I was looking to try an organic moisterizer and MC recommended Exuberance products to me. I was very impressed with the quality of service from the staff. They were friendly, helpful and very promptly returned my emails. They shipped the product right to my door and I received my moisterizer within 2 days after I've placed the order.
The moisterizer is fabulous. I've been using it for a few days now. The lotion is light and fast absorbing, leaving my skin feeling smooth and soft. I am very picky about the scent of facial products and I've never been a huge fan of rose. But this Indian Rose scent was perfect, very light and very pleasant.
In terms of price, I think for an organic moisterizer, $46 ( tax) is very reasonable, especially for a high quality product. The only downside to this lotion is that it offers no SPF production against the sun, so you'll have to use an additional sunscreen if you plan on going out into the sun in the summer.
I highly recommend this face lotion. It's a really wonderful product and I look forward to trying other products from Exuberance!

I went to the Madisons Spa yesterday for a Deluxe Pedicure. This pedicure included a seaweek masque, a parafin application, foot massage, leg scrub and a pedicure. I requested a French pedicure and the guy did a WONDERFUL job!! My toes have never looked prettier. The spa atmosphere was relaxing and the staff was friendly. I enjoyed my experience there very much and I would definitely go back in the future to try their other services.
Madisons Spa is located in a little strip mall on 1234 Merivale Road. It's sort of hidden behind a Tim Horton's but they do have a sign up by the road. It's been open for about 5 years but I never noticed its presence until last week. So be careful not to drive by the location too quickly, otherwise you'll miss it!!

Premise: Helen was romantically involved with a married man for 4 long years. When he finally left his wife to be with her, she decided she doesn't love this man afterall and she couldn't wait to get rid of him!! Helen felt terrible about what she had done to this family and she devised a plan that would free herself from this relationship and right her wrong-doing at the same time.
I bought this book because I wanted something fun and light to read. Although this book didn't turn out the be "hilarious" as described on the cover, I did enjoy it a lot and I couldn't put it down. I found the premise of the book very intriguing and very different from other chicklit I've read. I love the characters in the book and I thought Jane Fallon did a wonderful job on the character development. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a cute summer read.

I was surprised by how nice this Aveeno lip conditioner is. It glides on the lips smoothly without leaving a waxy feeling. It has a light yummy vanilla scent and it doesn't have any weird taste. I put it on before going to bed and my lips are still soft and moisterized in the morning. I'm very happy with this product and I'll definitely buy it again in the future! -

I've heard a lot of good things about Aveeno products but I wasn't crazy over the few face care I've tried because I didn't like the smell. However, I really love this foot cream because the scent is light (peppermint) and it's super moisterizing. If you have dry feet all year round, this is the product for you. It moisterizes your skin instantly without leaving a greasy yucky feeling. I've been putting this on every night before heading to bed and when I wake up in the morning, my feet still feel nice and soft. I love soaking my feet in warm water for 5-10 min and relax the muscles before massaging my feet with this cream. Soaking your feet first will help the cream lock in the moisture in your skin and maximize its effect. -

I got this book through the Product Review Club on CA. It is the story of two best friends whose souls were switched and trapped in each other's body for a month. This bizarre event forced them to walk in each other's shoes and experience the lives they wish they have. During this time, the girls learned that the grass only appears to be greener on the other side. They realized that each person has their own problems and they gained new respect and admiration for each other.
The idea of switching bodies and living other people's lives is not novel, but nevertheless, the book was entertaining and I enjoyed it very much. Mary Castillo is a witty writer with wonderful insights into womanhood. The character development between the girls and their guys were well established. I particularly enjoyed the interactions between the girls because it's very real. These girls might be best friends but their lives are very different; therefore the choices they make are also different and they may not necessarily agree or understand the other person. This is much more realistic and easier to relate to than having main characters sharing the perfect utopic friendship.
I look forward to reading more books written by Mary Castillo. It's a fun chicklit and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a fun read.

