I bought this cereal toy for $3 at Walmart, and by the time my daughter and I were done with it, I definitely felt that $3 was all that it was worth. I certainly would not spend more, anyway.
So, if you just have to try the Nom Nums cereal toy, definitely make sure you find it on sale!
Pros:
- Cute Theme
- Cute character designs
- The spoon and toys themselves seem well made and they are cute
- Bathbomb/milk smelled nice
Cons:
- Regular price is MUCH too high.
- The little cereals themselves don't seem to have much of a smell.
- The packaging is not reusable.
- 11 of the characters you have to cut out of plastic and put into the bowl, while the 12th surprise is in a bathbomb in the spoon.
- The bathbomb is greasy. If you've ever messed with l.o.l doll bathbombs, it's similar.
My biggest beef with the Num Noms surprise toys is the fact that the packaging is always cute in concept, but made of disposable material! Just make it a sturdier material with clasping lids so I can keep it and store my Num Noms. Then it would actually be worth the price and functional to boot. Include a keychain ring so I can clip bowl of cereal and spoon to something. Kids would love it and so would adults.
P.S. It'd be great if these toys had a color changing function as well. That was one of my favorite things about the Dippables. That said, it'd also be nice if the bathbomb was in the bowl, not the spoon, and all of the bits of cereal were hidden in that opposed to having to cut 11 out. It'd make less trash, too.

My daughter and I opened our first Num Noms Snackables Dipper this Christmas! Admittedly, I think I was a little more interested than she was, and I have since bought myself two more. (Don't judge me.)
1) Series 2. I loved the smell of both the dipper and pretzel, and the dipping sauce as well! I was surprised to find that I needed to put the dipping sauce in the freezer for 20 minutes but I wasn't too discouraged either. It was really fun messing with the color changing effect of the dipper. I wish more toys implemented color change!
2) Series 1, and I had mixed feelings. The two toys I received were a cookie and something that was supposed to be a tater tot (I had to read the list to even figure out what the heck it was). The sauce was ketchup. None of them smelt pleasant. The tot was supposed to be color changing but it hardly changed colors at all. I even took an ice cube to it, and it just wasn't working.
3) Series 2 (It was on sale for $4! Which felt much more fair a price with the product being what it is now.) This time I was blessed with a kabob set, and let me tell you, I like them the best so far. I like the functionality of shoving them on the kabob! They smelled FANTASTIC TOO. I received a minty marshmellow bunny, and a pineapple bear... thing. They were really cute and smelled like they were supposed too. The sauce was a glitter bubblegum which I received before the first time. I didn't dip my color changer one in the dip this time, however. I went the L.O.L route and just shoved it in some icecube water haha. It worked great and the thing turned into a roasted marshmellow and I could have just died over it. It was great, though ironic given that I was shoving it in ice and not fire.
Anywho, point is, I think I prefer series 2 so far. It's been kind to me. The price is mostly right, and they're just really cute and fun to smell. That said, I wish there was a cool way to display them. Right now they just sit on my desk, but had the packaging they came in been a sturdier plastic with perhaps a flip lid and a clip, I could have clipped one or two to my purse. Instead, the packaging is completely unusuable and just thrown away. I'd happily pay $6.99 or a little more if they had a cute, functional carry case.
Other than that, I will keep an eye out for sales. I'd definitely like to buy more, and I'm looking forward to a series 3!
P.S. Since I've began writing this, my daughter has kidnapped a few as pretend food for her other toys, so that is nice. I'd still like a sturdier carrier case to display them with, though!!
