I had heard about these pimple patches and thought I had bought the original but it turns out it was a counterfeit. Please be careful and make sure you buy the real deal because it works SO WELL! Shoppers would obviously have the real ones, so you’re safe if you buy it there. The fake ones are super flat and feel like scotch tape, whereas the real ones are true hydrocolloid and raised. I am a medical esthetician and acne is my focus. I previously suffered from awful cystic acne that destroyed my confidence but gave me a new purpose in life - to help others with their acne. I still occasionally get pimples along the jaw and one popped up right before my sample came in, so I was able to use the patch immediately and WOW! These things are like magic! The swollen, angry zit was only a small red dot the following day after sleeping with it on. I even put one on the side of my nose to see what would happen. Both patches were raised and white where the pores had been. The one on my nose was so yucky looking but it left that side of my nose looking like my pores had shrunk (pores size doesn’t change but they will look more refined when clean). The one on the zit on my jaw was also significantly raised / white only where the pimple was. I’ve since used these on my pre-teen daughter and they were great for her sensitive skin, too. The Mighty Patch is an amazing products I and I will definitely be recommending it to my acne clients! A great thing to have in your emergency acne kit. They’re also great for those who have a problem with picking their acne, which only spreads bacteria and increases inflammation. Most people don’t know how to extract pimples or which pimples can be extracted so please - leave the extractions to your skin professional and pop one of these patches on until you’re able to see someone (but these things works so well, you may not have to see a professional!) - Product received for free from Butterly.com in exchange for an honest review

Now I understand why Batiste is known as the holy grail of dry shampoo! This stuff WORKS - and you don’t need much of it. I am an avid dry shampoo user, usually going with Dove when it’s on sale for 4.99. I’ve always thought “why would anyone pay $7-$11 for a bottle of Batiste? Why is it so popular?” … I just never saw the appeal because I fly through dry shampoo so fast and could never justify the cost. Welp, I’ve been using a substandard product, that’s why! I was shocked at how little product I had to use to see immediate results. I also love how inventive this particular product is - a dry shampoo you use before bed so you can wake up with fresh hair. It avoids the dreaded white powder look on my dark brown hair from spraying it the day of and the yucky white powdered fingers that I always end up wiping on my black clothes! So this was definitely a time saver and solved issues I thought were just part of the cost of using dry shampoo. I also used this the morning of when I was in a pinch and it worked amazing, so it can be used either way. Great smelling. Great product all around. I am officially a convert! Thank you so much for making me a part of this campaign! -

I am a medical esthetician and skin care fanatic. I’m always looking for the latest and greatest creams, so I was so excited to be chosen to review the Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Cream. I used it exclusively (with my usual serums) consistently for 2 weeks before making my mind up.
The ingredients are very clean and are mostly plant sourced or skin similar compounds, making this an excellent choice for just about any skin type, especially sensitive and dry skin.
This cream is quite thick and I used it in the evenings. I saw a huge improvement with my skin ... my dryness disappeared and it felt healthier. I can tell it helped to rebuild my skin’s moisture barrier, which is so important when we’re talking about ageing skin (moisture loss is the 2nd biggest contributor to premature aging).
I used to use the very expensive Drunk Elephant La-La Retro cream and still had dry skin - but with this product that is half the price, that problem went away in less than 2 weeks. It will be a staple in my nightly routine moving forward and will be a big saviour come winter. I highly recommend this cream for just about anyone. It’s even on sale for 30% off at skin shop right now!

I am a medical esthetician and skin care fanatic. I’m always looking for the latest and greatest creams, so I was so excited to be chosen to review the Dr. Belmeur Cica Recovery Serum. I used it exclusively (with my other serums) consistently for 2 weeks before making my mind up.
So first off - the ingredients are exceptionally ‘clean’ and have everything you really need in a serum if you have normal, sensitive or dry skin - really any skin type can benefit from this serum. Skin care can get really fancy and complex but at the end of the day, all you REALLY need is something that is going to help you maintain your skin’s moisture barrier and help you retain moisture. Ceramides and Panthenol are the perfect choices for this and do an exceptional job.
The serum is nice and light - silky smooth. It absorbed nicely and didn’t leave me looking like an oil patch. I noticed a big improvement in my skin’s moisture over the 2 weeks, which I was really hoping for since I usually suffer from dry skin. It’s currently on sale at the face shop, down from $48 to $33, which makes this a very cost effective serum with proven ingredients that work. It’s a great serum for sensitive skin and will help with the appearance of ageing by filling lines with moisture.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this serum. #gotitfree

