The Mario Badescu description says “Oily, dull, congested skin will be refreshed and disinfected with daily use of this astringent.” MB calls it a “cleansing lotion” but it’s used as a toner, and that is how I will refer to it. Containing 4% Glycolic Acid and citrus extracts it is supposed to help chemically exfoliate and reduce the buildup of dead skin cells on your skin, much better for you overall than those harsh physical exfoliants - looking at you St. Ives…It comes in the classic Mario Badescu bottles and has a slight blue green color to it. The added color can be a little off putting for a lot of people, but it isn’t an issue for me, and it’s a pretty light coloring anyways. There is no strong smell to it, and disappears quickly.
Like any other toner I use it after my cleansing, and before serums and facial oils. Hyper-pigmentation marks that have been with me for over a year faded within 2 weeks of use, and if I have any new ones show up they fade within a few days. Any new blemishes that pop up have seemed to disappear much faster than normal as well. MB recommends this toner not be used on any active blemishes, and it does sting a tiny bit if you do, but it wasn’t an issue for me. Everyone’s skin is different however, so approach with caution. My skin is softer and my pores aren’t as noticeable, I also have seen a significant improvement in the overall texture. I would say to use only at night, or every other day if you have sensitive skin and feel like it is too much for you and work your way up. Some people also use it every other week, switching out with another toner. I say find what works and just do you boo.

Sleek white and black packaging and a pump top container give this moisturizer a high end feel and the product itself does not disappoint. Korean Food and Drug Administration approved Niacinamide balance out skin tone and effectively helps fade dark spots, while Japanese Knotweed helps treat skin tone and texture. Boasting an ingredient list with vegetable moisturizers this emulsion helps soothe fatigued skin caused by environmental factors, a MAJOR attractant when you live in Los Angeles. Best used beforeI have been using this in unison with the 1960NY Aqua Intensive Toner and they have basically changed my life. My skin is smoother and feels fresh all day long, and oil production has gone down a significant amount The amount of moisture packed into a single pump is all you need. Use this after toner, and before serum to help draw all those good ingredients down into your skin and lock them in. -

I don't even know where to begin with my love for this toner. I have been using it for close to a month now and I could not be happier with the results. I normally have very oily skin, especially on my forehead and cheek areas, so I was not sure at first how well this would work for me, but I know excess oil production can be from having dehydrated skin, so it was worth a shot. Over the last thee weeks my skin has become softer than ever and my hyper-pigmentation spots from acne have faded fairly well. I have noticed much less oil on my face by the end of the day, and my makeup goes on smoother and stays on longer. Cactus flower extract soothes and protects skin and hydrolyzed collagen helps skin retain moisture and skin's natural functions for healthy skin. There is a very very light almost citrus scent that fades right away and does not irritate the skin. I have been using this with the 1960 Aqua Intensive Emulsion and would recommend the same for the best results. While a lot of the time I wear two moisturizers, on days where I used only one and it wasn't the 1960 my skin did not feel as fresh. Both come in a container with a pump top, keeping the product sanitary and stable - my favorite type of container. -
