This is the first time I've used a cream cleanser that has actually taken off all of my makeup on the first try. I love the new naturals line from neutrogena. It's inexpensive and very effective. I like that my face doesn't feel tight or dry after using it. I have sensitive skin and have had no problems using this. I got a free sample from the brand for review but this is something I would purchase on my own. -

This is an ebook for your iPad. It is Ink Robin's second, the first being Will & Kate, an interactive story about the Royal couple that got a lot of great press.
Leonard is the story of a little boy that moves to the country and is having a hard time finding any friends. He uses his vivid imagination to create colourful alternate realities where he can play with giant robots, swim in the ocean or float in outer space - all in a quest to find kids to play with.
The app is brilliant. It's something adults would enjoy reading to their kid as much as the child would enjoy playing with it. The characters move, bugs can be splatted, and tilting the iPad makes things move. At one point, kids can build their own robot. It's super cute!
Because there are so many clever things integrated in the app, you can discover something new every time you play with it. I showed it to my baby and he was riveted. He's only 7 months old but he was thrilled with the sounds and movements. I think this is something kids of all ages would enjoy, but particularly those in the 4-6 age range.
I got an advance free copy to review, but it's only $3.99 in the Apple app store.

I was a fan of the original Yorkville location of this super cute Italian coffee bar and now they've opened up their newest location in Bloor West Village! This space is nice. There are outdoor cafe tables as well as a handful inside. Women are greeted as "Bella", which I'll admit I am a sucker for. They serve up perfect Italian espresso based beverages and a variety of yummy biscotti. Try the lemon. I had two today!
Also exciting is this is the first cafe in the area to offer gelato. This is going to be a problem for me in the summer. *Sigh*

I was naughty and came here for a cupcake with my friend, beauty blogger, Lipstick Powder 'n Paint. I had the dark chocolate which is (obviously) chocolate with chocolate icing and chocolate sprinkles. They have a wide variety of cupcakes that can be purchased as a single or in larger quantities. They have cute little boxes so you could send them to someone as a gift or for a party. I will warn you, they are dangerous! They are absolutely superb. So you will definitely need to head over to Trinity Bellwoods Park after to walk it off. Cupcakes are $3 each, $12 for a box of 4 or buy more and the price goes down from there. Delicious and dangerous but I will be back! -

Eye Love is a cute new brow bar that opened on Queen West in the Trinity Bellwoods area November 2011. Owner, Mary Dang is a makeup artist who started the brow bar in response to her client's requests that she do their brows. She had me over for a free consultation and shaping and told me that since her clients kept asking her to do their brows, she realized it was a great service niche.
Mary takes her time to evaluate your brows and instead of plucking out all of the strays, shows you where you should let your brows grow in for a more natural, attractive shape. Then she gets to work plucking your brows into perfection, and finishes by filling in any gaps or sparse areas you need to grow back. I actually wish I would have taken a before and after because I love what she did with mine. The pencil she used was so nice I asked where I could get one and it turns out, it is from her own makeup line so I bought one ($15). A consult and shaping is $30, with follow-ups at $25 or you can purchases packages at a discounted rate.
The brow bar is on the 2nd floor so you might not notice if you are walking down Queen Street. It's a lovely airy space with large hand carved antique wooden mirrors and lots of natural lighting. I should also mention that I brought my baby and it wasn't a problem at all.
In addition to brow shaping, Eye Love offers makeup services. I'm so glad I tried this out as this will be my new go-to for brows.

If you've never been to a Crossfit club, you will find it very different from a typical gym experience. Crossfit is a combination of strength and endurance training where up to 10 people train together at once for an hour doing a series of challenging exercises.
Reebok Crossfit Liberty Village opened it's doors in February 2012 and I attended a media class there this morning. I'm not going to lie; I got my ass handed to me. It was very challenging, but it was a lot of fun. This is the kind of workout you will definitely get results from. Because class size is limited, you get individualized attention to make sure you are doing everything correctly and getting the maximum benefit from your workout.
You can purchases a package of classes, by the month or just a drop in for $20. I think this concept is ideal for those intermediate to advanced who want to get results quickly.

I looooove this! I've been working on testing some of the newer products that have come out and this one really stands out for me. I have tried similar exfoliating power scrubbers in the past but I like this one is the best. The kit comes with pre-dosed puffs containing ultra-fine crystals and mild cleansers that you wet and attach to the power head. I have very sensitive skin but this didn't bother me in the slightest. My skin looked refreshed and deeply clean after the very first use. This gives your face a nice massage so it feels really good to use it. The price point is very reasonable. All in all a great buy. I received this for free from the brand but I would buy it again. -

Camp is a cozy space and a welcome addition to the area. There are a lot of cafes on Bloor but not very many borth near Annette. They offer everything from cappuccinos to croissants, brunch, lunch and they have plans to offer dinner in the near future. I have only been here for an espresso so far which, I am pleased to report was done right. Unfortunately they don't have lactose free milk, which means I can't sample their lattes. I stopped by this morning to try brunch but they were completely full.
I will update my review once I've had a chance to try the food.

This is my new toy in the kitchen. It makes recipes I wouldn't normally bother with because they'd be too complicated (chopping nuts, anyone?) really easy. There is a large bowl and a small one and an assortment of different blade sizes and types so you can do everything from mixing dough to chopping nuts or slicing apples. It's really well thought out.
So far I have made baby food, almond pesto, apple crumble and I'm just getting started. The pieces are dishwasher safe (top rack) and it's really easy to use. Since this is my first food processor I'm not sure how to rate the price as I have nothing to compare it to. All of our appliances are KitchenAid and I've been happy with all of them so far.
I got my food processor as a gift from the brand.