Panthenol comes from vitamin B5 and is present in our cells. It is a safe and effective ingredient used in skin and hair care, and has excellent penetrative and moisturizing abilities. The Panthenol makes this cream a great solution for anyone with dry skin and the gel format makes it suitable for all skin types - remember that loss of moisture is the 2nd biggest cause of ageing (1st being the sun).
When I applied this product it absorbed wonderfully and felt so light on my skin. I looked in the ingredients and found nothing that would cause any concerns. It’s a relatively simple yet effective moisturizer that I would recommend for nearly every skin type. It’s very gentle, making it great for sensitive skin.
It’s currently on sale from approx $40 to $23 at the face shop which makes it an amazing value. This moisturizer is a big step up from anything you would find at the drug store, with a similar price point. I used the gel cream in combination with the Cica Recovery Cream which is heavier and the Serum, and my dryness completely cleared up which i was really happy and shocked at. This cream lived up to its promises and exceeded my expectations- I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been on IV chemotherapy for 2+ years for autoimmune disease and started to notice that my hair was getting really thin in the middle area, especially in my “side bang” part that all of my friends know me for. I went to see my Dermatologist and she recommended that I start an iron supplement and Rogaine 5% (low or even low-ish iron can cause hair loss in women FYI). I looked everywhere online and decided that Rogaine was too expensive and I would buy some “no-name” minoxidil solution. It didn’t foam like it was supposed to and it was extremely sticky, like hair gel. I hated using it. I almost jumped out of my chair when I saw that ChickAdvisor was hosting a Women’s Rogaine campaign, so I applied and was thankfully accepted. I’m happy that I was able to try the real Rogaine out and here’s why I will NEVER cheap out on Rogaine again ...
- The texture is like a normal hair mousse which makes application a breeze
- It’s not sticky!! Not feeling like I had to take a shower after applying made such a huge difference in my compliance!
- Once a day formula instead of 2/day with no-name.
- No strong smell! The knock off version had an awful smell that gave me headaches.
The Rogaine is far superior to the knock off in every way, and I firmly believe that’s why I was able to stick with it. When you’re looking at saving a few dollars vs. Effectiveness, it’s an easy choice.
With the ease of application I was able to see results with the Women’s Rogaine that I just didn’t see with the knock off. I’m happy to report that I’ve noticed some new growth already at 3 months, and I’m looking forward to seeing the results at the 6 month mark.
I highly recommend this product if you are suffering with female pattern hair loss. It’s easy to use and works!

I really did want to love it! I won a little prize pack that included some items from Tarte, which is a company that I adore, and the Lip Facial was one of them.
It comes in a crayon type pencil which right of the bat struck me as an odd choice for a product like this. It’s the exact same thing as elf’s lip scrub that they offer in a lipstick tube ( again, weird choice of container - when I think lip scrub I think a pot or a tube). It’s coconut oil and sugar so it starts to form a weird melted top.
The packaging feels cheap, as does a lot of tarte’s new skin care line. It’s like something you would buy at the dollar store...certainly not something you would expect to pay over $21 for. Top that off with the fact that it doesn’t even really work...no thanks. I still love their makeup, though!

I first purchased the NIOD Survival 0 while they were figuring out their sunscreen regulations and LOVED it! It literally transformed my skin, so I figured buying its daytime counterpart, Survival 30 would be a match made in heaven ( it has SPF 30 instead of 0 SPF..duh :P )
It’s a combination of a serum and mineral sunscreens suspended in silicone that is to be worn under makeup. I like it because it’s more than JUST a sunscreen, it protects against blue light and environmental pollutants (which is hard to prove). It also feels nice and silky because of the silicone but this can be a positive or a negative, depending on what I plan on putting on afterwards. It has a sand Color to it because of the carotenoids used which also helps to even out the complexion.
I find that it will pill sometimes if I put certain serums underneath or certain foundations over top which is really frustrating. For this reason, I find myself not reaching for it as often as I had expected. I will wear it if just around the house and not planning on putting makeup on or maybe just putting a bit of powder. The price is very reasonable at $29 and I do believe it’s good for my skin. I still prefer my Survival 0 though, which is $25.

If you haven’t been to a DECIEM store yet, you should check it out! I love its minimalism design and cheeky quotes on the walls. They showcase all of their products from all of their brands so it’s a great place to try out products you’ve been meaning to grab without waiting on shipping (which is notoriously long for online shopping). They also have a great return policy - full refund for used or unused products within 365 days of purchase if you don’t like it. If you do this online, you have to pay your own return shipping, but in the store you can do it at the register.
Loooove DECIEM!

This was my first eyeshadow palette from Natasha Denona and I have since bought her Lila Palette as well.
The Mini Sunset Palette is only $30 and includes 5 shades. While I’m absolutely in love with the texture, the way they apply and blend and the colours (Natasha’s palettes are always so well thought out), I find myself reaching for my Lila Palette more. Some of the colours in the Mini Sunset clash with my pale neutral skin and brown eyes. I’m a makeup artist so I still find lots of use for this palette and think it’s an amazing price, I would even still recommend it for us pale ladies based on the price.
