The concept of a foundation stick is smart, if done right. It saves time, is convenient, and portable. However, that's not the case when it comes to Maybelline's Fit Me Shine Free Foundation Stick. First and foremost, the biggest con of this foundation stick is that it is not blendable. Whether I'm using a beauty blender or a brush, I can still tell where the foundation was first applied. While it claims to be "shine free", 4 hours into wearing the foundation, I notice that my oily skin starts to seep through and the foundation breaks apart.
Coverage: Light-medium
Consistency: Stick foundation
Shades: 11
Finish: Matte
SPF: None
While the concept is amazing, the execution is poor. You get what you pay for - poor quality. Overall, the only use I've had for this foundation stick is while I'm running errands. I tend to use it when I know I'll only be out of the house for less than 4 hours, otherwise it won't hold up.

I'm surprised this product is still on shelves. This must be the worst dry shampoo I've ever used, and I've given it two chances by purchasing it on two different occasions. PROS: Like all Dove products, it smells great. On both occasions, I was able to pick it up for $3. What a steal, I thought, as compared to my regular Batiste dry shampoo which costs $8. CONS: Normally, I wash my hair every other day and use dry shampoo in between washes. After multiple uses, I noticed that the product didn't do much to make my hair look less greasy. It was OK, but kind of mediocre. I always felt like it was adding more product and buildup to my hair than it was taking away (more harm than good). After using the product on perhaps 5 different occasions, it "ran out", but the aerosol can appeared to still have product inside. I thought it was simply a product defect, and decided to buy a second can. The exact same thing happened the second time around. I've decided to save my money and invest in a dry shampoo that actually works as opposed to one that is half-assed. -

As a girl with fair-to-medium skintone with yellow undertones, I found that the closest shade to me was 320 Warm Golden. However, somehow I was able to run through a whole container of this product and buy a second before realizing that the colour of this foundation doesn't really suit me. I mean, I knew it from the start, but it was the closest shade to me. From the line, there are only 12 shades, unfortunately. It has a thick consistency with medium coverage. The one thing I hated most about this foundation, aside from the shade selection, was the application. The instructions recommended to use your fingers to blend the foundation into your skin, otherwise the formula of the foundation made it extremely difficult to blend with a brush. However, I always found that grossly messy and unsanitary. In addition, I found that dry patches were accentuated and did not wear with dignity. Aside from these cons, I found that it lasted very long after application.
Coverage: Medium
Consistency: Thick, creme
Shades: 12
Finish: Satin/Matte
SPF: None
If you have beige/neutral undertones and find your match, go crazy, especially if you have oily skin. Otherwise, I'd stay away, and even prefer the normal colorstay foundation over this.

This is one of the first foundations I started using while dealing with acne. It is a heavy duty foundation with two formulas, one for normal to dry skin and the other for combination to oily skin. I used the latter. I have 3 bottles of this at home and have only ever been able to use 1. I really wanted to like this, but the closest shade to my skin colour is still too dark for me. When I'm out of my daily foundation and I'm desperate for foundation, I'll mix this with a foundation that is too light for me to try and make it work, but it's not a permanent fix. I think this would be a great foundation during the summer for those living in hot, humid climates, when you really want your makeup to stay. However, because of the thick consistency, sometimes it feels like it's clogging your pores. You definitely notice that you're wearing makeup. This would also be a great foundation for events and/or photography. When I do use it, I tend to use a beauty blender as opposed to my Sigma F80 brush to sheer out the foundation so it's not so cakey.
Coverage: Medium-to-full, can get cakey
Consistency: Thick, making it feel heavy on the skin
Shades: 8 shades in each formula
Finish: ------
SPF: 0, 6, 15
If you're looking for a heavy, long-wearing foundation, this may be for you as long as you find your colour. However, for me, long gone are the days of really heavy makeup. Now, I'm interested in a medium foundation that can even out my skin tone, where I can spot conceal dark spots if need be.

