Before getting a beauty blender, I tried cosmetic wedges and imitation sponges for a while. Both were decent, but in comparison to the beauty blender, I think there's a noticeable difference in makeup application. It really blends your makeup nicely, leaving you with a very natural finish (as opposed to blending with a brush). The only reasons I've stopped using it is because I find that it soaks up a lot of the product, in the process of making your makeup look natural. I also find that there's a higher maintenance when using the beauty blender - need to wash it more often, also harder to wash compared to brushes. I think there's a need to replace your beauty blenders because of all the germs that grow inside and how worn-down it can get, which is why I stick to my foundation brushes. Otherwise, I think it's a great product. -

This is one of my favourite drugstore foundations. Overall, it gives a medium coverage, which can be buildable. The way I apply it is by dipping my Sigma F80 brush to pick up product and stippling it over my face, then blending it in. It's not the most hygienic way, but it's the easiest way I've found. The finish is more on the dewy side. I love how quick and easy it is to get ready with this foundation. With convenience, I think that the price you pay is the lesser amount of product you would normally receive from a foundation. The only other downfall I see is the limited number of shades. I find that the shade I normally use is still a bit too dark to pull off during the winter.
Coverage: Medium
Consistency: Mousse
Shades: 9
Finish: Dewy

This "primer" is really just average all-around. It comes in a glass-jar as a thick paste consistency. When I use it, I don't notice anything remarkable, as opposed to if I didn't use it under my foundation. It's not terrible, but it also doesn't have any noticeable benefits. As a result, I simply don't reach for it anymore. It's priced at around $15 for a drug-store primer, which I find a bit expensive. My recommendation is to just save your money and invest in a high-end primer from Sephora, as none at the drugstore really seem to work. -

This is the only high-end foundation I own, so I can't compare this foundation to any others, but I can say that I love it. It is on the heavier side, so I don't use this on a regular basis as it's definitely a full-coverage foundation, but it's perfect for nights out or when you want to look flawless in photos. Its price point is average amongst other high-end foundations. There are plenty of shades to choose from, so definitely no issues there. I wouldn't say it wears for 15 hours, or even looks remotely similar to when first applied 15 hours later, but it is long lasting.
Coverage: Medium-Full
Consistency: Runny
Shades: 30 (based off Sephora's website)
Finish: Dewy
SPF: None
Overall, if you're in the market for a full-coverage foundation, I highly recommend it. Otherwise, if you have amazing skin, I would probably recommend something lighter like MUFE's Ultra HD Foundation. I'm considering re-purchasing it again once I run out, as opposed to trying some other new high-end foundation. It's really that amazing. Half a star knocked off simply because of the price point.

I use to think that my favourite foundation at the drugstore was L'Oreal's Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation because my skin's naturally oily in the T-zone and that foundation held up for many hours, moreso than this Maybelline foundation. But recently, I've noticed that my pores have been looking awfully large and the L'Oreal foundation seems to sink into these pores. When I use the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless though, I don't notice this problem. The only downside I have is the longevity of it. I find that it wears for only 4-6 hours before I start getting oily, which is pretty unfortunate (not sure if it claims to 'control oils'). So, I normally wear it to run errands, etc. Price point is amazing, I can pick it up on sale for $7-8, or I think $10 normally.
Coverage: Medium
Consistency: Average
Shades: 12
Finish: Matte
SPF: None
Overall, if it held up longer during the day, it would be my favourite. Otherwise, I love it for its matte and poreless finish.

I've purchased this product twice in the past and always loved the smell, quality, and results. As winter approached this year, I started noticing that my skin was never hydrated enough, At the time, I thought that my moisturizing wasn't doing the job, so I started looking into more high-end ones. My skin-care routine revolved around my Clarisonic, a cleanser, and moisturizer. Occasionally, I would use a sheet mask. However, one day I noticed that ever since I've ran out of an exfoliator, my skin has felt dull and flaky. I decided to buy the Mask of Magnaminty once again because it's a two-in-one: mask and exfoliator. Ever since I've started using it again, I've noticed how baby soft my skin is afterwards, and how smooth my makeup applies as opposed to without using it. Highly recommend! -

I've tried a few dry shampoos, including various ones from the Batiste line, and I must say that this particular one is definitely my runner-up. Let me tell you why I love it so much, and why isn't quite in first place. First and foremost, the price of this dry shampoo is one of the cheapest in the market and of great value. I normally pick it up from Winners for $6.99+tax, which is comparatively cheaper than from Shoppers, even when it goes on sale there. I use it around 2 times a week, depending on how often I go out each week, when I'm in-between washes. For the amount of product I get in the can, I end up only going through about a can every 2-3 months (note: I use it sparingly on the roots of the top of my head where oils are most noticeable). Normally, I spray it first while getting ready, before I do my makeup, and leave it to sit. At the end of my routine, I notice that the white powder really absorbs all the oil and leaves my hair feeling fresher than previously. I don't feel insecure what-so-ever about whether my hair looks greasy or not, because I KNOW this does the trick (on every third day without washes, I notice that it's a little less effective, and I FEEL dirty). I usually don't have to brush it out or rub it in, however, I do think there is a slight grey cast after the product has sunk in. This is why this product does not sit in my number one spot. It's not very noticeable and doesn't bother me, otherwise I would make more effort into rubbing it in, but Batiste also makes a dry shampoo for those with dark-coloured hair (ie: me). With all the same great benefits, this other Batiste dry shampoo takes top honours. Unfortunately, I find it really hard to find, so I usually just settle with the Blush one instead. Overall, it is much MUCH more effective than any drugstore brand that has attempted to make a dry shampoo (ie: Dove, Herbal Essence) and baby powder and Lush's dry shampoo powder. Highly recommend! -

Hands down, this is my favourite foundation at the drugstore. it even sits in the top 5 of my favourite foundations I own. Everyday, when I put on my makeup, I reach for this foundation. Despite it being $15-$20 at the drugstore, I still think it is worth every penny. I love the consistency, the coverage, the shade selection (yellow undertones), and the longevity of this foundation. This is the perfect foundation for my oily skin as it dries to a matte finish. My only complaint is that during the winter months, the foundation does not look too flattering on dry patches, so moisturize VERY VERY well. After 6 hours of work, I notice that I have to blot/powder my face as I do get a bit oily once again, but nothing unmanageable. Does it last 24 hours? Probably not, but it does last longer than the average foundation. I've noticed that much of the foundation on my nose came off after rubbing it continuously throughout the day.
Coverage: Medium
Consistency: On the thicker side
Shades: 9
Finish: Matte
SPF: None
Overall, I give this foundation two thumbs up for those with normal-oily skin. I think that those with dry skin should stay away.

I'll never forget the first time I tried this mascara. I was blown away simply by the gel alone and how much length it gave my short, stubby, Asian lashes. After applying the fibres, however, my lashes looked full but fake and clumpy - not a look I strive for. Ever since, I've simply worn the gel on its own. Unfortunately, it doesn't do much to hold a curl for my lashes. I wish it was a waterproof formula for that reason. Is it worth $35 IMO? No. Most drugstore mascaras last a couple months before drying out, but while using this mascara, I've noticed that it's started to dry out within a month's time. Others cons I've noticed while using this mascara is the amount of effort needed to apply the gel and fibres. When applying the fibres, there may be fallout under the eyes. Fortunately, taking off this mascara is much easier than taking off any other waterproof mascara. Nonetheless, I think I'll stick to my falsies and drugstore waterproof mascaras in the future. Sidenote: great packaging by the way. -