Once in a blue moon, I'd wander into the Godiva Chocolatier and treat myself to a small Godiva chocolate bar or a piece of truffles. This time, I simply couldn't resist their new chocolate pearls. There are three different flavours: milk chocolate, dark chocolate and dark chocolate with mint. I bought the dark chocolate with mint and it was a very wise choice. The dark chocolate is smooth and delicious, with just the right amount of mint flavour. The pearls come in a fancy little box and it's great for carrying it around in your purse. With a chocolate bar, I gobble it down quickly and always sad when the chocolate is gone. But these little pearls are great because there are so many in the box and overall, the chocolates last much longer!! Yumm!! -

I love nifty little gadgets and I was really excited when my hubby and I received this GPS system for X'mas last year. This GPS system can do more than just navigate your way from place to place. It allows you to program in your destinations and save them as "Favourites", so you can find them easily next time. It also announces the navigation instructions so you won't need to look at the GPS map to know where you are going next. You can customize the settings such as using miles or km, finding the quickest or major routes, etc. You can also play your favourite music on the GPS while you cruise.
We immediately charged it up and gave it a try on our way to a new restaurant. We know our city pretty well, so we already knew how to get to the place without the aid of a map. So we were a little disappointed with the overall usability of the GPS. First of all, it took about 10 min for the system to detect our location. Considering our drive to the restaurant only took 20 min, we were half way there by the time the GPS figured out where we were. We also chose not to take the recommended route because we wanted to avoid traffic. So we went another way we know and the GPS was able to readjust its navigational course as we diverted from the recommended route. However, it was unable to detect some of the roads we were on and kept telling us that we were "off road" and we had to "proceed to the nearest road". We were frustrated because the GPS did a lot of "yelling" in its annoying nasal-y voice and beeped a lot because we were Off-Road. Our first impression - Not good at all.
We've tried the GPS a few more times after that and for the most part, it worked well as long as we stick to its recommended route. We thought maybe we were frustrated with it because we tried using the GPS to navigate destinations we already know and we often chose to ignore it. So we took the GPS to Quebec City and it got us into such a mess!! We've been to Old Quebec before using a good ol' paper map, so we kind of knew where we needed to be. But we wanted to give the GPS one more chance so we followed its instructions. The GPS took us through some weird route and onto a very busy street with high traffic volume. We kept missing our turn offs and we were so frustrated. We eventually found our hotel and the hotel staff showed us a much easier way to get into Old Quebec. We were not happy with our GPS at all.
The biggest problem with the GPS is that it figures out the shortest route which it assumes to be the fastest, without taking into account the speed limit, or traffic volume or the complexity of the route. Sometimes the shortest route may not necessarily be the fbest route. Also, while the screen is a decent size screen, it is just no substitute for having a nice paper map in front of you so that you can see the big picture of where you are going. The GPS display allows you to zoom in and out on the map. However, I found if I zoom in enough to see the street names, I lose sight of where I am on the map/route; but if I zoom out to see where I am on the map, I lose the details on street names.
Overall, the GPS navigation system just wasn't very convenient to use and I prefer a good old fashion map over it any day. It is expensive and it's not worth the money at all. My recommendation is take that extra 10-15 min in front of the computer with MapQuest or GoogleMap, figure out where you are going and find it on your paper map before heading out. Old school style navigation is much more reliable and effective than this fancy piece of technology.

I went shopping for a pair of comfortable flats for the summer and I had my heart set on a pair of Skechers. I found them at various stores but SoftMoc had the best price. I don't normally shop there because I find their shoes expensive and it's not always trendy. However, they sell comfortable, practical and high quality shoes which was what I was looking for this time.
I found the sale staff to be helpful and friendly. While I was trying on my shoes, there was an old lady next to me who was also looking for a pair of comfortable flats. The sales person must've brought her all the shoes in the store and he patiently explained to her the best qualities of each shoe. I don't know if he made the sale in the end but I was very very impressed with his service.
SoftMoc carried the Skecher flats I was looking for but unfortunately, they didn't have the brown in my size. SoftMoc offers an ordering service where I can get the shoes I want and then have them directly sent to my house!! I didn't know they did that. The best thing about this service is that if the shoes don't fit or damaged or I simply changed my mind when they arrive, I can always bring them back to SoftMoc for refund/exchange within 14 days.
While you won't find Hip n' Trendy in this store, you'll not be disappointed in the comfort of their shoes or the quality of service from their staff.
