I was a little concerned when we got the bed mats in the mail and I noticed that the bottom of the mat was plastic. How on earth was my constantly moving during sleep two year old going to stay asleep with rustling plastic under her?? I needn't have worried! Despite the plastic there was no rustle from her movement. The absorbent pad on top was also very soft and the pad was very thin so aside from seeing it, she didn't even notice it when I tucked her in.
The first thing we did was to take off the tabs from the adhesive backing. Very easy to do! My five year old actually helped me peel off the backs and position it on the bed. The tabs remained in place extremely well for having to stick to sheets! When my daughter did have an accident she didn't even wake up! Normally, she will wake up and shout and holler until we come get her and clearn her up! I only noticed that she had had an accident in the morning because her pj bottoms were wet. I felt the top of the pad and it was hardly even damp any more! It was also very easy to remove and to throw away (despite how well the tabs were in place).
Overall: great product, a Godsend for night training (especially because when we put a "night diaper" on our daughter she gets upset and says she's not a baby), very user friendly! The only thing that could use some tweaking is the price. If your child has more frequent accidents, this could gouge your pocketbook a little

This lotion was another GODSEND for my eldest daughter who has the same dry skin as her mommy and my youngest is prone to dryness and eczema. It has a wonderfully light and natural scent. It moisturizes just as effectively as any heavy store bought lotion; however, the major difference are that a) it works, b) it doesn't further irritate their skin and c) it soaks into their skin right away instead of sitting in a disgusting layer on top and doing nothing but making their poor little hands greasy instead of dry! It IS pricey but it is worth it. I know the ingredients are good and that is paraben free so it makes it worth the price for my munchkins! :) -

After trying a million different products on my eczema and cradle cap prone two year old, I finally came upon Burt's Bees in Shoppers Drug Mart one day. I read the label and was satisfied with the product ingredients and the lack of parabens. It also smelled very natural and pleasantly like honey so I decided to give it a shot. We love it! The product washes away all of the girls dirt and grime and most importantly, does not irritate my little ones eczema OR leave behind the residue that causes cradle cap. The price is up there but the ingredients and effectiveness make it totally worth it!! -

I had my second thoughts about whether or not to try Label M conditioner. My auntie had recommended some of their products in the past and I wasn't a fan of the fragrance. Also, although I have thin hair, I am not a fan of light conditioners which seem to do nothing. That's why I was EXTREMELY pleasantly surprised by this product. The smell is very light and refreshing and I really enjoyed the silky, weightless quality it gave my hair. I can use it with any shampoo and it works great! The price is a little higher than most products (salon only) but it is worth the cost. It also comes in a square bottle-great for placing upside down when you start to run out :) -

Move over Cupcake Corner and Cupcake Conspiracy-there's a new cupcake place in town and it is gunning for you!! I recently found a deal on Dealfind from Cupcake Edition for 24 cupcakes for $20 (regular $50 which would be about average with the competition) so I decided to buy some for my co-workers. NONE of us were disappointed!! Not only were the cupcakes delivered to my work at a scheduled time, but they were AMAZING!! She brought a mix of Oreo and Twix Caramel (to die for). The cupcakes were moist and the icing was perfect-cream cheese and just enough with fabulous toppings. I definitely know who I'm going to for my cupcakes next time!! -

I have ALWAYS been a big lip gloss user and for years I used Lipsmackers as my main go to. I don't know if they've changed the product ingredients in past years but lately, I've noticed that Bonne Belle is making my lips WORSE instead of better. Why you ask? Everytime I put on Lip Smackers, by the time it wears off, my lips are in worse shape than when they started. Peeling, more chapped, etc. I've also noticed that it has a horrible "pilling" effect on my lips. As some I put it on it starts to separate and form lumps all over.So to Bonne Belle-you shouldn't have messed with a good thing. -

