| Hey Artist!
I wanted to personally invite you to the shopping party we are planning. Would love it if you could make it!
The details are in the forums here: http://www.chickadvisor.com/?page=chickchat&display=details&pid=2219
Hope to finally meet you! |
| Me again! I went back and edited my comment on the article after I reread your entry on my g-book. hopefully I answered your question a little better than in the g-book comment I put in just before this one - sorry! you're smart, you'll figure out what I mean... |
| Hey Artist, just got your comment on my gbook - thanks! Re the fish thing: in my experience, you can tell some people about the hazards of this and that until the cows come home but they just do their own thing anyway and don't really care.
As a general rule, though, I would say people should be aware of their food sources. As an example: you should be careful about eating top-level predators (land or sea) because of the bioaccumulation I mentioned; consider your food's food source (eg. lobster are often called "cockroaches of the sea" because they are scavengers - this doesn't necessarily mean lobster is unsafe, but there is a certain "eww" factor); and of course the problem that seafood needs to be prepared carefully because of the dangers of salmonella and other bacteria.
Pregnant and nursing women, children, elderly, and those in weak health should always err on the side of caution and not eat anything they are unsure about. Developing nervous and endocrine systems (fetuses to pubertal children) are especially sensitive to many bacteria and chemicals, with health effects sometimes not detected until much later (and therefore often irreversible).
Sorry if this is too scientific for a gbook entry, but I wanted to reply properly to your question. I am going to include this comment in the article too, in case others were confused. Thanks for drawing my attention to it!
BTW I love this pic you have in your profile! Were you at a special event?
