One thing I strongly dread during the winter months is chapped lips. I've tried multiple lip balms and the Polysporin Lip Therapy is one of the best and most effective lip balm I have tried. It applies well and leaves your lips feeling soft and moisturized. Unlike other lipbalms that don't apply evenly, a little bit of this product goes a long way and easily glides on your lips.
It's perfect to put on before bed. You'll have extremely soft lips by morning. Since it applies evenly, it provides a great base for your lipstick. It doesn't dry quickly and is long wearing so you don't need to reapply as often. I also like the tingly feeling it leaves on your lips. The price is inexpensive and this is a product I would continue to repurchase over and over again.

I thought I would try out this cleanser since I read several positive reviews on it. First of all, I have sensitive combination skin with oily forehead and dry cheeks so it's a challenge to find the right cleanser for my skin type.
The best thing about this cleanser is the rubber scrublet. The raised bumps on the scrublet makes it an effective exfoliator and not at all rough on the skin. The small handle makes it easy to hold and the scrublet easily pops right back into the bottle so there's no worry of ever losing it. This scrublet can be used with other cleansers as well.
The cleanser is claimed to unclog your pores and make them visibly smaller. While it was effective at removing make-up and traces of oil and dirt, I did not notice a significant difference in the size of my pores. The cleanser has a scent which I'm not really too fond of but I like the refreshing tingly feeling it leaves on my skin and it lathers well with the rubber scrublet. While it leaves my skin feeling clean, it is a bit drying. I would have to apply moisturizer after using this cleanser. Also, this cleanser is very harsh on the eyes, so make sure to never get it in your eyes because it will sting.
Overall, this cleanser is average. While I like the rubber scrublet, the cleanser itself is not the most effective. There are definitely better drugstore facial cleansers. I probably will not repurchase this product.

I originally purchased a pack of Olay 2-in-1 daily facial cloths to bring with me on vacation. These cloths are ideal for travelling. I like that they are not pre-moistened so I can just put them in my luggage or purse without needing to put them in a ziploc bag first.
Since then, I have used these facial clothes every night to cleanse my face and remove my make-up. These clothes are really soft, yet slightly textured to provide gentle exfoliation. There's more than enough cleanser in one cloth to remove all your make-up. If it's just to wash your face, half a cloth will suffice. This facial cloth eliminates the need for make-up removers, cleansers, and toners.
It lathers really well and the cloth is durable and doesn't start tearing once wet. The cleanser has a light fresh scent and is gentle on the skin. Because it is soap-free, it doesn't strip off the moisture from your skin. It leaves your skin feeling clean yet conditioned. It makes your skin feel soft and gives it a radiant look. My skin is very sensitive and would break out once I try a new cleanser. The Olay 2-in-1 facial cloths are one of the few cleansers that has not made me break out. It's gentle enough to use around the eyes and since it's soap-free, it won't sting your eyes.
I have tried other cleansers but I've always gone back to using these facial clothes. I would highly recommend purchasing these. Definitely worth the price.

While I love the Bath and Body Works Pocketbac hand sanitizers, these are not the most ideal to use during the winter months since they make your hands even more dry so I use the B&BW;antibacterial moisturizing lotions instead.
These hand lotions come in a squeeze tube containing 2 fl.oz of the product. They retail for $4 each but most of the time they have them on sale for 2 for $5. What I love about this product is the fact that it disinfects your hands without dying it out. You only need to use a small dollop of the product and your hand remains moisturized the whole day. You can choose from a variety of scents. My favourite is warm vanilla sugar which has a sweet scent without being overpowering. These hand lotions are very compact, ideal for small purses and great for travelling.
I believe all the hand lotions are scented, so I would not recommend these if you can't tolerate strong fragrances. These are effective moisturizers and I will definitely repurchase once I run out.

