I had my CHI straightener for about a year and I really loved the way it worked. However, not too long after I got it I started having issues with the on/off switch until finally it stopped turning on at all.
When I went back into the store they told me that other people had this same problem, so I chose a different brand to buy next. But I actually just went into a Beauty Supply Outlet yesterday and they told me that during the time I purchased mine (I think it was about 4 years ago now), CHI straighening irons were being manufactured in China and so the quality went down the tubes. Apparently they are now being made in the USA again and so the quality of the new ones is improved.
Another problem with the CHI straighteners is that they are coated with ceramic, so underneath is metal. This is really damaging to your hair, but it heats up really fast and that it can straighten your hair so fast.

I'll be honest, when I first smelled this perfume I wasn't into it. I usually go for light and fruity smells (I realize I repeat this in many of my reviews!) so I think I was initially taken aback a bit by the distinct scent.
But when I attended ChickAdvisor's Womanity party I walked into the room and the first thing I thought was "wow this place smells great!" We learned that it's a blend of salty and savoury scents and one of the main components is fig! I found it really interesting to learn that when Thierry Mugler created this perfume, he asked for sweet and savoury scents, but NONE of the scents from their classic "Angel" fragrance could be repeated. I love that this is something entirely new and different!
Womanity is perfect for women who get noticed when they walk into a room because it's so unique.
And I must note that while I'm really not a huge fan of pink, there's just something about pink perfume bottles that I can't resist -- love this bottle! The fact that it is refillable is also a huge plus (not to mention incentive to go out and buy a refill for many people)

I received this product from the brand and right away I thought it sounded up my alley - a big brush (for my big hair) that has ceramic panels on it, so it is meant to cut down on time with hair straighteners.
I used it like an ordinary brush - I pulled pieces of my hair about 1" thick to work with at a time. It worked best to straighten and smooth when I kept rotating the brush so each part could move between the ceramic and the bristles. But the main problem with this is that you have to move from root to tip several times to dry each piece - which I personally find difficult to do with only 2 hands! In fairness....I find it awkward to dry my hair with any hairbrush, I just mean that to get the full effect of this brush you really need to keep your arms moving!
I definitely still needed to use a straightener afterwards, but this brush did help to straighten and smooth my hair! It truly did reduce time spend with my hair straightener; which hopefully will help keep my hair healthier in the long run!
Plus, I found that it wasn't too heavy and didn't pull hard on my hair! So all in all, I do like this brush! It is definitely a bit of a splurge but it does the job

I got a set of satsuma products for my birthday and I love the scent! I'm addicted to the body butter right now, I just feel so fresh and clean when I can smell it! My skin can get really dry so I like that this product is nice and thick. The price however, I am not too crazy about....
I actually put some on the other day and walked by a group of girls and they stopped me to ask if I was wearing satsuma because they recognized the scent!

I received this airbrush system from the brand a while ago and I tried this for the first time today on my sister.
In the packaging it looks really daunting! I'm used to small tubes but this is makeup you have to plug it!! So I've been putting off trying it because I figured it would take some time to figure out. It comes with the main system that plugs into the wall and feeds the air from a tube to the airbrush. It also comes with 3 AIR pods: one each that contains foundation, blush, and highlighter.
Once I actually pulled it out, I opened the Quick Start manual and got everything set up and ready in about 3 minutes (not bad at all). I attached the foundation AIR pod and was nervous to get started, but once I started going, it actually comes out quite slowly. There was no need to be nervous about it, it applies so evenly. It really covered up any redness my sister had on her face and looked totally natural. She even had a blemish that was covered up! Then we used the blush on the apples of her cheeks and lightly up her cheekbones. I noticed after I finished them both that the second cheek looked better - I guess a bit of practice helped! It really is amazingly easy to use! Her face looked so smooth after we were finished! I recommend using it in natural light so it's easier to see since it comes out slowly.
I will absolutely be using it on myself very soon. Would I buy refills of the AIR pods when they run out? (supposed to last 2 months using it daily) I'm not sure yet since they are quite expensive. I guess I'll have to wait and see exactly how much I use it!
But if money is no issue or you need something fancy for a special day (i.e. a wedding), I would recommend this.

I am absolutely crazy about this scrub! First of all it smells divine! It's so fruity and fresh and your entire bathroom will be filled with the scent once you start scrubbing! I used my hands to apply it because it doesn't really lather too much, but it does feel really soothing on my skin. It also contains large beads for exfoliating which tend to get lost if I were to use a loofah.
It leaves a bit of a coating on your skin - but not in a "I didn't rinse my body wash off completely" sort of way. It was as if I already applied a lotion! I was all set to moisturize after my shower but I truly didn't need to after using this. (But do make sure that you rinse off really well, I'd say an extra minute or two longer than other products because this really sticks to your skin).
I received mine from the brand but for only $14.99 I will absolutely be picking this up again once it is available on store shelves in September 2010. I am SO impressed.

This is the first Moroccanoil product I have tested and after reading such amazing things about Moroccanoil I was really excited to try this out.
The first time I used it I found that it made my curls look tamed, but it left my hair feeling really coarse. Basically it felt the way it would if I had not put anything in it. I tried it again to the same result. Then, because I had such high hopes for the product I gave it a third shot and this time I put a lot more product in my hair. Doing this actually weighed my hair down and took some of the natural curl out of it. I was left with just waves. Also, from using more product, this time it left my hair feeling kind of sticky... as if it never fully dried properly.
I received my product from the brand, but I would not purchase it again. However, I would still purchase other Moroccanoil products.

I got a custom blend body lotion from bodyFood and I'm impressed. I got to choose 4 essential oil and picked Fennel as the scent I wanted to be the strongest, and Tangerine is the second most noticeable scent.
What I like is that it smells really strong at first but after 5 minutes it dissipates. The lotion blends into my skin easily and does not leave me feeling greasy.

The store sells body and face aromatherapy products and everything in the store is Canadian made and 100% natural. There are pre-made products you can pick up or you can get a custom blend made where you choose several essentials oils to mix with a base product to get a scent of your choosing. The products are similar to Kiehl's but the prices are better - around $30 each. The packaging is very simple, which would help keep the price low.
The store itself is small with a really nice atmosphere; when you walk in you immediately smell the essential oils. I was invited to the store by the company, but I would go back in the future.

First of all, when I applied it in the morning it literally looked like I was wearing false lashes. I have long lashes to begin with but when I applied a few coats of this mascara it added major extensions to them! I actually showed my mother and she thought that the mascara added so much length that it would be too dramatic for everyday use! (But that's her opinion, I think many people want big drama all the time!). Because it adds so much length, I got quite a bit on my upper eye lid, so be prepared for that.
I actually wore it to a wedding and let's just say I was a bit of a sap throughout the day...but my mascara never ran!
I received mine from the brand but I ABSOLUTELY would purchase it again.
