as not to get on the eyelids. I like using the bottom lashes brush to comb through my upper lashes after applying to make it as smooth as possible.
I find that with this mascara I can get away with no eyeliner and very little shadow and still feel made up. I am enjoying using this mascara and would purchase myself.

I really love this product. I can't believe how long I had it in my cupboard before cracking it open. I recently got a haircut that I'm finding really challenging to style. My hair is much drier than usual because I've gone from brunette to blond, so between the shorter length and the dryness, I need all the help I can get.
I got this product either from an event or PR (it's been that long) and I finally started using it. First impression: It smells really good! It is supposed to be applied to towel dried hair before you style. You only need a very little bit and have to concentrate and the ends of your hair. I found that it made my hair silky soft and less prone to frizz. It didn't weigh my hair down at all either, which many products do.
I have fine hair but lots of it, and it worked really well for me even though it is designed for medium textured hair.
I would definitely purchase this product again!

This little tea shop is adorable. It's right across from my office but I only visited for the first time today. The owner is very passionate about tea and has come up with some really creative drinks, such as the tea slushie I sampled while waiting for my order (iced red velvet tea). The prices are reasonable and the selection of loose leaf teas take up an entire wall. They also make Mayan drinking chocolate and tea lattes. I will definitely be back. -
