It does suck that they are not waterproof but I just don't walk in puddles or trudge through the snow in them (not that I'd do that with anything but rain boots anyway) and I've yet to experience wet socks!

I recently went to La Perla Salon & Spa for a cut/highlights.
At first I was turned off this place because of their hours. They are only open until 6pm on weeknights and until 4 on Saturdays. For people who work, that's not a lot of opportunity to go. I would have chosen somewhere else but I found a promotion online through LivingSocial.com that got my a cut/dye for $85. So I couldn't say no.
I was originally happy with the service. The staff there at the time was really friendly and informative. They gave me a bunch of tips to care for my hair that I didn't know about. I could tell that my stylist is really passionate about what he does. At first I was happy with the results, but after a couple days I saw my hair in bright light and I realized that you could see the break between where the roots were before I dyed it, and the colour was also a bit brassy.
My first reaction was that this was no big deal. I completely understand that EVERYONE has an "off" day and makes mistakes. It happens to the best of us. Although the location of La Perla is not convenient for me, I did have a good first impression of this place so I called to make an appointment to get this touched up.
Where I ran into a problem is that the stylist who did my hair only works one day a week, and I was only able to go in on a Tuesday afternoon. I thought that when I called in, I would simply make a new appointment and that would be the end of that. But honestly, I pretty much had to beg to get someone else to fix the problem! I get that it is standard at all salons that the stylist who makes the mistake will fix it for you, but at the same time, I assume that they are working as a team. On the phone I was told that I had to go in on the day that this stylist was working (but I had a prior engagement so this was out of the question). Then they said that he at least had to see it before they would even let someone else touch my hair. Then they decided that they would call this stylist and ask him what the problem was. I couldn't (and still can't) comprehend why they couldn't just accept that I wasn't happy with my results, and just schedule me in to get it fixed without the hassle. It really doesn't make sense to me why they had to talk to the stylist before they would schedule me - it was as if they needed to hear "his side of the story". I had and still have absolutely nothing against this stylist - in fact, I really liked him and probably would have gone back to him since the price was right and I liked the cut he gave me.
I expect to be satisfied with a service I am paying for, and I really have no interest in wasting 10-15 minutes arguing to get a new hair appointment. Not to mention this conversation left me upset the rest of the day. They also said to me that they didn't want another stylist to fix my hair because then the original one would lose some commission. Not only do I not care about what commission they make, but I also think it is in very poor taste to discuss employee salary/compensation with a customer.
So even though it took some time, I did get a new appointment and I am happy with the final results. The stylist who re-did my hair went above and beyond to correct my hair. She was very skilled, friendly, and informative.
That said, when I went the first time, I went with my sister and she had a great experience and was planning to return for her next cut/dye. But since the phone conversation left me with such a bad taste in my mouth, neither me or my sister will return. There are plenty of great salons in the city that do an excellent job and also treat customers with the utmost respect so I really don't need to compromise on either.

StickerYou is a label and sticker website. You can make custom labels and then they send them to you in the mail. You can choose your shape and colour, personalize the text, add pre made designs or logos, or upload images of your own. One thing that caught my eye is that you can make custom picture stickies - so you would upload a picture then place an image of a picture frame around it. Sounds pretty cute.
It's pretty easy to do once you figure it out, but I after I filled the page with the image I wanted, I couldn't figure out how to get to the next step.
I received some stickers courtesy of the brand, and I think the quality is quite good.
The price isn't bad - although I really don't know the going rate for this kind of thing to compare it to. But bear in mind that you must pay for shipping, which starts at $2.99 for 1-2 sheets using standard shipping. So that could bring your price up quite a bit depending on how much you order.

I really love the food at Freshii. You can customize what you get, so you get to choose as many ingredients as you want. There are some specialty items that you have to pay a bit extra for (egg slices, chicken, avocado, cheese...) but there's also a whole bit list of items you can add as much as you want of. I love that you can customize your meal! They also have set items, but even with those you can take things away or add things to make it an ideal meal.
It makes for a bit of a pricy lunch, but they give really large portions. You will definitely be full after eating here!

I got it in a scarlet red colour with sparkles, so it's perfect for the holidays. Avon has since updated this polish and it's now called Nailwear Pro. I definitely recommend it because the price is great

I wouldn't buy it again because it just didn't do what I want out of a gel. Maybe it would work better for someone using it to tame flyaways.. I got mine as a PR sample.

I tried this toilet bowl cleaner on the weekend and I thought it did a good job. I'd say it was equally as effective as other creamy cleaning products. The smell was pleasant and it didn't require much scrubbing to get the toilet nice and clean.
To be honest, I'd rather purchase an all-purpose cleaner rather than one specifically for toilet bowls.
I received my sample courtesy of the brand.

Pantene Pro-V is my favourite shampoo/conditioner brand because the consistency is always so wonderfully thick that is completely coats my hair.
While I do like this product, it felt pretty much the same as a regular conditioner from Pantene Pro-V. It is meant to deep conditioner your hair so you have less breakage - which means longer hair. After using this product my hair really did feel super soft and moisturized, but it always does after I condition with a Pantene product.
I probably wouldn't bother to buy this hair mask again, but I most definitely recommend the Pantene Pro-V line for anyone with dry hair that needs moisture!

I love this product. Sugar scrubs are my new favourite beauty product - after cleansing you truly don't need to apply body lotion! It saves an entire step in my beauty routine - how can I not love it! I actually noticed a few days ago that the skin on my legs was getting very dry, but after using this twice, they are back to normal.
When I opened the packaging of this product it smelled VERY strongly of candy cane - I was worried I'd smell like toothpaste!! But once I stepped out of the shower, only a light mint smell is left on the skin, it's actually very nice. One problem with other sugar scrubs I've tried is that they don't lather well and so you end up using a lot in one shower. But I found with this product that it goes a long distance.
I definitely recommend this product - although next time I would get a different flavour from Rocky Mountain Soap Company.

I got to try a PR sample of this product. I usually am not a big fan of palettes since they don't fit in my makeup bag but this one is just so pretty looking.
There are 8 eye shadows and one blush/bronzer combo. I like the colours of the eye shadow - there is a nice variety of neutral golds, browns, deep greens, and then brighter shades like blue. As I applied the eye shadows, a lot of the powder fell under my eyes. I also had to apply a lot in order for it to really show, since so much of the powder was falling. I didn't like how I had to re-do the makeup under my eyes and cheeks after applying this. In the packaging the eye shadows look really sparkly but once on, there is only a hint of glitter, which I much prefer anyway!
I really like the blush/bronzer - it has a nice warm tone and it applies easily. This certainly makes a pretty gift, but I wouldn't buy it for myself. Now, if there was a cream blush palette that would be a different story...