A foundation primer is definitely a make-up must have and applying a primer is a step I don't dare skip during my make-up routine. Not only does it ensure your make-up lasts long but it also provides a barrier between your skin and all that make-up you're applying. My two favourite primers are the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer and the DHC Velvet Skin Coat Primer. The Smashbox Primer is about $35, while the DHC Primer is less costly at $25 but I have to purchase it online since there are no stores that sell it in my area. I have been looking for a drug store alternative and after browsing through several blogs and finding good reviews on it, I thought I would give the L'oreal Paris Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting Base a try.
For a drugstore product, this primer is a little pricey, retailing at $15 so it's best to purchase it when it's on sale. It comes in a glass jar which contains 0.5fl.oz or 15ml of the product. It's a pale pink color and has a thick consistency comparable to whipped cream.
This product claims to:
- smooth lines
- hide pores
- banishes imperfections
and it's silky, lightweight formula will leave the skin feeling velvety smooth, mattified, and looking flawless.
PROS
(1) Because of its thick consistency, a little goes a long way with this product. A dollop the size of a pea is enough for your entire face. While you are only getting 0.5fl.oz, the whole jar will definitely last you a while since you don't need to use a lot of the product.
(2) Application of the product is easy. No brush is needed, you can apply the product with just your fingers. It glides and spreads over the skin easily without unnecessary pulling and tugging on the skin.
(3) It definitely does smooth lines, hide pores and mattifies your skin. After applying, your skin will feel very smooth and soft, creating the perfect canvas for your foundation. Your foundation will glide on a lot more smoothly after applying this as a primer.
(4) Unlike water-based primers that require some time to dry after applying, this product requires no drying time and your can apply your make-up right away.
CONS
(1) For $15 a jar, I was expecting to get more product. In addition, it's packaging is not the most sanitary since you have to dip your finger in the jar. It would have been better if this product came in a tube or with a pump.
(2) While it does smooth out your skin, it does not provide coverage and does not `banish imperfections`. Unless you already have perfect skin to begin with, you`ll need to apply some foundation to cover up any imperfections and even out your skin tone.
(3) While it does allow make-up to go on easier, it does not extend the wear of your make-up a whole lot nor does it do a great job at controlling shine and oil. After just 4 hours of wearing my make-up, I can already notice my T-zone becoming oily.
(4) While it claims to be non-comedogenic, this product made me break out after using it only 3 times which made me resort to using another primer. I went back to using the product multiple times and getting the same result - me breaking out. This might just be particular to me since I do have very sensitive skin.
For the price, I was expecting this product to do a lot more. While it did smooth out my skin to allow my foundation to go on easier, it is far from being an effective primer. I would invest the extra money to purchase the Smashbox primer