I don't get my hair done professionally very often, I must admit that I am a bottled blond and I really like a certain shade that is a perfect mix of white blond and golden blond that only my sister seems to be able to match with boxed dye.
However, as far as professional salons go-Chel is the closest I've come. I've only been there two or three times but they achieved the white blond/golden mix I crave as close as anyone has ever come besides my sisters. I also appreciate the unbiased advice they give you and the little extras (one stylist told me she wanted to oomph up my roots so she spent an extra ten or twenty minutes before her next appointment giving my scalp a quick massage and another stylist heard that I was headed on a date with hubby and did some extra curling and styling and was very particular at no extra charge!!). The place is bright and airy and there are several photographs on the screen taken by the owner that are extremely vibrant and original. Another small detail that really stands out (seriously) is the temperature at their rinse sinks. It is the first place I've been where I haven't felt like I was either having ice water dumped over my head or having my head scalded! I have also been there as part of a wedding party and they attended to us quickly and really made sure they focused on the bride. Their Aveda products were also a great find and the curl enhancer was the first product I ever found that could control my wavy hair!

Otowa IS the best place for sushi in Saskatoon. Forget Sushiro, forget Go For Sushi. There is NO other place like it!
Otowa is another one of those places that looks like a little hole in the wall. Blink and you may miss it. However, it all adds to the ambience of the place. It feels warm, personal, secluded and inviting. It is as warm as the food they serve. Start with the miso soup-I have tried many kinds of miso and the broth for this one is imcomparable. It is warm, rich, flavorful and so savory, I challenge you not to drink from your bowl. I have burnt my tongue (gladly) on many occasions because I could not wait to dig into my soup. Next, try a small or large Otowa salad. I am not a ginger fan but the ground ginger dressing on this salad is nothing short of amazing. There are undertones of onion and possible garlic (I have never been able to decide) and it is the perfect combination of savory and sour (rice wine maybe) over crisp cold veggies. If you are up to it, start with an appetizer. Their tempura batter on their enormous shirimp is light as air. Or try their kalamari with lots of lemon-it is the least rubbery and most buttery squid I have ever had! They have a HUGE selection of sushi, nigiri and both hot and cold rolls to move onto from here. I usually have a spicy tuna roll (so simple, so good) and a tiger roll (who knew melted cheese and hot sauce over a warm shrimp tempura roll would taste like this) and a couple pieces of nigiri. Try to go on Tuesdays when most sushi places have their freshest cuts. Sometimes the nigiri does show up to your table with the rind on it of older cuts but it is very rare! I recommend capping your perfect meal with a bowl of tempura battered icecream served with a dusting of icing sugar and some peaches-again simple but amazing!
Prices can range from $20 to upwards of $50 per person depending on what you have. Or you can spend around $10 on a meat and rice dish (they are also amazing). Whatever you are craving-this is the place to go!

My place of work introduced me to Mi Hong's about a year ago and I've been hooked ever since. Located in a small bay location in a Saskatoon strip mall on 51st street it is one of the busiest restaurants I have ever seen-with good reason! I recently went to pick up an order at 11:00 o'clock and the parking lot was already so packed, I had to park in a no parking zone (shhhh) and leave my hazards on to grab a pick up order!!
The prices for this restaurant range from about $5-$10 per dish. They serve a wide range of rice, rice noodle and soups dishes. I usually have the wonton soup and shrimp fresh rolls. I can honestly say before eating at Mi Hong's that I HATED wonton soup. But there's is totally differnt. The broth is rich and greasy-but in the right way. The meat in the wonton's is spiced PERFECTLY and this is the ideal dish for a cold winter day when all you want is comfort food. I dream about the fresh rolls seven days a week. Many restaurants that have fresh rolls serve skinny little unpacked rice sheets with not much in them. Mi Hongès loads theirs up and the shrimp are enormous.

I was so embarassed when I got my first zit at TWENTY years old. Why was my face betrraying me AFTER my teenage years? I tried every Clean and Clear, Neutrogena and SkinID product out there. They didn't work-period. I ended up with dried out skin and MORE zits for my trouble. I am willing to guess that I spent well over $500 in about two years trying and trying to find a product that worked.
I finally decided to try Proactiv. The FIRST DAY after I tried the product, I noticed my skin clearing up. I couldn't believe it. I nearly cried with how relieved I was to finally try something that worked! The product is more expensive than average cleansers but it works really well and I only have to have new product sent about every 10 weeks. I love the club you can join to have your product automatically replenished. I can't use the toner or repairing cream but I don't seem to need it so I keep it for back up in case I have a major flare up. Overall-love it.
