This review is for the $1 USD essential lipsticks. Fearless is a classic red. For $1, its are great for experimenting with different colors, however, they do not wear very long, are not very pigmented, and do not quite set. The lighter colors especially will settle into the lines on your lips. As these do not quite set, lipliner is a must. The formula also varies across the lipsticks, depending on whether you got an older lipstick or a newer one. I prefer the older formula, as it is more matte, but longevity is the same. The newer formula applies more easily, but is glossier. These will not last through a meal, but the packaging is NOT travel friendly at all, as the cap is not secure. On new lipstick, the top of the lipstick also does not twist all the way down into the container, so it is very easy for this to make a mess in your bag. I have tried setting this with powder, and still it does not last very long. The smell of these lipsticks is sweet, and is reminiscent of flintstones vitamins with a chalky sweet scent. These are very easy to remove. The reds are a little harder, but still relatively easy. For the price, I do recommend picking some up to try the colors, but don't expect very much from this lipstick. -

This lipliner pencil (bitter) is great. It is much shorter than other lipliner pencils, but for $1USD i can't really complain. It also comes with a sharpener. Its a very versatile pink red color, which blends into berry lipsticks and red lipsticks very well. The staying power for this lipliner isn't great, but it does it's job well for $1. This lipliner also does transfer a little bit, but its not bad at all for the price. -

This eyeliner comes in a thick marker style tube with a tip that tapers down very thin to a point. I don't tend to wear super long lasting eyeliner anyways, so if you are looking for something that is super long-wearing, this is not it, as it is not waterproof. That being said. it lasts a decently long time (though not as long as the sonia kashuk liquid eye pen) What I really like about this eyeliner is how stiff the tip is as this makes it super easy to apply, and also how black it is. The thicker tube does make the eyeliner more unwieldy, as the nib of the liner is VERY long, this makes it very difficult to do cat eye winged liner, especially at the wings. The stiffness of the tip makes it user-friendly to draw thinner eyeliner. This dries to a matte finish, which means that if you go over it again and again, it might appear patchy. Compared to essence pen liners, I find this comes off much easier and is more easy to correct with just water. As this does come off so quickly, it is not at all long wearing. -

This is a liquid eyeshadow. It dries down matte. This is $4 USD on elf's website. These are blendable when wet, and dry down matte. They are buildable, and can be opaque. All the shades are indeed matte, and these do dry down to a matte finish. Staying power is decent compared to other elf shadows. They work well as eyeshadow bases, and are good as eyeshadow for a quick eye look. The blushing rose shade works great as a liquid lipstick if you can get over the smell. -

This is the worst eyelash curler I have ever used. The shape is all wrong. As opposed to being a round shape, the curler is at a rounded angled shape, which does not fit any human eye. It is useable, if you curl the inner half of your eye and outer half separately, but it essentially defeats the purpose of the shape. I have also had this eyelash curler cut some of my lashes, as the top and bottom metal parts touch during the crimping process. While its nice that the curler has grips on the handles and this makes it comfy to hold, it doesn't save this curler from being any less terrible. -

This eyelash curler is my new favorite. I used to worship the shu uemura eyelash curler, but this has quickly taken its place. This eyelash curler has the same quality and curling effectiveness as other japanese eyelash curlers, but almost feels like it was tailor made for my eye shape. If you have rounder eyes, this eyelash curler will probably work well for you. The curler comes with a red rubber pad, which makes it easy to see if the curler is dirty or not. The handles also have smaller loops than the shu uemura. I would not say that this is a necessity if you already have the shu uemura, but it is quite likely that you will like this one more. -

This is an eyelash curler that lives up to its japanese name. It is a high quality eyelash curler that curls lashes effectively. I would say this is higher quality than sephora's own regular line eyelash curlers (though the XL ones work great.) It is a similar shape to the shisedo eyelash curler, but a little bit more rounded, so most shisedo fans will love this eyelash curler. It comes with 1 extra rubber, much like the shu uemura, or the shisedo. This eyelash curler is also matte black, so if you get mascara or eyeliner on this, you won't be able to see it. -

This review is for the $1 USD essential lipsticks. It appears that elf is slowly discontinuing these lipsticks on the website. I own nostalgia, classy, seductive, flirtatious, sociable, fearless and posh. Posh and seductive are no longer available on the website, which is a shame because these were beautiful colors. Nostalgia and flirtatious are almost too light for my light to medium skin tone, and are specific to certain looks only. They will likely work better for you if you have lighter skin. Classy is also bordering on almost too light, but works well as an everyday pink color. Sociable is a pink that borders on red, and has shimmer in it, its the only one that has shimmer (sparkles) in it. However, the shimmer is sparsely distributed, and the majority of the lipstick is matte. Fearless is a classic red. (Seductive is a pink nude color, and posh is a darker red). For $1 these are great to experiment with different colors, however, they do not wear very long, are not very pigmented, and do not quite set. The lighter colors especially will settle into the lines on your lips. As these do not quite set, lipliner is a must.
