I've always been a big fan of Miss Vickie's chips, as I love the crunchy kettle cooked texture. This flavour is great for those who like plain salted chips. These are perfectly seasoned without being too salty. They are not immensely flavorful, which is why I prefer Miss Vickie's Salt and Malt Vinegar, but this is a personal preference. They are a little greasy, which is part of what makes them so delicious. I'd have these again, though they wouldn't be my first choice of Miss Vickie's chips. -

I have never tried Ben & Jerry's ice cream before because of the steep price tag associated with the brand, so I was excited to try the new non-dairy flavour to see if it would be worth purchasing in the future. I have a mild lactose intolerance, so this was right up my alley. I #gotitfree, but the price tag where I purchased it was $7.47 for a 500 mL container, which is a bit steep but worth it for a non-dairy ice cream.
The consistency of the ice cream is rich, smooth, and creamy, which is complemented perfectly by the large chunks of crunchy chocolate fudge. I'm a fan of textural contrasts in my foods and this definitely delivered. The star of the show was the coconut, so this is great for coconut lovers. The almond flavour came as an undertone and it tasted to me more like real almond than almond extract. It tastes like it is made with premium ingredients, which to me justifies the higher price tag-- though I do wish it were a few dollars cheaper. I would recommend this to family and friends and plan on trying more Ben & Jerry ice cream flavors in the future. Thank you for making me a new fan.

I didn't have high expectations for this cookie butter as I had tried the brand name and found it too bland for my liking. I found the same to be true of the cookies, so this shouldn't have come as a surprise. When I saw this at Loblaws for $4, I decided to give cookie butter one last try, and I'm so glad. This butter is creamy, rich, and delicious. It is sweet with the perfect amount of spices. It tastes like a play between crushed up gingerbread cookies and crushed up graham crackers. I really got the caramelized taste, which I'm a big fan of. I plan to keep buying this and will never go back to name brand again. -

These can be purchased at Rexall. Metro, or Shoppers Drug Mart for around $2.99. They can sometimes be found on sale for $1.99 or 2 for $5. This bar is 200 calories and contains 12 grams of protein, 3 grams (12%) fibre, 4% calcium, and 8% iron. As soon as you open the bar, you can smell the sweet peanut butter with a ribbon of rich, creamy caramel, which is exactly what the bar tastes like. The bottom of the bar is dipped in a caramel coating with a light drizzle of caramel on top. The caramel dip is smooth and creamy with a light caramel taste. The bar is soft and chewy with pieces of chopped peanuts and crisps inside to add a nice textural crunch and firmness to the bar. It has a strong peanut flavour, which is great for peanut lovers. The peanut flavour comes out as a mix of roasted nuts and peanut butter, with the sweet and saltiness. It also tastes strongly of sweet caramel, which comes out more as you eat of the bar-- by the end of the bar, the caramel flavours equals or surpasses that of the peanut butter. Each bite is a surprise as some taste like peanut, some like caramel, and some a blend of both. This bar is the perfect blend of sweet and salty, for those who like this taste profile. It is a sweeter bar, so it’s great for those craving a decadent sweet treat, only healthier. -

It contains 15 grams of protein and 10% recommended calcium. As soon as the wrapper is opened, the bar gives off the delicious scent of being in a blueberry field. The smell is matched with the strong blueberry taste. There are plum, juicy blueberries inside the bar, which makes you feel like you are eating blueberries straight out of a blueberry field. The blueberries add a mild sweetness to the bar. The bar is thick, soft and chewy. There are chopped cashews on top of the bar. The chopped nuts on top and the rice crisps throughout the bar add a nice crunch. There is no overly strong nut taste, instead, the bar has a milky nut taste from the cashews, which pairs nicely with the sweet blueberries. This bar tastes like summer. There is a protein powder taste in the bar. As soon as I ate this, I went out to get another one. -

