I have a few itchy eczema patches on my body that my doctor has prescribed hydrocortisone cream for. The hydrocortisone cream has been helping but I noticed when I stop using the cream, the patches come back. I have heard horror stories about topical steroid withdrawal and I'm worried about that happening to me. When I got the chance to try the AVEENO® Eczema Care Daily Moisturizing Cream, I was hoping that this could be a steroid-free alternative treatment for my eczema.
I tried the cream out and over the course of 5 days I have noticed that my patches were starting to look better! I didn't experience any itchiness, and the redness is improving. The best part was there was no accompanying stinging or sensitivity that sometimes comes with the hydrocortisone cream. I would say it worked just as well as the hydrocortisone cream!
I'm really hopeful that this will replace my hydrocortisone cream, and I no longer have to worry about the risk of topical steroid withdrawal. I will try this out for a couple more weeks but I would recommend anyone with mild eczema to give this a try!
