I’m a 27 female with combination, sensitive and acne prone skin. Normally I only spend the big bucks on my cosmetics. I have been very lucky previously with drugstore brands. A short while ago I began a Rx retinol gel to tackle some relentless acne. The side effects of this gel is horrendously dry skin; I’m talking peeling like I had a sunburn in the dead of a Canadian winter. While my hyaluronic acid gel cream was helping, it unfortunately was not doing enough. I initially tried the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and while I loved the texture, it broke me out. After a ton of research I stumbled across Drunk Elephant and fell in love online with the natural ingredients. I was wary at first as other cremes I have tried have been too heavy for day time use and I needed that day time moisture. I went to Sephora to score a sample and I was honestly blown away. Don’t get me wrong, this is a thick moisturizer. I was initially terrified as my skin tends to be on the oilier side and I was convinced this wouldn’t work as it appears super heavy, but wasn’t I ever wrong. The Lala absorbs super quickly to a gorgeous matte finish that I can wear all day sans makeup. When I do wear makeup it sits so nicely on top and I am without oil all day. If you’re generally a drugstore junkie, the $75 price tag can be scary but I 100% recommend it if you’re in need of serious moisture and you have sensitive skin. I use very little with great benefits so it is set to last. I love Drunk Elephants philosophy with natural ingredients, and honestly their packaging is adorable and functional as they all strive to maintain freshness and quality. Drunk Elephant has opened me up to a whole new world of “worth it” pricey products. -

I am a 27 year old female with combination, sensitive and acne prone skin. I discovered the Nivea Creme while I was daydreaming about La Mer Creme and looking for a solid dupe. Did you know that the majority of the primary ingredients in the Nivea Creme are the same as the ingredients in the La Mer Creme? NEITHER DID I! Considering the Nivea Creme is a super affordable $7 compared to La Mer Cremes $300+ price tag I knew I had to try it out. I purchased the German version for $7 in the cute little blue tin. I can remember both my Grandmas having these tins and I know why. The moisture, the texture, the smell - oh my gosh. To be completely honest, this is not great for day time use for me. It is so thick and rich that I can’t wear SPF or makeup comfortably on top. I put this on at night when I’ve had a super dry day. I coat my face and neck in it and wake up to the plumpest, hydrated skin. Because it’s so thick and creamy it really locks in all my products and gives me amazing results. The Rx retinol I am currently using is also infamous for drying your skin out and this is the ONLY product that gives me relief. I highly plan on being the Grandma who has these blue tins on my shelf for years to come. One additional bonus that I learned online is that the Nivea Creme can also be used in a pinch as a highlighter. Gave it a test myself and oh my gosh, that glooooow. -

I am a 27 year old female with combination, sensitive and acne prone skin. Let me start by saying this is single handedly the best purchase I have made in months. I don’t know how my skin ever managed to retain any sort of moisture before I discovered Hydro Boost. There is a reason why Neutrogena has been flourishing since I was a teenager - they get what your skin needs! I use Hydro Boost every single morning after cleansing. I apply it to damp skin as the hyaluronic acid, being a humectant, needs that water to absorb to really get the full benefit. Once it dries I apply another heavier moisturizer and it glides on top of the Hydro Boost and drinks it right up leaving my skin moisturized and oil free all day. The texture of this is really a cold to the touch gel cream that glides on without leaving a residue or shine. It absorbs right in. The extra dry skin variation is fragrance free, but I find the fragrance on this variation so light and fresh. The package also makes it look super luxe and expensive, so It’s honestly amazing that I can pick this up at Walmart for $20. I sampled a brand from Sephora for double the price and it felt tacky all day. This is way better bang for your buck. I will buy this over and over and over and preach it’s benefits to anyone who will listen. -

I am a 27 year old female with combination, sensitive and acne prone skin. CeraVe is a staple in my AM/Pm routines because their products have amazing, non-irritating and non-comogenic ingredients. I picked up the Hydrating Cleanser after trying the Foaming Cleanser and loving it. I originally began by using the Hydrating Cleanser only in the morning because it helped give my skin that kick of moisture it craves for day time life. When I started an Rx retinol cream at night I had to step away from the Foaming Cleanser due to one ingredient (SLS) and since then I have been using only the Hydrating Cleanser for AM & PM. This has quickly become my holy grail cleanser. The texture is just a luxurious and silky lotion that spreads so well and cleanser even better. Very little smell and super easy to wash off; I’ve yet to notice a film on my skin. Like the Foaming Cleanser it comes with a pump which I feel helps to keep it fresh but also less chance of wasting product as you don’t have to open and close a lid. Like most CeraVe products I can find it in Western Canada at Walmart, London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart and Co-op for about $13. -

I am a 27 year old female with combination, sensitive and acne prone skin. I am a huge fan of CeraVe products as they contain great ingredients (hyaluronic acid, ceramides and niacinamide) and are often very gentle on your skin. I have never been a huge fan of cream cleansers, but hated how foaming cleansers tend to dry you out. This foaming cleanser, however, does the complete opposite. Because of its great ingredients I find my skin feeling fresh and clean, not at all tight or irritated after using. I was using this foaming cleanser every night, but unfortunately right now I am using prescription retinol that doesn’t agree with the SLS in this cleanser. That’s actually the only thing I don’t like about this product as SLS aid known to be a little harsher on your skin. Luckily the pump will keep it fresh in the bottle until I can integrate it back into my routine once I am done with my Rx. Like most CeraVe products here in Western Canada it is easily accessible at Walmart, London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart and Co-op for about $13. -

I am a 27 year old woman with combination, sensitive and acne prone skin. I use the Garnier Micellar Water (with the pink cap) nightly as the first step in my PM routine. Whether it’s been a light makeup, sunscreen filled day or a full night on the town face of makeup, a couple soaked cotton balls are enough to remove makeup, dirt and grime to prep my face for cleanser. It is incredibly gentle, light scented and removes everything from bright red lipstick to the blackest black mascara. If I don’t feel like cleansing in the morning, this is more than enough to rinse my face of any night time grease and sweat and prep for my AM routine. I buy the large size bottle of this for roughly $8 and it lasts me for about 2 1/2 months. I prefer the Garnier Micellar Water over other “pricier options” as I find this actually leaves no residue on my skin. -

I am a 27 year old female with combination, sensitive and acne prone skin. This is my holy grail PM moisturizer. This slightly heavier lotion is the last step in my nightly routine and it really does it’s job at sealing everything in and ensuring I wake up with a nice, dewy complexion. The hyaluronic acid keeps in the moisture while the ceramides (think fluffy collagen) and niacinimide (bright, bright, bright) help to brighten and tighten my skin. The best part of all of this is it’s frangrance free and non-comogenic. I love this lotion so much that I even have my boyfriend using it nightly and his skill is looking a lot less dull these days. In Western Canada I find it easily accessible at Walmart, London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart and Co-op. It is very reasonably priced at roughly $15, and you can usually get a $2 off coupon on the CeraVe website. The other amazing benefit of this lotion is that while it’s heavy enough for PM, it can and will sit nicely during the day under your makeup if you’re in a pinch or need a little extra moisture. I use a lot of different CeraVe products but this is definitely one of my favourites. -