I bought a box of these on sale at Loblaws for $2.99, after reading great reviews about them on here. Each pack comes with five individually wrapped packages, with two bars per wrapper. Each pack containing two bars is 170 calories. Each bar has a line down the centre, so it can be easily broken into two thin bars (for a total of four thin bars per pack). It is a great breakfast, snack, or lunch idea. The bars are crunchy. They are made with whole grain oats and a whole grain blend, containing quinoa, barley, and buckwheat. These are great for those who are looking for a wholesome tasting bar, rather than a sweet one. The taste of the grains comes through with only a mild sweetness from the chocolate chips. There is also a mild saltiness at play, which works great with the taste of the mini chocolate chips. I plan on stocking up next time I see a sale. I prefer the Kashi Honey Oat Flax flavour ever so mildly to this one because of it's stronger sweet and salty contrast -

I purchased a pack of these from Rexall Pharmacy after season for around $2. You can eat 7 marshmallows for 90 calories, which makes for a nice sugary snack. The marshmallows are the shape of gumdrops. The ingredients consist mostly of sugar. These marshmallows are more dense and chewy than regular marshmallows. They are pink on the inside and there is a red sugar coating on the outside, which is fun, but can stain surfaces as it easily gets all over your hands. They smell like strawberry but do not have any such taste. You can taste the crunch and sweetness of the exterior sugar coating. They are super sweet, which can make you feel a bit queasy if you eat too many. -

You can purchase these at select Loblaws and Rexall stores, though they are a bit trickier to find than some other Quest bar flavours. At Rexall, they are often on sale at Rexall at 3 for $12. Each bar is 210 calories and contains 14g fibre (56%), 15% calcium, and 20g protein. This bar is a must-try for chocolate and mint fans everywhere. If you love York Peppermint Patties, you are sure to love this bar. It tastes like a mix between a mint chocolate bar and a candy bar stuffed with cookies. It is stuffed to capacity with green mint chocolate chunks and large pieces of crushed chocolate cookie, similar to an Oreo. The bar is chewy and the mint chips add a nice level of crunch. It tastes like a rich decadent dessert, not like a protein bar. This tastes equally good heated in the microwave for about 20 seconds or eaten straight out of the package. This protein bar can be a bit more expensive than others on the market. It can be more difficult to find than some other Quest bar flavours as it is only available at select stores that sell Quest bars. -

I bought a 400 gram container of this spread for $5.47 at Wal Mart. I've heard a lot about it from family in Europe and the Middle East, but I hadn't tried it before. The consistency is rich and smooth. With this being a cookie butter, I expected the spread to be sweet but I was mistaken as it is only ever so mildly sweet. The cookie butter tastes like crushed Lotus Biscoff cookies. I like the buttery texture and the cinnamon and spice taste that comes through in every bite. I like to eat this spread on an English muffin and then put in the microwave for a few seconds right before eating. It makes the English muffin soft and the cookie butter gets perfectly warm and gooey. Each tablespoon is 110 calories. This is fairly good for a different spread every once in a while, but if I'm looking for a "dessert" spread, I prefer Reese's Spread. -

A pack of four bars can be purchased from Wal Mart for around $4, but they can sometimes be found on sale for $2.99. Each bar is 180 calories and contains 30% calcium, 10% iron, 10 grams of protein, 20% (5 grams) of fibre. These bars are light and delicious. They have a rice crisp cereal inside, making for a light and airy texture. The interior texture is reminiscent of a Rice Krispy square, but with a caramel sauce holding the crispies together, instead of the traditional marshmallows. It tastes like there is peanut butter flavour infused within the rice crisp portion of the bar, and the pieces of chopped peanuts add another depth of nutty flavour to this bar. This bar does not taste like you need to trade in a Rice Krispy dessert for something healthy, as it tastes deliciously like dessert. There is a perfect sweetness without it being too sweet. The creamy milk chocolate coating on top pairs perfectly with the strong peanut flavour on the inside, making for a winning chocolate peanut butter combination. -