First of all, I would like to thank ChickAdvisor for giving me the opportunity to review this product. I have not previously tried a rechargeable power toothbrush because it's pretty costly and I was doubtful on whether it could really deliver its promise of cleaning better than any other toothbrush including the Oral-B Spinbrush battery-powered toothbrush I was currently using. After using the Oral-B Pulsonic for almost 2 weeks, I would definitely spend the extra money to purchase this product.
COMPONENTS AND FEATURES
The package comes with: a charging unit/ stand, a handle with an on/off button, a regular brush head, a precision tip brush head, and a manual.
The brush also has two settings. In addition to the CLEAN setting designed for brushing the teeth, it also comes with a SENSITIVE setting for cleaning sensitive areas such as in between teeth and massaging the gums
THE ADVANTAGE
Its compact and slim design - The Oral-B Spinbrush I previously used comes with a fairly thick handle with a rubber grip allowing for a comfortable hold. I was a little concerned with the Pulsonic since it had a cylindrical plastic handle with no rubber grips. However, because the handle was slim and long, it actually allowed for a stronger grip and more precise maneuvers with the brush. Similarly, the slim brush heads also allowed easier brushing of the molars and more precise cleaning. In addition, the oscillating motion of the brush is superior to other power toothbrushes that only have brush heads that spin or vibrate back and forth. The whole unit takes up very little room, thus it's ideal for small spaces such as in an apartment or dorm room bathrooms. Similarly, its slim design makes it ideal to bring on travels.
It's rechargeable- You can leave the unit plugged in all the time and just place the handle back on the charging unit to always maintain a full battery. Unlike the battery-powered toothbrush I had used previously, I don't have to worry about buying extra replacement batteries, thus the Pulsonic is more environmentally friendly. The other con I found with battery-powered toothbrushes is that the vibrations are slowed with low battery power, thus resulting in reduced cleaning power. A full battery of the Pulsonic will also allow a whole week of regular brushing (2x/day), again making it ideal for travelling.
The Interchangeable Brush Heads - I like that it comes with two brush heads that are ideally designed for cleaning different parts of the mouth. The regular brush head comes with bristles shaped to countour around your teeth, thus it is able to clean better than flat brush heads.
The Precision Tip brush head is ideal for getting in between teeth and under the gums, again being able to clean better than other manual and power toothbrushes. For those who hate flossing, specially kids, this is an easier and gentler alternative. Cleaning with the Precision Tip brush head also fosters healthy gums.
Its Cleaning Power and The Timer- To meet the recommended 2-minute brush time, it is advised that each quadrant of the mouth is cleaned for 30 seconds. The Pulsonic gives a short pulse every 30 seconds, thus you will brush the appropriate amount each time.
I have been using the brush for about 2 weeks and have noticed the difference between using my battery-operated toothbrush and the Oral-B Pulsonic. The Pulsonic is a lot quieter and the vibrations are a lot more gentle on the teeth. Most importantly, it definitely cleans a lot better and I have noticed that my gums also look healthier after using it.
THE CONS
The brush is designed for use in the bathroom (with its very compact, space-saver design and short wire) and you can plug it in and leave the unit on a bathroom counter. However, I don't find leaving toothbrushes in the bathroom sanitary and I wished the brush heads came with brush guards.
My other complaint would be the short wire. Not all my washrooms conveniently have an outlet by the counter and it would have been beneficial to have a longer wire.
The 30-second pulse is very subtle and is sometimes missed. It would have been better if it beeped instead of the short pulse. Lastly, while the slim and long handle allows for a comfortable grip, I would still prefer having a rubber grip around the handle because it does get slippery if it gets wet.

By far, the Nivea Refreshingly Soft Cream has been one of the best moisturizers I have tried. It has become my go to item specially during the winter months when the cold weather causes my skin to become extremely dry. At $7 a container, you can't beat the price. You get a large amount of the product (200ml) so a whole tub can last you a while. This moisturizer can be used for face, body, and hands.
The cream has the same consistency as yogurt. Unlike the original Nivea Creme which comes in a blue container, this one is not as thick but just as moisturizing so a little goes a long way with this product. It's lightweight and fast-absorbing, leaving your skin smooth and soft. I have combination skin - oily forehead and really dry cheeks- and this product has worked well with my skin, getting rid of all the dry patches. It is non-greasy and has not made me break out.
Because of it's lightweight consistency, this moisturizer isn't just ideal for the winter but could also be used during the summer. In addition, it works well as both a day cream and a night cream. I do wish the product came in a bottle with a pump since it's more sanitary than dipping your fingers in the tub but I just use a small spatula to scoop some of the product out.
Overall, a great moisturizer. It is extremely affordable and works wonderfully. Highly recommend it.

