I initially got this in a trial size from Ipsy. I was immediately blown away! I put it on my skin and within about an hour I noticed that my skin felt tighter and more supple. In the morning, I have a visible glow after using this.I definitley wanted more. Man was I upset when I found out the price! I got lucky and Ipsy offered a full size at a significant discount, and I went ahead and bought two. I'm currently on the search for a few quality products that are worth investing in, rather than a million "meh" products that may or may not work. It's going to have to be a pretty short list, but this is definitely on it. -

First, the Good: this gummy mask is kind of like a little science project. It comes with separate packets, and you mix the HA gel with a thickener in a cute li’l fold-out tray (the thickener contains cellulose and silica to create the gummy effect, see? Science-y!), apply it, then peel it off in 30 minutes or so. It was incredibly satisfying to peel it off in one jiggly sheet, not gonna lie. A lot of masks seem meant to give feeling of luxury, or novelty, or just be entertaining, and this certainly lived up to that! It felt super cool and soothing on my face.
Now, the not so good. I kind of think that it was ONLY meant to be entertaining, and the cooling effect was there to make me feel like it was "doing something." With it being hyaluronic acid based, I was expecting some immediate skin plumpin and decreased wrinkle visibility, and that just wasn't there. I really should have read the directions, because it says wipe off excess afterwards, and I was sitting there trying to rub it into my skin and wondering why it was so sticky. Oops! The real problem with that is that it means it's not something that's meant ot still be working - it's done when you take it off, and not much really seemed to happen. I bought 2 of these at an Ipsy discount, but I checked the site and they retail for 5 dollars each. I might buy some for a girl's night or something, because it certainly was fun, but not something I would elect to use again for beauty purposes.
So I reccomend it for the kinda nerdy fun factor, but not so much for anything else. I wish there was a neutral option!

The only reason this isn't a five star product is because of the overpowering smell! One of the ingredients is acetic acid, which is just the technical term for vinegar- and you know it as soon as you get it anywhere near your nose. However, the quality makes it worth just holding your breath and using it! I’m 36, so acne isn’t a huge problem for me, but I get the occasional breakout, and this works like a charm. It can be a little drying, but nothing that following up with a good moisturizer doesn't solve. It also makes my skin look fresher/smoother and my pores seem tighter. I would just prefer a less odorous acid for the base! I’ve found that shaking it really, REALLY well seems to lessen the stench. Or maybe I’ve just gotten used to it. Who knows? At any rate, I'll definitely be buying another bottle when this one gets low. I haven't found anything that works quite the same! -

Ahhh, where to begin with Violet Voss? The colors are consistently intense with plenty of pigment, to the point that I've become spoiled! Got a single shadow in a Glam Bag a while back, and it started a full on love affair! Their shadows always go on smoothly and vividly, and blend well - and this palette is no exception. Don't let the name fool you, these colors arent light and dainty, they're bold and adventurous. The color theme ranges from neutral and pastel highlights to deep and vivd reds and a brown with an underlying purplish tone. When you put these on your brush and swipe them on, you know you did something! The color payoff is immediate and strong. This can go from work lunch to date night, just add the bolder colors to your daytime base when you'e ready to glam it up. Or go bold all day - I'm not gonna stop ya! -

I bought this in a travel size because it's pretty pricey, and I wasnt sure how I would like it. I'm 36, and I have to be careful that makeup doesnt just highlight imperfections. I was mostly just loking for a sunscreen to wear under my makeup. All I can say is WOW. This stuff feels light and looks natural, but color corrects wonderfully - I rarely need concealer with it. I don't have to use foundation unless I'm going formal and need full coverage. This is perfect for day to day; I put this on, some mascara, and a peachy lip and cheek stain, and I end up looking younger and fresher than I do with a whole lot more product and time. I did a side-by-side with a competing brand that is supposedly at the top for aging skin, and this was superior by far. It doesn't budge, and has a natural but matte finish- no oiliness, no smearing, no stickiness. I can't reccomend it enough. The only reason I gave it 4.5 stars instead of 5 for effectiveness is that I really wish it came in a higher SPF. I'm currently waitng for them to have my shade back in stock in full size. Meanwhile, I ordered a couple more trial sizes to hold me over. I guess i shouldnt be surprised - I havent gotten anything by Tarte that wasn't top notch. The only products that beat out Tarte products are other Tarte products, in my esperience! -
