I got a sample of this shave gel at Toronto Fashion Week. The bottle is very pretty but I found that it doesn't hold all that much because it used a quickly. It does leave my legs feeling smooth but I don't think it was any better or worse... +
I got a sample of this shave gel at Toronto Fashion Week. The bottle is very pretty but I found that it doesn't hold all that much because it used a quickly. It does leave my legs feeling smooth but I don't think it was any better or worse than other shave gels I've tried. The price is also quite steep for something that doesn't last particularly long, so I probably wouldn't buy this again.
For me, I'd rather invest in a good razor and shave with soap or conditioner as coating. I really don't notice my legs feeling any softer after shaving with a shave cream vs. with bar soap.

This body wash has a really fresh and fruity scent. At first I thought it would smell too strongly of orange but it is actually very pleasant. It also lathers really well and after stepping out of the shower I found that it left my skin feeling clean and moisturized.
I would recommend this product because it does the job and the price is right.

I've had very dry skin lately that I couldn't seem to get rid of until I tried this night creme. It doesn't spread very easily but I think that's because one of the main ingredients is a jelly - plus it's very thick. But this is perfect for dry skin. After only 2 days, my skin stayed moisturized throughout the day and the dry patches were taken care of.
The bonus with using Burt's Bees products are always that they use natural ingredients that are gentle but effective.
I definitely recommend this cream for dry skin. It is quite expensive but it's worth the splurge in the winter...in the summer it might be a bit too thick.

This curling stick is excellent. It's easy to use, works extremely fast (you only have to hold your hair around it for about 4 seconds to get results), and it provides a lasting curl.
I really dislike using the clip that many curling irons come with, but this one doesn't have a clip. You hold the hair onto the heated barrel with your hands. And it comes with a glove that protects your hand from the heat so you can touch the barrel.
This curling iron is really fantastic. The price might seem steep but it's worth it for a quality iron and I'm sure you can find it online for cheaper. The one I use is from Selfridges in the UK so I'm not exactly sure where you can buy it here other than on Amazon.com, but Jose Eber is a hairstylist based in LA so I'm certain that it's available on this side of the pond too.

I've been looking for something to combat shine on my T-zone and I read some great reviews on L'Occitane's Riz/Rice line so I decided to check it out.
First of all, I have to comment that at the L'Occitane store, they give you a sample pack of the product you are purchasing so you can test it out without opening up the full size bottle in case you don't like it. How great is that!!
The first thing I noticed about this product is that it is lightweight and has a velvety texture. It spreads well so I only need to use one pump each time. Immediately my skin felt smooth and mattified. Before using this product, I would constantly be using blotting papers or powder throughout the day to combat shine, but I swear I barely need to now. I may need to freshen up by the evening, but this is a drastic change from before.
I definitely recommend this product to anyone with oily or combination skin - it's fantastic! I'm not using the whole Riz/Rice line, but I'm considering testing it out too. The price might seem a bit high at $30 Canadian, but it's absolutely worth it.

This is the first Consonant Body product I have tried and I'm a fan. It's 100% natural and 100% organic so you can be confident that you aren't eating chemicals when you eat some (which is inevitable when we wear anything on our lips).
When I first applied this product, I found that it was very solid and I had to put on a lot of layers to coat my lips as much at they needed. But after using it 2-3 times, it was easier to apply. I left my lips feeling perfectly smooth and hydrated - I've been using it on it's own and also under lipstick.
This is the updated version of Lip Therapy, which I hadn't tried, but apparently people thought the smell was too strong. This product does not have any smell, which is great!
I really like this product, but at $12, the price is quite steep. If you have very dry lips, it's worth trying out!

It's a small place at Richmond & Spadina in Toronto and only open until 5pm, so it really is just for lunch. They make the sushi fresh and they also have a few other options like chicken teriyaki. It's take-out style, but there are 3 or 4 tables in the store if you want to eat in (though I think it's too crowded and much better suited as take-out)
The sushi is really good and as a little bonus, miso soup is free! The most appealing part of Lunch Box is the price. I get 12 pieces for $4.
The service is also really great. They are so friendly -- one gentleman in particular is extremely friendly and you can tell he is always having fun.
I definitely recommend CJ Lunch Box!

I tried this product out and it's good. I use it on my T-Zone in the morning and I think it does a good job at reducing shine. I still can get shiny later in the day, but this product basically works as I expect a powder to work.
One thing I did not like is that it does not come with a sponge or brush to apply it. This isn't a huge deal since I had something I could use, but powder is something that I carry with me in my purse, so I like it when my powder has a little compartment to put a brush/sponge.

At first I thought it was a dry shampoo but it's not. The idea is that if you haven't washed your hair in a few days, you spray some of this on to make it smell fresh again, and then you re-style. It did leave my hair smelling nice and fresh, but you have to be careful not to spray it too close to your hair or too much of it or it will leave your hair wet again. If you are going to re-do your blow dry then this isn't a big deal. But I personally feel that if I am going to re-do the whole style again, I might as well just wash it. By using it sparingly, it added a fresh scent and didn't leave it damp so I could just quickly touch-up the style and be on my way.
I like the idea of this product, but I would prefer if it also combated oil like dry shampoo does.

Spring Rolls - Dundas West
I love Spring Rolls! I think they do a pretty good job of keeping as authentic as possible but still appealing to Westerners. They price is excellent and the food is always delicious. Plus the atmosphere is great and it's always clean!
