I received this mini as a birthday gift from Sephora a couple years ago. It's still going strong! I really like the formula; it's matte without being too drying, so it still feels relatively comfortable. The colour, however, isn't super flattering on me. I have naturally pigmented lips and this shade is much lighter than them, so it looks really unnatural. That being said, if you see Sephora offering one of these as a free sample or 100 point perk, you can't go wrong! -

They are so beautiful and easy to apply, while still never creasing on my eyelids! This formula is truly one of a kind, and I would recommend them to anyone who loves glitter but doesn't like how much mess its application can make. I just cannot justify ever paying full price--$31--for one of them. That's insane, in my opinion, for one shade of eyeshadow. Try them out, but make sure to find them on a sale!! -

I've been shopping at Forever 21 since high school. It's a decent fast-fashion store. I would definitely not recommend buying basics/staples here; just opt for the trendy pieces that you probably don't want to invest a lot of money in, just in case trend dies. They have clothes for literally every person's sense of style, so you really can't go wrong. Just be warned that these clothes are VERY low quality; they aren't meant to last you a long time, and that's reflected in the low price-point. -

I have never made a purchase through Sephora's website, but I online window-shop on it at least a few times a week. I like that you can make a "loves list" (wish list) when you make an account, so that you can keep track of the products that interest you. The Beauty Insider program is also great. If you let them know your birthday, you can redeem a free gift during your birthday month! The website is simple to navigate and is very well-organized. The one downside is that I have found the product images to often be misleading; the products usually end up being smaller in-store than how they appear on the website! -

I bought my first real bra at Victoria's Secret, and it is still my go-to store. I'm a 32DDD, so there are no department stores that carry my unusual size. VS caters to people like me, though! The store is always nicely organized, with all of the new/flashy products at the front of the store and the clearance stuff (my favourite!) at the back. Although their regular prices are astronomical, they frequently have sales that make it worthwhile to purchase from them. The thing that I don't love about VS is their salespeople. They are always super friendly, but they tend to get up in my personal space! I usually don't want to be bothered when I am shopping for myself, but since they are on commission they pressure you into trying on products that will give them bonuses if you buy them. I wish there was some way that you could shop there without being pestered by pushy salespeople :( -

I truly don't understand how the Lip Lingerie is rated higher than the Liquid Suede on here...this one is far superior!! I purchased Soft Spoken after hearing that it was a dupe for Kat von D's Lolita shade, which I didn't want to purchase because I don't support her stance on anti-vaccination and anti-semitism. I love this liquid lipstick! It's a gorgeous brown-nude colour that looks super trendy on my fair skin. Although it's matte, it is not drying like the Lip Lingerie line and feels comfortable on the lips. It doesn't completely dry down, though, so you'll get some transfer if you drink or eat, but I think it's more important that a lipstick is comfortable. Pick this one up if you get the chance! -

I own two shades of Nyx's Lip Lingerie: Lace Detail and Exotic. It's one of my least favourite liquid lipstick formulas. The smell is unappealing (it smells like cheap makeup). The wand is a good size and has a nice shape, which makes application easy. However, it is SO DRYING OMG. I'm only 21 but this lipstick makes it look like I am way older because it sinks into the lines on my lips and sucks out any moisture in them. Although they're at a great price point, I'd recommend staying away from these and opting for Nyx's liquid suede line instead. -

Winners is my favourite place to shop for fashion and beauty!! My favourite areas within the store, in terms of clothing, are the contemporary section (which has high-end brands for a fraction of the retail value) and the juniors section (for cheap/trendy pieces). The makeup area is often messy, because people open up packages and swatch the creams/powders, but if you find something that has been untouched you can pick up Sephora brands for a steal; think ABH, Nars, Stila, etc. It's the perfect store for whatever you're in the market for! -

I've been shopping at Dollarama my entire life. It's the perfect store if you're looking for something in particular, but don't want to spend a lot of money on it. I usually shop here for craft supplies, Wet n Wild makeup, and snacks (that I can sneak into the movie theatre, hehe). Their prices on candy and Pepsi are especially great! -

I'm a recent convert to Essie, but my collection has been growing rapidly (to the detriment of my bank account...oops)! They have a huge range of shades that mix and match with each other really well (I like pairing peach daiquiri with ballet slippers for a fun, girly look). Every colour I've tried has had excellent longevity and does not chip easily. Although I would classify them as my favourite nail polish brand, I have a hard time recommending them to others because of the stupid high price tag. $13 for nail polish is just too much! I've bought all of my Essie polishes on sale, and I would recommend everyone else to do that as well. Shoppers often marks them down to $7 or $8 (which is a fair price, I think), and they sometimes have them in their clearout bins for $3, so keep an eye out for that! -
