I received a free trial of Vileda's Scrunge Multi-use sponge and was amazed. I can believe how well this sponge works. The rough side removes food easily from pots and pans and does not scratch or harm the finish on my fry pans or pots. The sponge lasts way longer than your typical yellow, kitchen sponges and doesn't really harbour any nasty smells. I will definitely be buying this product again and am so glad I got to try it! #gotitfree -

I recently received AVEENO® Absolutely Ageless® Leave-on Mask to try for free and was impressed. The mask goes on well and doesn't really leave your skin feeling greasy. I also like that it only has a very mild, slightly floral scent. I don't want products that have heavy scents on my face. After using the mask for about 2 weeks, I would say that my skin appears more hydrated, I'm not sure if I have fewer fine lines, but my skin feels healthy and I didn't have any adverse reactions to the product! Initially I was a little disappointed that the mask did not contain sunscreen, but when I researched the product it looks like it might, as the American labels mention an SPF 30. If the mask does contain sunscreen, it would be nice if Aveeno made that more obvious on the Canadian box. The other improvement I would make concern the usage instructions. Currently the label just tells you to put it on and rub it in. I wanted to know if it was recommended to put on under other make-up products, should I put it on before bed etc? None of these questions are addressed on the current labeling. -

Aveeno's Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm does work. I get eczema all over my hands, so they are dry and cracked. The balm helps to relieve the itch and start to heal up your hands. As with other Aveeno eczema products it has the Eczema Society's accepted seal and the product contains ceramides which help heal.
My only concern is the thickness of the product. It is a very heavy cream and it takes awhile to be fully absorbed by the skin, especially if applied to instructions (ie. 'apply liberally')! So, basically it works but is a thicker heavier cream. If you have a big eczema flare-up though, I think it is worth using. I will purchase the product again. #tryAveenoEczema #gotitfree

I love lemon poppy seed and I was really excited to taste the PowerBar ProteinPlus Reduced Sugar Lemon Poppy Seed, however I was really disappointed. While the protein content is decent and there isn't a lot of sugar in the product the flavour is unpleasant. The lemon is almost an afterthought and the texture of the bar is very chalky. The bars have the texture of baked goods where the the baking soda hasn't been fully mixed into the batter. The poor texture combined with the flavour would prevent me from purchasing or recommending this product. I received this product free to test for ChickAdvisor. #gotitfree -

The PowerBar ProteinPlus Reduced Sugar Creamy Chocolate Peanut Butter tastes alright. You definitely get the peanut butter/chocolate taste and there isn't that aftertaste that you often associate with a reduced sugar product. My one drawback is the slightly chalky texture that the bars have, they have the texture of baked goods where the the baking soda hasn't been fully mixed into the batter. This texture would make me hesitate a bit before purchasing again. That being said the protein content is pretty good and the bar filled me up for the afternoon one day when I had forgotten lunch at work, so it does what it is supposed to do. I was impressed with the Arm and Hammer Slide Easy Clean-Up Clumping Litter. I have two senior cats and neither one of them was put off by the litter. While the clumps still clung to the sides and bottom of the litter box I found they came off a lot easier without a lot of scraping. The clumps also tended to hold together while picking and moving the clumps. On the whole the slide factor works well. The product has a bit more scent to it then I would like, I wish that was a bit more neutral, but on the whole it was good. I will purchase this again. #gotitfree -

This was great. The moisturizer wasn't heavily scented, it just had a nice light smell, which I like. While it said the cream absorbs instantly, I wouldn't totally agree with the 'instantly' part, but it does absorb super quick. It didn't feel greasy or heavy when it was applied and it did absorb pretty quick. I didn't have any reaction to the cream and didn't have any problems with blackheads forming after use. I will purchase this again. -

I received a box of chocolate Carnation Breakfast Essentials to try for ChickAdvisor. The idea is that you can get many of the essential nutrients needed from one packet mixed into a 250 ml glass of milk at Breakfast. While I didn't love the product, it isn't bad. It does taste chocolatey, it isn't the best tasting 'chocolate milk' I've ever had, but it also isn't chalky tasting. The biggest issue I had was getting it o dissolve in cold milk. It didn't matter how well I tried to mix, I always had powdery lumps in it. The breakfast essentials are nice in that they provide 60, 90, 35 and 50% of your daily intake of thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, and iron, respectively when mixed into milk; not bad. Carnation is a little sneaky in suggesting that the product provides 50% of your required Calcium and Vitamin D, but on closer inspection you realize that those values come entirely (Vitamin D) or almost entirely (calcium) from the milk and not the Carnation product. Since the product does actually provide you with several nutrients legitimately on its own, I wish Carnation didn't have the 'Calcium/Vitamin D' claim on the front of the box, but that is just me. While there are specific situations where I might want to use the product, in a huge hurry or after getting wisdom teeth out, I doubt I would use it on a regular basis. While I tried the chocolate flavour, they also come in vanilla and strawberry for those of you who would prefer other flavours. -

I've been testing the Nivea Protect & Care deodorant for the past week for Chick Advisor and have liked what I've noticed...and not smelled! The Nivea deodorant is competitively priced. The product went on smoothly and didn't leave any noticeable white marks, but that being said I haven't tested the product with the dreaded black dress, only my work clothes! While Nivea claims the deodorant 'cares for delicate underarm skin', I'm not sure if I really noticed any difference in that area compared to other products; that being said it definitely wasn't worse! As for odour protection the product preformed well while I worked outdoors each day. As with many other deodorant products Nivea claims the product works for 48 hours, and again, as with many other similar products I would doubt the validity of that claim unless you were lying on the couch all day! For normal, outdoor work the Nivea deodorant works great and I will purchase it again in the future.

I received the Nivea Creme Care facial cleansing wipes to try for Chick Advisor and they work pretty well, the product is just not my favourite. The wipes are easy to use and for the most part the cloth was moist across the length of it, so it presumably had the cleanser along the whole thing. I was able to effectively remove any make-up I was wearing and the product didn't irritate my skin. Additionally the wipes didn't have a super strong scent, although the scent was stronger than some of the other Nivea products I've tried. The issues I have with the product include the waste issue. I really dislike throwing all that excessive waste into landfill, I can't really justify buying something I'm going to use once and toss out. I also don't like the price, why would you pay $8.99 for 25 wipes or in theory 25 face washes? -
