This has a creamy gel kohl liner on one end and a felt tipped liner on the other. Soooo I can start my look off with the felt tip and if I mess up I gently go over it with the cream! Presto! Instant correction. Of course, having both in one handy little pencil is a plus as I can use the kohl for a thicker liner and I can go a little thinner with the felt tip. I also also use the kohl on my waterline as well while using the felt tip on my upper lash line! The possibilities are endless and I just like the general idea of doubling my eyeliner pleasure with two formulas.
The kohl texture is creamy and easy to apply with a nice black pigmentation. It applies flawlessly without skipping and smudges easily but wears strong without flaking or smudging on my drier
eyes. The felt tip liner also applies equally nicely without skipping and has excellent ink black pigmentation with a long, strong waterproof wear yet removes easily with eye makeup remover.

These tiny little palettes include three shades of shadow each with an applicator to create a simple, easy smoky eye in a few steps. I’m of the mentality you don’t need twenty different eyeshadows to create one look! This little palette includes the essentials which are a highlighting shade, a lid shade, and a contrasting shade that can double up as a crease and eyeliner all in one. These come in two shade variations of a traditional smokey eye with colors of black and silver and a more of a brown taupe variation (love this one). The shadow formula is quite lovely at this price point. Velvety, pigmented, easy to apply, and blend out with a bit of fall out but nothing too dramatic. Color wears well with or without primer and doesn’t fade easily once applied on my drier eyes. The black shade in the Smokey Night Palette quite reminded me of MAC Black Tie! It was very pigmented with fine micro shimmer and a very soft, silky texture.
I liked, as I mentioned above, that each palette had three shades as it made creating a smokey look really easy. Simply highlight, add a lid shade, and contrast and define with the deeper color. Add a little mascara and eyeliner and you’re done! So easy and so cheap!
All in all Essence Smokey Eyes Sets are a really great budget pick up and make for a great travel companion as they are small, travel easily, and give you all the essential shades for creating quick, easy smoky eyes.

I’m a little yak on using the same applicator for lips and cheeks. I feel the same way whenever I use Stila Lip & Cheek Stain. I just dislike sharing the applicator between my lips and cheeks. The applicator is a larger sponge with a flexible head that saturates well with color. Surprisingly the formula is easy on lips even though it is matte. It isn’t dry nor is it hydrating and wears for around 3 hours as it slowly wears away at around hour 4. Pigmentation is excellent on these. They are bright, concentrated, and a little goes a long way. You can customize them as well for sheerer or more dramatic color pay off. Overall, the YSL Baby Doll Kiss and Blush an excellent product however, my dry skin doesn’t really love them. I thought application was a bit difficult for me. I think oily skin will have way more success! If they were a touch more hydrating I imagine I’d be raving them but since I find the texture drier I’m a bit disappointed. -

I got the darkest shade available from the collection and man oh man is it pigmented. The powders are a touch dense but not try in the least. I find the work best when used with a larger bushier bronzing brush as you really want to have something handle that can sheer color out as this product can be easily over done if you aren’t careful. The powder does tend to apply unevenly if you add too much to your brush at one time due to the amount of pigment that Sleek injected into these. So do start out by dabbing the powder slightly, blending onto cheeks bones and face, and building slowly! Once you get a knack for it you’ll find it applies effortlessly with each use. It really does add a very, very healthy tanned look to skin! This is by no means subtle! It’s as if I spent the entire day at the beach as it deepens my skin tone and adds depth and plenty of warmth to my complexion. The silky formula has a smooth, semi-matte texture with a very hint of shimmer that doesn’t translate to skin. It wears for a solid seven to eight hours without fading but removes easily at the end of the night. Needless to say if you’re serious about your bronzing looks this formula is outstanding for adding incredible warmth and radiance to skin! -

It has zero pigmentation. Sadly, I can’t even say that it brightens or even outs my complexion, two things I depend on TM to do. I have dull skin so I definitely look to my base to help my skin look lively and fresh and I’ve tried many tinted moisturizers that can easily do the trick including Laura Mercier’s however this simply absorbs super quickly and leaves behind a nice hydrating feel sans color of any kind. As I said, it would be unfair to say that I was looking for major coverage hear because no brand really quite gets that right when it comes to tinted moisturizer, nor should they considering TM is simply meant as a lightweight moisturizer with just a hint of color for more natural makeup. However, I will say that I do expect it to at the very least leave my skin looking a bit more flawless.
Honestly, this one wasn’t so fabulous sadly but I didn’t expect too much either which is good because that means I wasn’t crushed when I finally did use and dislike it. They definitely need to work on the formula in terms of adding a bit more pigment to the product.

