For dry skin girlies like myself, we usually fear words like "waterproof," "matte" and "setting powder." But being a fan of Urban Decay, and the Face Bond Self Setting Waterproof Foundation having skincare benefits like 3% niacinamide, I wanted to still give it a shot! After testing it for over a week, I was so pleasantly surprised. I applied my usual moisturizer and primer first. After applying the foundation with a sponge, it is definitely lightweight like it advertises and did not feel heavy or cakey. It looks very skin-like in terms of texture - not too matte and not too shiny. I found setting it with my setting spray cured any imperfections. I always have reservations about anything being waterproof, but honestly, this consistently stayed put for entire 8-hour shifts. Although I do have dry skin, my forehead does tend to get a bit shiny by the end of the day and it did still happen wearing this foundation. But other than that, I was super impressed with this and plan to continue using it!

I was excited to try the Lancôme Rénergie H.C.F. Triple Anti-Aging Serum. You only need a small amount for your entire face/neck. It is quite oily and does feel a bit greasy, but if you have dry skin like me, this won't be something you mind too much. Due to its oily consistency, though, you do need to give it time to dry down. My skin was noticeably more moisturized and plump after applying and gave me a nice glow. It makes your skin look more youthful and fresh. It was not irritating in any way and sometimes I can have sensitive skin, especially when it comes to Vitamin C products. I also had no issues using this under makeup and also sunscreen (which you need when using Vitamin C). My foundation still looked great! On the days I didn't use this, I could see the difference. I will definitely continue to use this serum! -

The Chapman's Super Premium Plus Chocolate & Brownies ice cream is one for the chocolate lovers. It's very rich and creamy, and it has both white chocolate and brownie pieces throughout with a brownie batter ripple. It is definitely quite sweet and indulgent. It is quite pricey for 500ml (almost $7), so this would just be a once-in-a-while treat for me. Overall, I would certainly recommend this for anyone who loves high quality ice cream, chocolate or brownies. -

This eco-friendly refill pouch for Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash is great! It is easy to use and better than buying another bottle since it uses 80% less plastic than the 975mL. I truly appreciate a brand that tries to reduce their carbon footprint and reduce plastic use in their packaging. The body wash also does not use harmful ingredients for the skin like parabens, phthalates, dyes, soap and alcohol. Since I already love this body wash for my dry skin, I'm much more inclined to support a brand that cares about the planet and is making strides to reduce waste. If I can buy an eco-friendly refill pouch, all the more reason to keep using this product. -

After testing Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash, I can say it lives up to its promises. The product claims to be lightly scented and this is very much the case. It is not overpowering and smells very nice and spa-like. I used a silicone body scrubber and was able to work up a good lather. The texture is very smooth and creamy, like a moisturizer, and feels gentle on the skin. The colloidal oatmeal, natural oils and emollients left my skin feeling very moisturized even though I suffer from dry skin, especially right now during winter. I also love that the product is soap-free and dye-free and made without parabens, phthalates and alcohol. I had no reactions to it at all. Overall, I did feel my skin felt more moisturized coming out of the shower than usual and would recommend this to anyone with dry skin. The eco-friendly refill pouch available for this product, which uses 80% less plastic than the bottles, is also great. I love a brand that cares about the planet! -

I received a free foil sachet to try of the Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil and used it to remove a full day of face makeup. I found it worked fairly well and removed almost all of it. I tested this by going over my face with a makeup wipe aftward and it picked up very little remainder. Due to the perfume scent, I chose not to use this to remove my eye makeup as I have very sensitive eyes. I prefer unscented cleansers and skin products, but this had a floral scent that was fairly prominent. If you do not like floral scents, this is probably not for you. Thankfully it did not linger after rinsing or cause any irritation. Despite being an oil, I did not find my skin oily (or dry!) aftward, nor did I feel any leftover residue or stickiness. My skin felt soft and hydrated, and also very clean. Since this was only a foil sample, I cannot speak to any longterm benefits. This cleanser, so far, has done what it promises. #tryShuUemura -

As someone with very dry skin – even more so in the Canadian winter months – this oil mist came at just the right time for testing. I absolutely love oils of any kind, whether it’s for face or body. It's definitely great this product is 98% naturally derived ingredients and doesn't contain parabens, phthalates, silicones, mineral oil, synthetic dyes or alcohol. I love jojoba oil and think it does a great job moisturizing my skin. I have been using this right out of the shower and it’s been fending off gross, dry winter skin. It absorbs well and within a fair amount of time into the skin and doesn’t leave a residue. I think the spray bottle is a great idea, although it is kind of hard to press down on sometimes and the bottle can get kind of greasy and difficult to handle. The packaging could use some improvements. This oil is slightly scented, which is worth noting. I would prefer an unscented product because dry skin can be sensitive and that is who this product is mainly for. But overall, I’ve been loving this oil mist and would definitely purchase again! -

This Aveeno Revitalizing Body Wash Prebiotic Oat + Green Tea is a very enjoyable body wash to use. It’s great that it has 98% naturally derived ingredients and that would make me choose this over another product. I really like the scent, which is a very fresh but subtle scent, not overpowering like a lot of body washes can be. I have very dry skin, and this did not bother me at all. My skin felt very soft after my showers and very moisturized. It didn’t leave any sort of film or residue; it rinsed off well and my skin felt clean.
My only issue with this body wash is that it's extremely watery, making it quite messy and hard to use. Whether you are using your hands or a loofah/sponge, it’s hard to pour directly on to anything without some waste. In addition, that also means it doesn’t lather very well and therefore I found myself using a lot more than a thicker body wash that lathers more. I do wish it was a thicker consistency for more ease of use and a better lather.
Overall though, I did like the product and would recommend it based on the good ingredients and scent.

The AVEENO Positively Radiant Cleanser has a thick and soft consistency when applied and feels almost like a moisturizer. It does have a bit of a scent but it isn't overpowering. Because it is so thick I did find it a bit hard to rinse off and it took a bit longer than other cleansers. I personally would not use this to take off makeup because it is scented and I don't want it near my eyes. My main concerns with this cleanser are that my skin burned for a while after I washed it off. I don't normally have sensitive skin so I'm not sure what the issue was other than this is not meant for people with dry skin, despite its moisturizing properties. Although my skin looked nice and refreshed, it felt tight and a bit dry after using this and I assume that is why it may have been burning. I think this is a cleanser for people with oily skin and will work great for those people. But I don't think this is great for people with very dry skin like mine and I won't be using it again due to the burning sensation I experienced. I love AVEENO but not this particular product. -

As a big fan of herbal tea, I was excited to try this Teapigs Organic Trim tea that supports metabolism, alertness and mental performance. This fruity tea contains apple, rosehip, peach, white hibiscus, liquorice root and guarana seed. Right away while steeping, it smelled delicious and almost tropical! The tea definitely tasted great... I could not taste the exact fruits on their own but could tell it was a fruity herbal tea and it was very subdued. I do personally prefer a stronger fruit flavour though, so I added some sugar to try and bring this out. I found the sugar did bring out more of that fruit flavour for sure and would drink this tea with some sugar or honey in the future. Due to the flavour profile, because it is so fruit-based, I am actually curious to try this tea iced because I think it would be really good. Overall, this is a great tea. I would prefer it to be a bit stronger in flavour because even when I let it steep much longer than instructed, it was still a bit weak for my tastes. But that said, I still enjoyed the flavours and think they are brought out nicely by some sugar or honey. I will also be trying this iced as well as I think that will taste really yummy. -
