The package is clear on what the item is inside. It is brightly colored and immediately draws the attention of children!
To make it open you must rub the Hatchimal. This got a little tedious because I feel like it took longer than it should have. However the kids were excited so they didn't seem to mind much.
Once it was open a fuzzy pinkish bluish creature. The kids loved how soft and cute it was! They are still working on helping it grow. It is working on learning their names.
Even though the toy is really cute and advanced, it's pretty expensive and I doubt it will hold my child's interest that long. My niece got one (not the mystery one) last year and really doesn't play with it that much. My 9 year old is especially interested in it so I think ages 7-11 is probably about the best age group for it.
The product seems to be really good quality. It's not falling apart or anything.
In conclusion, a really cool toy, fun for kids and something that learns and develops as they work with it, but not really in everyone's price range. I would recommend this product to people who have more than one child so it would probably get played with more.

They may be really good diapers, but I don't feel like they are any better than parent's choice and a box of these runs you twice as much! Not worth the money. -

Now I have to retrain the kids to only use a little because the angel soft taught them to use way too much! my roomate bought it because i guess she's used to what's cheap and it sucks!
