These brushes are very soft, as they are made of synthetic hair. For beginners I would recommend getting the kits, as they are also pretty good value, and of the same quality as the individual brushes. The individual brushes are also quite good, though some are better than others. I would recommend the individual eyeshadow brush, the airbrush concealer brush, the fan brush, the retractable kabuki, and the bronzer brush. -

This brush is synthetic, which means it is really soft. I also really enjoy the shape of this brush, as it means that the brush is very versatile, and can be used for many things. Because it is synthetic, it doesn't pick up a ton of powder, which is preferred by me. I think this brush might soon be replaced by another brush, as it is no longer on the website, which makes me a little sad. -

This is a great beginners set. The brushes are synthetic, so they are very soft. I do find it disappointing that the eyeshadow and concealer brush are the same. Ecotools has an eyeshadow brush that they sell by itself, and I think that it would be more suited for this kit. I also think that the utility of this kit could be better if the eyebrow/lash groomer was replaced with a lip brush. However, the other brushes in this set are great. The eyeliner brush is one of the thinnest ones that I have encountered, making it great for gel liner, and the blush brush is very versatile. The concealer brush works, but is a pretty basic concealer brush, the eyeshadow brush basically functions the same way, so is better for cream eyeshadow. -

This brush is huge, and amazingly soft and dense. Its actually softer than the becca the one brush, and also bigger. I don't use it for body contouring, but basically for face blending and also to apply foundation (though i need to touch up hard to reach areas). I don't think most people would need or want this (especially as it is double or triple the price of other elf brushes), but for those two purposes it works really well. -

Elf recently updated their essentials line of brushes to synthetic hair. I would suggest using this brush for blush, as I don't think it works as well for applying bronzer. This was a welcome upgrade for me, though I enjoyed the old essentials bronzing brush for its shape and its ability to pick up less pigmented blushes, but hated how rough it was. The newer one is much better for blending and is leagues softer, but I also find it to be flimsier, meaning it can only be used with rather pigmented blushes, or very pigmented bronzers. -

This kabuki is very soft and is very versatile. I've used it with both powder and liquid products, and because it is synthetic, it works. Because it is synthetic, it gives a nice light dusting of powder, rather than a concentrated amount, and its great for buffing and blending. The only complaint that I have with this brush, is that I wish it was more dense, as sometimes it feels a little flimsy. Otherwise this is a great kabuki brush. -

I really enjoy this brush. Elf also has an angled blush brush that is really versatile and soft also. I find the shape to be very versatile and good for blending. This brush can be used for much more than just blush. For the price, (even with USD conversion) this brush is great, and I would suggest getting multiples. The only minor con, is that because this brush is synthetic, and very soft, it doesn't pick up as much pigment as other brushes, but as someone who prefers a blended look, this is less of a con and more of a pro. -

Elf recently updated their essentials line with new synthetic bristles. This brush, prior to the new synthetic bristles worked well, but was always a little scratchy. The new synthetic one works well also and I like the new one more, but doesn't pick up as much pigment - which makes blending easier, but less impact. However, for the price, I think the brush is well worth it, as it is extremely versatile and can be used so many different ways due to it's size and shape. -

I received this product from the Chickadvisor Product Review Club. I like that this cleanser comes in a gel format, as this seems to work well for my oilier areas. Like the other items in this line, this doesn't foam up very much, but it has a very nice smell, and it cleans my skin pretty gently. According to the ingredients, this is paraben free, which is great in general. The only cleansers I can think of that are comparable are cetaphil and spectro (this one is more expensive per ml) except I like this one more because of the scent and that this foams. I tend to use cleansers with salycylic acid, or glycolic acid, so this is not exactly my cup of tea - I can see it being great for aging sensitive skin though. Otherwise, this is a good basic everyday cleanser, does the job, and has a lovely scent, but is a bit on the expensive side. -

I received this product from the Chickadvisor Product Review Club. This reminds me of the marcelle gentle eye makeup remover, except this is better. (cost-wise, this is $5 more expensive). I don't use waterproof or long wearing eye makeup on the daily, but this takes off waterproof mascara and eyeliner pretty easily. I also haven't used makeup remover in a while due to the availability of micellar water. The thing that I do really enjoy about this, and the marcelle one, is that they don't leave an oily residue. I think that this one is also less drying than the marcelle one, so even better for sensitive skin.
I think this is potentially a more expensive eye makeup remover, but it seems to be comparable to the lancome bifacil which is almost double the price (also this has 25ml more). So in that sense the price of this quite good. Otherwise, I think there are other cheaper comparable eye makeup removers, though they might not work as well for sensitive skin.