I did not like this foundation. Let me tell you why.
I have combination/oily skin, so naturally I gravitate to foundations that are long-wearing. Though this foundation does not claim to control oil, it does claim to be "long-wearing, natural-looking, buildable medium-to-full coverage, with a hydrating formula that blurs imperfections". My first impression was that the foundation was cakey, sunk into my pores, and my natural oils began peeking through around 5-6 hours into wearing the foundation. I decided to give it a second chance and wear a primer. However, this time around, I found that the finish of the foundation seemed almost flat against my face and/or appeared to give a grey cast. I can't put my finger on it, but I don't like this foundation in comparison to my Estée Lauder's Double Wear. The coverage is decent - a near medium build. I still have to conceal dark spots and acne scars. Despite having a "hydrating formula", I found that the foundation was not the most flattering around my dry patches as a result of the winter weather.
Coverage: Medium
Consistency: On the thicker side
Shades: 12
Finish: Satin
SPF: None
Returning this product, do not recommend. If you want to try it first, I recommend asking for a sample from a Sephora associate before committing to buying the product.

I first came across this product when my dermatologist recommended it to me while I was on Accutane. My lips were SO blistering chapped that anything I tried failed to work, from Nivea to Burts Bees to Chapstick to Vaseline. While I found that Blistex was better than many of these other lip balms, I still found that my skin would peel right off a few hours later. For those not on Accutane, I'm sure this is a great product, but I later found that Carmex did a much better job at moisturizing my lips than Blistex. Overall, I can say Blistex works, and better than most CPG brands out there. The only con that I can come up with is the need to stick my finger in the container, which may sometimes be unsanitary. Otherwise, I would recommend it. -

I was first exposed to this lip balm when I saw a friend using it and was immediately attracted to it for its innovative/gimmicky design. No longer did I need to stick a finger in a container, or even use chapstick to run through the top and bottom of my lips. I was sold based on packaging alone. When I came across it at Shoppers Drug Mart, I immediately picked up 2 - the Honeysuckle Honeydew and the Cool Mint. Unfortunately, both of these eos lip balms were disappointing. Of the two scents, Cool Mint was definitely better than Honeydew, but still smelt artificial. Neither of them did it's one job of moisturizing my lips. After applying, it felt like I just coated my lips with a thin plastic seal, after which, the skin on my lips peeled right off. Sidenote: I don't know how, but little specks of dirt/dust from my bag seemed to also collect up in the crevices where the container twists to close which leads me to question how sanitary it is. Overall, I don't recommend this product, even if it is on sale. Ever since, I've switched over to Burt's Bees lip balms. -

If I ever run out of foundation and need to pick up something from the drugstore, this is my go-to foundation. Over the course of 3 years, I've managed to run through 5 bottles of this foundation. Although I haven't been wearing it recently, I really enjoyed this foundation in the past for a few reasons. First and foremost, the price of the foundation is amazing. In the past, I was able to pick up this foundation on sale for approximately $10-$15. As an everyday foundation, this is hard to beat. On the topic of wearing it daily, this foundation was light-weight. I never appeared cakey or as if I wore too much makeup. Lastly, the shade selection is huge. I have yellow undertones, and W4 tends to match me, moreso in the summer than the winter. Nonetheless, there are a whooping 23 shades to choose from, so there is bound to be one that matches you! The two downsides I found while wearing this foundation were: 1) this foundation contains SPF 17, and so I often avoided wearing it formal occasions or events where I knew there would be photography; 2) I have oily skin, and I've noticed that this foundation isn't long lasting. Even after setting my makeup, approximately 6 hours later, I'm oily once again and the foundation seems to slide off my face, especially in the heat.
Coverage: Light-to-medium, buildable
Consistency: Runny consistency, making it feel light-weight on the skin
Shades: 23, divided up into cool, neutral, and warm tones
Finish: Dewy
SPF: 17
Overall, I love this foundation as an everyday wear, so long as you remember to touch up every couple of hours.
