The Latest Scoop opened up in the Vancouver area as a pop up shop. They are a clothing and home decor (less) store now with 3-4 locations locally and 2 locations in Toronto. When they first opened they catered to a broad age range- but really a great place for women to buy stylish clothing for 20+ to 80's. with excellent price points. The sales associates were excellent at helping to choose pieces as you shopped and make really good recommendations. As new stores have opened, their demographic seems to be shifting much younger. Where once my entire wardrobe was made up of their pieces - jeans, sweaters, blouses, jackets and even shoes, now it is hard to find things appropriate. While crop tops (even dressy ones) may be in style, as a middle aged woman - they are certainly not for me. It seems their buying has shifted toward the younger market - their price points are increasing, and they seem to be edging away from the clientele that made them who they are. I do still find a few things, but so disappointed for women my age and older who find it hard to stay fashionable and trendy on a realistic budget. A shame. -

I seem to be a sucker for instagram ads. I tried the F**k I am Flawless concealer after doing the little 'colour test'. The colour that was delivered really worked! Of course, I was a little darker in the summer - but it really does match my skin tone - it doesn't feel heavy, and the mascara style tube makes application quick. I liked it so I went on to purchase a heavier coverage foundation for times I have to film on camera - and that works well too - I just don't like a heavier cover personally. -

These products ticked a lot of boxes for me. Of course, I gravitate to Canadian products, women owned businesses, and those products that are 'cleaner'. And who doesn't enjoy an online quiz? As my hormones have changed after pregnancies and menopause - so has my hair. So now I am learning to deal with really wavy 'curly' hair. I tried these products - Shampoo, Conditioner, and leave on curl treatment - in a small size first. But I also watched the videos to really learn how to work my curls. The shampoo works amazingly well - and with a very small amount. It has a nice mild fragrance, The conditioner, similar. The products are clean and FEEL clean. The leave in really helps define the curls (as long as I can keep from fiddling with my hair) but after a few days I do feel the product in the hair - so shampooing a bit more often now. But then before I didn't use ANY product for my waves, and it didn't look as good! -

I was first drawn to this brand because it was female owned, local (Vancouver), and environmentally conscious. But the products have me hooked. A great line of colours in their non-gooey lipgloss, great colour pigmented lipsticks that are not dry (and cardboard packaging!), and non smudging eyeliners. Haven't tried the new skin contouring pencils, but I am committed to helping this company stick around! Even their Thank you card can be planted to grow flowers! And 100% of the profits for their orange lipstick - released on National Day for Truth and Recognition - is donated to support Indigenous Women's education. -
