I was sent this as a prize for being a reviewer of the week on GLAMGEEK. I have lashes that are long and a little straight, and like a mascara that can lift and curl them – I had high hopes for this mascara. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed as it didn’t give the lift or look that I get with one coat of Benefit BADgal Bang. Maybe its me because I found the brush strange and hard to apply the mascara, I didn’t feel the pull and lift of my lashes that I get with BADgal Bang. It was Ok at the outer corners to apply but I couldn’t work out the best way to hold the brush to apply mascara to the inner corner without poking myself in the eye which I did. I did like the blackness of the mascara, but I just didn’t get my lashes almost touching my eyebrow. Sorry Maybelline not for me. -

was kindly sent this to try by Merumaya. I use the Cleansing Balm as my first step at night to remove my makeup. I use the size of a pea which melts perfectly to cover my face, neck and décolleté. I can spend time massaging the cleansing balm into areas that I feel I need to pay attention to such as around my nose and chin, once I have wetted my hands and massaged the product into my skin it emulsifies into a milk. While massaging the product into my skin I take pleasure in in breathing in the smell of it, as it is calming and comforting. It removes Benefit BadGal Bang mascara, Benefit Roller Liner and Benefit Hello Happy with very little effort and leaves no residue. You can splash it off, but I prefer to remove any of the cleansers I am using with a muslin cloth. My skin feels calm and soothed once I have taken it off and it works well with the Merumaya Mineral Cleansing Paste as a second cleanse along with Liz Earle Instant Skin Boost Tonic and Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème. I have noticed that my skin looks healthier and clearer since I have been using the Cleansing Balm, I can take my time before applying the next steps in my regime as my skin isn’t feeling tight or sore. -

I am a former nail biter, there I said it. When I get stressed and feel under pressure, I bite my nails not just the nails but the skin around them that I make them sore. When I was younger, I really did bite my nails until they bled. And who ever said getting engaged will stop you biting your nails are correct. That is when I stopped biting them on a regular basis. But years of being a biter have left my nails weak, ridged and do not grow very well. My thumb nails split horizontally, my ring finger on my right hand has vertical ridges which when it gets to a certain length it splits all the way down. And of course all the hand washing we are doing at the moment has dried my nails even more, so after I applied my eye drops (have Dry Eye and need to apply drops every two hours) I would apply the oil to my cuticle spending at least a minute to massage it into each cuticle and nail. I also apply it when I have changed my nail polish. I have noticed a difference in my nails. They are healthier, still have the ridges, do not break as easily. It should be in anyone’s nailcare arsenal. -

This is a money saving dupe for Pixi Glow Tonic. I use it three times a week after cleansing at night, I don’t put any moisturiser on afterwards to allow the product to work effectively. You may be put off by the strong herbally smell of the lotion – don’t be it doesn’t last long. Both my hubby who has oily skin and I, my skin is dry/sensitive, use this product. Hubby has noticed that his skin isn’t as oily as it was and any spots he has do not last as long, they dry up quickly. The texture of both our skins has improved since using this. We have brighter and healthier looking skin. There is a slight tingle when you apply this lotion using a cotton pad. We use one cotton pad and wipe it over our faces avoid the lip and eye area, turn it over and use the other side making sure we clean behind our ears just like our mothers told us to when we were little. Don’t forget to wipe it over your neck and décolleté as I have noticed an improvement in mine since I have been doing this. Yes, we will be repurchasing it and to be honest have – think we are on our second maybe third bottle. -

I had been sent this from Glamour Beauty Club to try. This gel liner gives the perfect line and can go in close to the top lashes, meaning that you can create a thick or thin line depending on how you feel. It can be applied to the waterline and can be used to tightline creating the look of ticker, fuller lashes. I had worried that it would irritate my eyes as some liners have done in the past. This didn’t. It is waterproof and came off easily with the Curél Gel Cleanser that I am currently using. I believe that the full-size crayon has a built-in sharpener in order to keep he perfect shape. It is a shame that the smaller size doesn’t have the sharpener as it would be useful in order to keep the shape of the tip of the crayon. I would like to try (Stone) Fox 58 – a metal grey or Plum(age) 60 – a vivid purple. -

If you have used the original, you will be shocked to see that this version is blue. A nice silvery blue. This has the same smell as the original the only difference is that it has more moisturising benefits. I used a size of a 10 pence piece to wash my hair. The first wash did not foam up as much as the second wash, the bubbles are fine and easily washed out my hair. It leaves my hair feeling soft and hydrated and when dry has a bounce and softness. -

Again, I researched conditioners that help hair grow as I am trying to grow out my pixie haircut. Well, I have had for five years plus and am bored. Plus, I have seen some great hair accessories, so I want to ty them. Right back to the conditioner. Smells great. Applies to the hair like a dream – I have a patch of hair that is fried straw because of the bleaching last year and this does not tangle it when I applied it. I then brushed it through with my Tangle Teezer Wet Brush and leave it in for three to five minutes. It washes out like a dream and does not weigh my hair down after I have left my hair to dry naturally. I do not use heat of any kind on my hair – well only when I have been to the hairdressers, but I have not been to a hairdresser for over a year – before the first lockdown here in the UK. I have also noticed that I do not need to wash my hair as often I can tell when it is getting near to the end of the week when I normally wash it. -

As I have mentioned in previous reviews, I have mental health issues and during the first lockdown I suffered with how I look and especially with regards to my hair. My lovely, wonderful hubby got his clippers out and shaved it all of my hair off for me. But by Christmas I wanted to my hair back long and its natural colour of dark brown. Having researched various brands, I thought this offered the best value for money as my two boys are having hair issues too, so they are using it as well. It has a fine lather that ashes out easily and does not leave a residue on my hair and the patch of bleached hair that was dry and tangled easily when applying shampoo my hair was not tangled. My hair felt hydrated and nourished also it did not feel like thick straw once I had washed it out. The health of my hair has improved, and I can see that it is helping it to grow. It is not flyaway, and it is manageable. -

Because I have dry eye and use eye drops every two hours, I have noticed that my eyelashes are not as healthy as they were. Again, it says use at night, but I think it is better to have it as part of my morning routine and apply it before my eye cream. I have noticed a difference and will be trying to keep up with it. I always prime it after using it rather than before as I have a habit of getting product in my eye making them sore. -

This product comes in a tube with a brush attached which you need to prime before use. The cream is pale in colour, I purchased the Luminous and Radiance versions so it maybe a little worrying for those who have a darker skin tone than mine. It blended well but as it dried down the was glitter/shimmer which for me and the lines I have under my eyes, I thought it may emphasise them. I do like the product and would not wear it in the day but at night when I was wearing a more shimmery/glittery make-up than my normal day look of matte eyeshadow. At the moment, I don’t think I will be re-purchasing these any time soon as due to my mental health issues I don’t go out at night. Maybe because I am 42 nearly 43 that I feel it is aimed at the teen and young adults rather than me. -
