At a car boot sale in Sussex, three very different women in very different parts of their lives, meetup and fall for the same vintage tea set. They decide to share it - and a friendship is formed in the process. The story develops highs and unexpected lows of each woman's life story and how the tea set plays out in their lives.
Definitely a taste of English life in the contemporary village setting.

As much as the coffee house in the century home initially captured my attention, the depth of content is what captivated me. I loved the premise of a single mom developing a home business to make a go of life after being dealt a tough hand, but when supernatural realities invade the everyday, things got intriguing.
Filled with real life scenarios impacted by vivid descriptions of spiritual activity offering insights and perspectives to consider long after the multitude of stories ends.
Exceptionally written, I linger in the experience of the authors' fantastically imaginative scenes .

Book 2 Hidden Masterpiece series, A SPARROW IN TEREZIN, releases today, April 7th 2015.
I've had this one on my library reserve forever, anticipating an exceptional continuation to book 1, The Butterfly and the Violin, expose of WWII life for the artists and musicians interned in Birkenau.
Bound by a story of hope and the survival of one little girl, both Sera in the present day, and Kaja in 1942, will fight to protect all they hold dear.

Manhattan art dealer Sera James watched her world crumble at the altar two years ago. Her desire for distraction re-ignites a passion for a mysterious portrait she first saw as a young girl--a painting of a young violinist with piercing blue eyes.
Searching for the painting, Sera crosses paths with William Hanover--grandson of a wealthy Californian --who may be key to uncovering the hidden masterpiece. Together Sera and William slowly unravel the story behind the painting's subject: Austrian violinist Adele Von Bron.
Incredible contrast of Adele Von Bron's aristocratic life as a prized violinist for her homeland of Austria prior to life subjected to the cruelties of Auschwitz camp Birkenau. In a revelation of the use of musicians in the camps, I learned of an entirely new horror of war implemented by the Third Reich. Amazing debut by a talented new author, Recommended.
I anticipate April 2015's release of #2 in the Hidden Masterpiece series "A Sparrow in Terezin"

As Sarah puts the final stitches in her perfect wedding dress, she receives shocking news wrecking all her future plans. Heartbroken and humiliated, she leaps at a chance to make a fresh start away from her native Tullamore home in Ireland.
Warm story of a young twenties woman leaving her Irish homeland to begin a new life in a new to her world. Experiencing Sarah's tragedy turning to triumph as she takes tiny steps to embrace the freedom offered and the goodness of strangers. Sadness at attitudes and decisions along with costly outcomes in this portrait of life's changing realities during the mid 1960's.
A favourite part of this novel is the mid 1960's setting. Styles - both clothing fashions and furnishings, designers, shops, music and musicians; all well described, inspiring memories and reminiscing .
The ending offered sweet satisfaction - an extra swirl of icing on the cupcake!

Superb gothic intrigue and atmospheric suspense. Was anyone who they said they were?
Emotions and senses fully alert to decipher truth from deceptions mixed with danger.
was Rebecca's romantic interest truly interested in her? or the manor...?
Fascinating detailed historical life of both England and India, Ms Byrd's writing is richly researched, knowledgeable of the Victorian period and descriptive.
A winning combo that made for an engrossing read. First in a series, MIST OF MIDNIGHT has definitely whet my appetite for Daughters of Hampshire continuations.

Gripping account of two sisters of the one million children 15 years and under who were evacuated from London to rural foster homes at the expected WW2 advance of Germany. Emotionally intense between mother and eldest daughter, Emmy, as the decision is made serves to build on the drama and trauma to come. I couldn't put it down.
Not one to miss for any WW fictional readers. The historical research revealed is par excellence.

Captured by the evocative cover,
I was pleased to discover content offered as captivating a story for this WW 1 trilogy Of Love and War.
March 1918, we meet Livy waiting to celebrate her 20th birthday at the town dance. The entire story is gripping with romantic tension, wartime realities, and social injustices.
First in the series Of Love and War, readers are introduced to the Campbell family members via Livy's story. We are made aware of two brothers away on the warfront, one of whom features in book 2, Hope Rising based in WWI France, and due to release December 2014.
Book 3, A Hope Remembered, released March 2015.
Anticipating more exquisite reading, having completed this beautifully written first entry Of Love and War. Hope at Dawn has certainly lived up to its theme.
I full heartedly recommend Stacy Henrie's series to wartime romance fans everywhere.
A story and characters you'll remember long after you've reached 'The End' ...
