this is definitely a great product for those that are new to hair dying, and it also helps you experiment with a variety of colors that turn out just as shiny and as rich as normal loreal permanent hair dyes. the lasting effect and durability of these colors can go as far as two weeks (depending of course on how often you wash your hair..). These are definitely a great introduction into the loreal permanent dyes, so i recommend it to any hair-dye newcomer looking for a perfect shade. -

NYX ultra pearl loose eyeshadow is possibly the cheapest (on the very reverse side of the spectrum as mac) and more affordable version of MAC cosmetics eyeshadows, and it is even carried in most average grocery stores.
In contrast to mac, nyx does not however have as vast of a selection of eyeshadow pigments to choose from, but still more than enough to have several different looks (there are 24 shades in all, not counting the many other eyeshadow products nyx carries).
These eyeshadows last a very long time, not losing any glimmer nor fading even remotely several hours into the day. I recommend that you apply these pearl eyeshadows over a similar yet dull color to make the appearence of that shadow look much more vivid like an effect you would get from using mac brand. They're somewhat more translucent and less solid than the average mac eyeshadow, but are very noticeable and have above average visual effects in comparison to more expensive eyeshadows you'll come across in your common grocery stores (rimmel, maybelline, etc). I mean, $3! you'd be wasting money if not wearing NYX. i feel it is my duty to inform the uninformed of this great product! so go buy it now...

while i'll agree that MAC has the greatest selection of eyeshadow colors, and the way it appears on the eyes is just as seen inside of the bottles (i'm specifically talking about mac's loose eyeshadow btw), they do have some faults to work on. I realize several times after applying their loose shadow that eventually throughout the day the color begins to fade very harshly (and this is with a concealer base to help it stick onto the lids in the first place! plus this doesn't occur EVERY time, but depending on the amount of hours that i'm wearing it, it eventually fades inevitably, and i've been applying different amounts to see if it's too little or too much to make it react this way..). i'm particularly disappointed in this, as many other eyeshadows seem more durable but are yet much less vivid than mac's. So while mac has the most beautiful and fantasic selection of eyeshadows to choose from, there's usually a chance that it might fade more quickly than willing, and you could be stranded with shitty make-up for the rest of the day at either school or work, etc... -
