McCain's Sweet Potato fries are the perfect treat for the end of the day! They cook up nice and crispy when you cook them in either the oven or the acti-fryer and they are delicious. I like to make a garlic dipping sauce to go with the sweet potato fries, but they taste wonderful on their own too. The only, very minor, disappointment is that they cost the same amount as the normal potato fries, but there are fewer in the bag. -

I like Mango and I like Coconut, but unfortunately I didn't really enjoy the combination of flavours in this Brookside chocolate bar. The dark chocolate was delicious, as always but I found the Mango flavouring a bit off and couldn't really taste the coconut. The coconut flakes were present and provided texture to the bar, but the taste was missing. For $3.65 a bar I would not purchase this one again, but that is primarily based on taste preference for me. The quality of the bar is there for those who better appreciate the coconut and mango flavouring Brookside has presented.

As far as cooking and preparing the product, it is super easy; taking only minutes to pop them in the oven or acti-fryer (they work really well in this). The lattice cut gives the fries a different appearance and is nice for a change of pace too. -

I really enjoyed the Brookside blueberry almond chocolate bar. The bar looks really nice with the different designs imprinted on the chocolate and I like that you can select different sized squares to break off and savour. The bar has the delicious dark chocolate we've come to expect from Brookside, coupled with the blueberry flavouring. The one new addition to this bar are the almonds which not only add flavour but also texture. It is definitely an indulgent treat!

Wow, a definite new favourite! The first thing I noticed is that I could smell the cherry when I opened the chocolate. The second thing I noticed was the design Brookside had incorporated into the bar itself. There were geometric designs, the name Brookside, and a tree. The chocolate squares were breakable in different sized squares, dependent on snacking needs (maybe)! Regardless, it was attractive and eye-catching. Then to top it all off the bar had Brookside's typical delicious dark chocolate paired with the the tart cherry. The 'crisp' bit were a few puffed rice bits at the bottom of the bar, which helped to provide texture. All, in all, a great chocolate bar and a wonderful treat. For me, as much as I loved the chocolate it will only ever remain a treat for me; at $3.95 per bar, it is on the expensive side for an everyday occurrence.

I had completely forgotten how good the McCain Tasti Taters are! I found myself staring at the bag in the grocery store a few days ago, caved, and picked them up for supper. I love the crisp outer coating of the taters and the soft, potato filling. They were a definite treat on a winter evening. As for preparation, there essentially is none: cut the bag open, dump on cookie tray, and stick in oven. Super easy. Definitely a nice comforting treat! -

The Scotch Essentials Permanent Hem Bonding Strips definitely hold, I will say that for them. I was not as excited about the Permanent hem strips as I was about the adjustable hem strips I got to sample for ChickAdvisor. Although I was super excited to hem a pair of my favourite jeans so that they stayed at the length I wanted, I found the process a bit frustrating. The glue or adhesive on the strips is VERY sticky. While this is required to make the hem permanent, it is quite hard to work with. The glue sticks quickly so you need to know exactly where you are putting the strip and you need to be quick, if you're not there will be problems. The backing on the strips doesn't always come off easily so I found I was fighting with that, then my fingers got sticky, then it really didn't peel off nicely...so basically a vicious cycle! I used the product on a pair of jeans and it worked, it held the hem where I wanted it, but some of the adhesive oozed out onto the back of my jeans. I think if I had tried this on a pair of summer slacks, the adhesive may have shown through the fabric, which wouldn't have impressed me so much. From an aesthetics point of view, I missed the actual 'sewn' hem look once I was done; the jeans were not as dressy looking as I had hoped. All in all, the product did do what it claimed and I didn't have to sew, but I probably won't use it again. -

I am really happy I got to try the Adjustable Hem Tape for ChickAdvisor. I am petite so I have a challenge buying pants that fit me and don't drag on the ground when I wear them...additionally I am an awful sewer when I have to use a machine! I used the hem tape on a pair of jeans and had pretty good luck. It was relatively easy to use, even without ironing. The product kept the jean hem up and off the ground for the entire day, which made me happy. A few things I would warn about, would be that you need to apply these in fairly good light, at least the first time. I found the instructions a little difficult to read, they were kind of small and I really needed the good light in my kitchen to read them and figure out where I needed to put the strips on my jeans. You do need to plan ahead when you are hemming your pants though. This is not really a two minute fix, it does take a bit longer. Also you need to remember to remove the tape prior to putting your clothes in the washer, so remember you will be 'hemming' again the next time you wear it. -

The package I received to try contained a total of four shirt buttons. The two white buttons I used and could see using more often, since most of my blouse buttons are white. I would have liked a darker colour in my package for the other two buttons though, perhaps a black or a navy blue, but that is just me and my clothes colours! Actually using the repair kit is pretty easy, the fastener or clip holding the button on is large so you do need to have a blousey fitting shirt, form fitting ones would be a bit tough. For me though, having the button is the challenge point. If I have a button and a bit of thread, sewing a loose button back on is super easy. Although this kit works well, quickly hand-sewing a button on is just as easy (the trick is having everything you need on hand)! For me, I probably wouldn't use this product that often, I would rather sew a button on myself. That being said, if you are absolutely not a sewer this is for you, it is quick, it is easy, AND it holds! -

I was asked to sample CeraVe's Intensive Stretch Mark Cream and give my opinion of the product. First off, I love that the CeraVe products are fragrance and paraben free. I also like that the creams contain ceramides, which help skin retain moisture. The stretch mark cream goes on easily and doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky or greasy, which is a huge plus. After using the product for about 3.5 weeks I have noticed some reduction in stretch marks. I wouldn't say they have completely disappeared, but they are a little less noticeable. I am planning on continuing to use the product and will likely use it in the future, but not just because of the stretch mark feature. I actually like how the product moisturizes my skin and I think I will continue to use it in the future for this reason, especially at its price. -
