So what's so great about it?
Nothing really.
No bells, no whistles, no amazing anti-aging formula, no incredible brightening/whitening abilities, nothing….it’s just cleansing oil and that’s it. It’s the perfect deep cleansing oil. The texture runs a little thicker than my typical cleansing oil picks but it emulsifies easily enough and really offers a deep down clean. The thing that’s fantastic about it is the fact it never over strips my skin and after use I’m always left soft and smooth never tight or dry. Some cleansing oils, yes, Shu, I mean you, leave my skin feeling a bit dry and tight after use. I never have a hiccup with Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil. Many, many users absolutely love it because its so very gentle yet highly effective at removing light or heavier makeup even waterproof mascara. If you’re sensitive, or dry, or oily, it doesn’t matter, this is a cleansing oil keeper you absolutely need in your stash. Chances are, as any good beauty junkie, you’ll wander away and try other cleansing oils but once you try Fancl you’ll always come back to it and realize it is the supreme pick for cleansing oil goodness. You need this!

I love Korean and Japanese facial mists because they are considerably better formulated and way more moisturizing than the ones you’ll find here in the US. This is a gel type mist so it’s thicker than your average liquid based mist and has an essence or serum-like quality to it that gives it a very hydrating feel. Once I mist it on I tend to pat my hands on my face to allow it to absorb more fully. It leaves my face very pleasantly moist and quite hydrated. It does have a subtle fresh floral fragrance that might upset sensitive users. All in all this is a great little moisturizing facial mist. If you haven’t been privy to Korean or Japanese facial mists this is a good place to start. You’ll be quite surprised how much differently facial mists in Korea are formulated compared to US ones. I recommend this one for drier skin types! It adds plenty of moisture and leaves skin pleasantly plush and nourished! -

I had a little bit of a learning curve for the brush! Maybe I’m getting old. Finally after getting comfortable with it I was finally able to apply the mascara without have my lashes clump together. The formula seems pretty standard and pretty much like any of the ScandalEyes Mascaras I’ve tried in the past. No crunchy, stuff lashes, and a nice fringe of more natural looking lashes since the brush distributes a really light coating of mascara on lashes. It’s probably not going to win any awards for curling, lifting, or creating super long lashes. It does give my lashes some volume but not enough to get me excited Unfortunately Rimmel Rockin’ Curves ScandalEyes Mascara has an awkward brush that doesn’t really work to lift, lengthen, or curl my lashes. After a brief learning period I was able to get some volume and a more natural fringe of lashes but nothing as dramatic as what the new “broken heart” brush promised. -

I recently purchased Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover as I was running low on eye makeup remover. I dunno how the hell I run through eye makeup remover so quickly but I blink and it is gone. Since discovering True Dimensions Lipstick I’ve been throwing all my money at Mary Kay so I thought why not try their eye makeup remover could be good right? Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (3.75 oz) is a bi phase eye make remover that’s oil free. This is pretty much a run of the mill bi phase formula that removes makeup in a snap. It does an excellent job with harder to remove waterproof mascara and eye makeup. No real tugging is involved as you can saturate a cotton square, press it on your eye for a few seconds, and gently wipe away your makeup! It doesn’t leave my eyes greasy or oily nor does it give me trippy eye vision so I’m good to go. I dunno if I’d purchase it again because really on caliber with similar brands I could get at the drugstore for less but it is a fairly nice bi-phase remover if you’re doing a Mary Kay order anyway! -

It contains enough pigment to minimizes the appearance of minor redness while creating a smoother more uniformed finish so skin tone is more even and flawless. I feel like it acts as more of a skincare product than an actual makeup. Apparently the more you use it the more it’ll approve your overall skin texture. Although invisible once applied due to the sheerness of the product I find, like Urban Decay’s Beauty Balm, it still gives my lackluster skin a bit of a boost so my skin just appears brighter, less tired, and fresher. Unfortunately, the formula does get sucked in by drier skin so I can only get a two to three hour wear time out of as it fades away very, very quickly. L’Occitane Sublime Beauty Cream isn’t marketed as a BB Cream but merely a “beauty cream” and that makes some sense to me. For me it feels like a basic moisturizer slash tinted moisturizer. It feels quite luxurious to me (perhaps due to its beautiful scent) as the thinner consistency absorbs so easily into my skin and feels like I’m using some wonderful glamorous scented facial moisturizer. Coverage leaves much to be desired but if you merely wish to perfect and give your already good skin a nice even tone this might win a spot in your heart. However, those seeking the full coverage of a BB Cream might find it a disappointing formula. -