This has a very light, runny consistency and should be applied using the included lip brush. It leaves lips shiny after the initial application and it sets to more of a lightly moisture sheen finish. It’s actually simply acting to add a little bit of moisture to lips so that Lip Tars apply with an easier glide. It does fill in the natural lines on your lips very slightly as well!
deal…
It won’t extend the wear of your Lip Tars. It won’t smooth lines due to aging, it will however, smooth smaller, more natural lip lines. It basically acts as a lightweight moisturizing primer that adheres to lips in a protective layer and allows your Lip Tar to sit a top it for a smoother finish.
Do you need it? Not really. You can probably get the same type of results from a light clear gloss or even a lip balm. Would I buy it again? Possibly. The consistency is just right to work with Lip Tars and it would probably take some hunting down to get a clear gloss as thin as this! It leaves my lips nice and “wet” and hydrated for Lip Tar so to some effect it is working. However, it is a bit expensive for what it does and it’s more of an indulgence than an actual necessity for wearing under Lip Tars.

This formula is very balmy with a slight stickiness on the initial application. Urban Decay calls them smooth and buttery but I felt they dragged on the first application but no worries as the formula warms up it becomes considerably more melty and balmy in consistency. The formula is thinner than the original lipsticks! You can’t confuse this formula with a lipstick as is in fact a lip balm texture but unlike a lip balm these have excellent pigmentation. There’s some translucency here so your natural lip color will show through with certain shades but with a little layering the colors are fairly opaque and provide very nice color coverage for a tinted balm. I happen to be a huge lip balm girl so I find these a step above and beyond your traditional tinted lip balm. I can get about four to five hours of wear from these as well which is a lot longer than any tinted balm I own. They do not have a taste or fragrance that I detect so if you’re sensitive that’s always a good thing. Funny as they contain a host of great ingredients but aside from light hydration I didn’t really feel they were super moisturizing but not drying either so I can’t complain! As we approach the warmer weather I’m all about lighting up my makeup and Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick pack not only excellent pigment but also a lighter, thinner formula that wears comfortable for hours on end!
I’m a fan of the original and you can count me a fan of the sheer version as well!

The powder is a bit dense initially but there is a bit of an outer shell that needs sweeping away. Use some tissue to rub at the powder a little and you’ll find it loses the top level of density. Now the powder is kinda an iffy formula for me. I’m not big on setting my foundation with powder because I have drier skin but when I do I want something that won’t cling to my drier areas. This clings! It also has a odd crumbly texture (as you can see in my swatch) that looks very dry on skin. It just has a way of not smoothing evenly into place and looks very patchy nad pasty on skin. The texture kinda sorta has some silkiness to it but it also morphs a little and becomes crumbly as you apply it. good look!
There is a very subtle unpleasant fragrance to it as well but it’s not something that hits you in the face when the compact is opened. You really have to stick your nose in the palette to notice.
All in all this one was a miss for me. I just didn’t like the way it performed on my drier skin. The texture is very odd and not particularly flattered once applied!

I find awkward and messy to apply it on a cotton pad and swipe my makeup off. My first pass over my eye it didn’t remove much so I had to go over my eye a few times to remove about 75% of my eye makeup. By that time I had tugged a fair bit to get off what I did and I was left with little chunks of cotton around my eye because the cream tugs on the cotton which results in a little puffs of cotton ending up all over my eye and lid. There was no burning sensation during the removal process so it was fairly gentle on my eyes however, it left me with cloudy vision. You have to rinse after anyway so I splashed water in my eyes a bit after the removal process to clear the trippy cloudy vision I had. At this time I looked in the mirror and realized I had raccoon eyes because the remover hadn’t taken all my makeup off. -

I find the bristles pick up more of a light dusting of color. I also feel like the brush shape isn’t quite ideal for the sharper contours of the face. Combine these two elements and I feel like I’m applying a light dusting of bronzer versus actually contouring my face.
There’s nothing wrong with the brush in the least. It’s well made, no shedding issues, etc…it’s just not the most ideal brush around for contouring work and that makes it sadly disappointing!