This pressed powder claims to offer (1) lightweight, long-lasting shine control with natural minerals for a flawless matte finish, (2) to help minimize the appearance of pores. This product does live up to these claims and it has become one my favourite pressed powders for several reasons:
(1) IT'S INEXPENSIVE and VERY COMPACT. This powder is available at drugstores for approximately $6 so it's very affordable. For the price, you get a large amount of product with 0.49oz or 14g. It comes in a very sleek and simple packaging which is easy to store and is ideal for travelling.
(2) IT'S EFFECTIVE: This is a great all-over face powder to use to set your foundation and it provides a matte finish - there is no shimmer in this at all. It does offer shine control like it claimed which is ideal for people with oily skin. The powder is very soft in texture, it is extremely bendable and gives the appearance of smoother skin. On average, it has a lasting power of about 4 hours (longer if you use a base) and I have had no problem with this powder appearing cakey.
(3) IT PROVIDES A NATURAL LOOK. This powder doesn't provide much of a coverage or colour to your face, which might be a con for some but I actually found that to be better. The powder comes in 3 shades (transparent, sandstorm and silky beige) but all of them go on pretty translucent so you can't really go wrong with picking the right shade. Even after applying this, your skin still looks like skin and it doesn't appear like you have just packed on a tonne of make-up on your face. This is an ideal product to use during the summer.
There are a couple of minor cons I have about the product. Firstly, it doesn't come with an applicator so I always have to bring a brush to apply it. Secondly (and this might just be the particular package I got) the lid doesn't lock into place and I've had it open a few times in my purse but it's nothing a little piece of tape can't fix. Without a doubt, I would repurchase the product again and would recommend this to anyone looking for a good face powder.

I just recently purchased this because I have tried other Wet 'n' Wild products which turned out to be some of my favourites, so I wanted to give this a try. You get 0.12 fl. oz./ 3.5mL of a products and in comes in a very sleek and small container. The handle is the perfect size, it's long enough to allow for a good grip and precise application. The price is affordable at approximately $4.
I really love the tiny brush applicator. You get a lot of the product out without needing to dip the brush in the container more than once. Because the brush is tapered, you can create very thin lines which is ideal for those with smaller eyes. Having said that, you can also create bolder lines by putting the brush on it's side. It comes in a variety of colours so you can really have fun experimenting and creating new looks with these liners.
However, the liquid liner is somewhat watery and a little goes a long way with this product. It claims to be fast-drying and smudgeproof. It dries really quickly and has a matte finish. It does, however, still smudge. Also, because it's watery, it sometimes runs down to my lashes before it dries if I apply a little to much. It's long-lasting but since this liner is not waterproof, the liner fades once my eyelids get oily. If you really want it to last all day, then consider buying the waterproof one.
If I am to repurchase, I might consider buying the waterproof one but I'm not too sure if they have those in colours other than black. The price is great and the packaging is great but I would consider this liner as average since the formula is a little too watery.

Like many, I also purchased this product after reading all the rave about it on various makeup blogs and watching so many gurus on Youtube use it. My go to eyeshadow primer has always been the Two-Faced Shadow Insurance. However, at $18 a container (0.35oz) and me needing to use it on a daily basis and having to repurchase often, the cost added up. While I still use the Two-Faced Shadow Insurance for special occasions, I have switched to using the E.L.F. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer as my daily primer.
The Mineral Eyeshadow Primer comes in a small cylindrical container with a sponge-tip applicator (0.15oz/4.5g) in the shade Sheer and cost $3USD. Price-wise, you can't beat it. You can purchase 6 of the ELF Mineral Primer for the price of one Two-Faced Shadow Insurance and get almost 3x the amount.
It applies smoothly, goes on sheer and blends easily. It has a hint of a fragrance comparable to green tea but it's not overpowering. It's very small and compact, and it never leaves my purse.
Your eyeshadow glides on over the primer and as far as effectiveness goes, it definitely makes your eyeshadow more vibrant and makes it last longer. I have gone a whole 10-hour day with this primer and my eyeshadow did not crease or badly faded. I've actually gone back to using some eye-shadows that I did not like previously because they were not very pigmented and did not show up well on my skin.
If anyone is considering buying a product on E.L.F. (www.eyeslipsface.com) for the first time, this is one product you should purchase! This is a great buy and I myself have a few of these I keep as back-up.