MAC Domestic Diva Lipglass is a medium pink (bit of rosiness here) with bluish and silver shimmer. It’s sheer at first but it actually builds fairly well on lips and gives a pretty pop of pink! It applies very smooth and even with a good deal of stickiness and tack that allows it to wear for a solid four to five hours on my lips. Sometimes limited edition MAC Lipglasses reach out and grab me to a point that I need to buy a back up but I didn’t feel like Domestic Diva was anything special. Maybe because when Summer rolls around I’m all about peaches, corals, and oranges! Pink just doesn’t seem the color of the season for me….! MAC Domestic Diva Lipglass might prove a hit for fans of pink gloss but as for me I didn’t really feel it was too unique a shade. -

The chaotic formula has what Maybelline calls a “teaser brush” which is basically a straight bushier brush that has a slight curve at the head. This brush is supposed to plump and “disorganize” lashes into a “sexy mess”. Umm ok? It applies pretty straight forward to me. The first time I used it I did get a little mascara on my upper lash line which I needed to tidy up with my trust Missha The Style Eye Makeup Speedy Remover Stick. But honestly, the several times after that I used it I never had an issue so maybe blame that little mess on shaky hands. There’s actually nothing chaotic or disorganized going on with my lashes as I sweep this one. It adds a little but of volume to my lashes but not a tone o length. It doesn’t clump up or create a gooey messy the way L’Oreal’s Miss Manga Rock does (I expected the formulas to act in similar ways but Miss Manga Rock is definitely the messy of the two). It’s pretty straight forward application that adds a little volume but nothing else dramatic to my lashes. The formula is waterproof but does easily remove with an oil based eye makeup remover at the end of the day. My lashes are a little stiff after application but nothing too crazy. It does keep curl fairly well but again I’m not seeing dramatic results with this especially considering the marketing is all about crazy, hot mess looking lashes. I had no issues with smudging or smearing on my dry eyes nor did the mascara flake.
Shrug…
Chaotic? Naaa. This one comes in like a lion across marketing but applies like a complete lamb. I wouldn’t say Maybelline Volum’ Express the Colossal Chaotic Lash did very much for my lashes sadly. If you want the gooey, spidery clumpy lash look you might want to try Miss Manga Rock instead as that’s all about messy! But the Colossal Chatoic Lash formula doesn’t relieved much of anything.

I have drier, straight long kind of wavy hair that tends to tangle very easily. I use this after my shower on toweled dried hair. I simply flip my head over and proceed to work it through my hair paying particularly attention to the ends. A little goes a very long way as too much makes my hair oily. You can gently stroke it through your hair with your fingers easily enough. It has a very light coconut fragrance that’s quite pleasant. The formula starts out thick and creamy but when you rub your hands together it actually diffuses and becomes more of an oil which in turn makes it easier to work through hair. I get a fair bit of frizz so this does a nice job taming it and I also find that I can brush through my hair a lot easier after using it. Typically I towel my hair off, brush my hair out, flip it over, work this through, and I proceed to re-comb it out with a wide tooth comb as this gets the product nicely absorbed into my hair. My hair feels smoother and softer to the touch after try down and it could be my imagination but it also looks shiner. I typically like using mist in conditioners but this was very nice. I see it being particularly good for those that blow dry their hair as it softens hair nicely on the dry down! If you have drier hair or you’re over processing your locks this is a nice leave in conditioner to not only detangle hair but also to soften and smooth it out! -

You can moisturizer the Hub, the kids, the family pet, and yourself with 3.4 ounces of Maracuja Oil. Don’t get me wrong, the large size is totally cool by me but smaller is sometimes better for travel and for keeping by your concealer! I like smoothing a few drops under my eyes prior to applying concealer or even mixing a drop with my It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer to thin the formula out while adding much more moisture to the formula. If you have drier eyes, believe me, a drop of Maracuja Oil will change the life of your concealer application. -

Take a pick!
Lush Mangnificent Soap is quite delicately scented. It’s made from fresh pureed mango and dried mango slices so it gently exfoliates skin with a soft lather. It contains lemon, mandarin, and neroli oil which gives is a bright, sunny citrus-y scent! It’s actually very, very subtly scented though so it has a soft, fruity fragrance but nothing too overwhelming! If you’ve always wanted a citrus-y soap from Lush like say Lemon Peel but with a little less fragrance I’m pretty sure Lush Mangnificent Soap is ideal for you!
