I had heard wonderful things about this mascara — it stayed on all day, didn’t clump or flake and came off easily with water. So I was excited to try it in my ongoing quest to find a mascara that doesn’t end up under my eyes at the end of a typical day. First impression was that I liked the brush and the amount of mascara on it when it came out of the tube. It didn’t look gunky. But - it clumped, even when I dabbed the tip on a tissue. As I’ve used it, it’s gotten a bit better and the brush is great. It gets the little lashes at the corners of my eye and my sparse lower lashes well. When it’s less clumpy, initially my lashes look good. The curl holds and they’re thick and fluttery. But the flaking starts almost immediately, and by the end of the day, even when I’ve done flake repair, my lashes look stiff and stubby and the flakes are smudging under my eyes. It does come off fairly easily with water — there’s just not all that much left to come off (and I apply two layers). Alas, my hopes have again been dashed. I won’t get this again. -

This is the first product I’ve tried with hyaluronic acid and I am impressed with the effects. My 57-year-old skin is smoother and the colour is more even and less blotchy. I do still have some dry patches and definitely need to use my regular moisturiser over it. I’ve been using it twice a day and it’s lasted over 2 months. I don’t love the smell, but I’ve gotten used to it and it’s a good trade off for my skin looking happier and brighter. It’s also a good price. I will try a few other hyaluronic acid products to compare, as this is my first, but I will happily return to this one if they’re not as good or the same. -

I tried this because I like the idea and scent of Palmer’s original coconut butter in the tub but it doesn’t absorb well into my skin, feels greasy and has caused breakouts. The coconut oil lotion, on the other hand, is wonderful — I slather it on my desiccated, itchy winter skin and it sinks in and calms everything right down. The effect lasts nearly 24 hours and I’ve stopped getting little bumps on the backs of my arms and ingrown hairs on my legs. Plus it smells warm and comforting. I always have it on hand. The body butter version is nice too. -

I wasn’t sure about this lip balm the first time I used it. I got it because I’d used some Burt’s Bees face creams and liked how gentle they were and how good they smelled. So I was surprised that the lip balm tingled and smelled more of eucalyptus/mint than honey. But it healed my cracked and bleeding lips during a cold winter and I got to like the tingle and flavour -
