I drink vanilla protein shakes every day, almost exclusively in the form of a powder mixed with water. I was really excited to try a pre-mixed product because I find the powders often separate quickly and get clumpy. I liked the texture of this drink, but didn't love the flavour. It was nice and smooth like a regular milk, but the taste was off-putting for me. It was very sweet, like a syrup kind of sweet and I found there was a salty aftertaste or taste at the back of the tongue. I also received the chocolate version and found it very tasty and had a smoother, mellow chocolate flavour. This drink was much too sweet and artificial tasting for my liking, but it wasn't so bad that I didn't finish it.
I like the benefits of the drink, it has a lot of protein and low sugar per serving, and is fortified with a lot of other vitamins, so it is a quality product and has major benefits, but I just don't love this flavour as much as I wanted to.

I was extremely excited to try this product because I work out four to five days a week and follow my workouts with powdered protein. I have tried various protein powders and while they are cost-effective, they often have a processed taste and separate easily when mixed. I really liked the texture of the Premier Protein chocolate shake, it is thick and creamy and feels more like a chocolate milk than a protein mix. In terms of taste, it is a little bit bland, it is not overly sweet, which is nice, but it also is not very rich or chocolate-y. It is kind of like a blander chocolate milk or milk with only a little bit of chocolate syrup. It still had a bit of the protein shake taste, but it wasn't off-putting. I definitely preferred it to a powder for both flavour and texture.
I liked the nutritional content, with 30g of protein, only 1g of sugar and 160 calories for a whole container, plus a lot of vitamins and minerals, it feels like I am putting nutrients into my body after working out. I like a high protein content to help reduce muscle pain after working out and this definitely kept next-day pain at bay. The drinks retail around three dollars per shake, so I think I would have to get this product at costo or in bulk to save some money if I were to buy it, but it would certainly be a treat compared to the regular powder I use. It is not only more convenient, but it also tastes better than the powders. I think I would buy some and save them for when I was not going to be eating soon, because it is very filling and it feels like a treat.

I received this product for free in exchange for a review from the Product Review Club. I am SO happy I got this product, because I've been looking for a great hydrating night mask! I've tried La neige and other products from Sephora and overall I've liked this one MUCH BETTER than anything from a higher end brand. This product actually hydrates overnight and leaves skin feeling SO SOFT in the morning. The product has the following claims: Does not leave a residue, Oil free, no rinse required, non-greasy, fast absorbing, hypoallergenic. I have combination, sensitive skin and had no problems with this cream. I did not completely agree that it was non-greasy, and did not leave a residue. The first night I used it, I used too much and it was heavy and actually started rolling up like dry skin on my face as I was rubbing in. The next night I used less and did not have any issues, but it does have a slight residue that is a little sticky, but not greasy like something like a nivea creme would be for comparison. I am so in love with this product - a little goes a long way, it has not caused any breakouts, and my skin feels so much softer and looks less flaky than it did before using it. I liked that the ingredient list does contain a lot of natural ingredients and I am actually going to start buying MORE aveeno products after receiving this and the in shower facial.
If you have chronic dry skin that seems to come back every morning, this is THE BOMB.

I received this product for free in exchange for this review from the Cihick Advisor review club. I loved using this product and can see myself re-purchasing once I run out. This product is meant to be both moisturizing and exfoliating. The product is creamy and lightly lemon-scented, and has small particles that feel like some kind of sugar crystal that are dispersed within the cream. I really liked the texture and creaminess of the product since I feel like many of the face washes and masks I've used are meant to suck up oils using clay. This is more of an in-shower moisturizer that you can scrub a bit before rinsing. I didn't think there was quite enough of the flakes to say it was effective at exfoliation, but it was still nice and it didn't feel too harsh like some facial scrubs (st. I'ves I'm looking at you). When you get out of the shower, your skin feels soft and clean, not tight I didn't even find I needed to use a moisturizer afterwords if I did not want to.
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone with dry and flaky skin, and people with sensitive dry skin because it was very gentle and added just enough moisture to not leave skin feeling and looking tight and flaky.

I received this product from Chick Advisor in exchange for this review. I received both the reduced sugar peanut butter and the lemon poppyseed. I have tried numerous other lemon protein bars and while this is my favourite in that flavour category, it still isn't the best tasting protein bar in general. The lemon-vanilla coating is great, but the filling is a little chalky tasting. It isn't as dense or heavy as a lot of other bars, but it is still something I might want to eat with water. It is one of the best tasting bars in general, and I do love lemon, but it is a bit dry and has a bit of the common "protein bar" aftertaste.
Nutrition-wise, it is almost identical to the chocolate peanut butter variety, but is slightly higher in sugar (still only 3g) and contains 20g of protein and 5g of fibre. As mentioned in my other review, it might not be my first choice in terms of nutritional content, as I do prefer Quest bars, but this would definitely be a winner for taste. The lemon is authentic and does remind you of lemon-poppy-seed bread or a lemon meringue pie, and the coating is light and sweet, like the glaze on the loaf. My only qualm is that the texture is a little dry, which is common with protein bars. It is also MILES AHEAD of the quest lemon bar in both texture and flavour. It is a bar I would look forward to eating rather than just eating it for the sake of having protein after a workout.

I would like to mention that I received this product free from the product review club in exchange for this review. I tried this protein bar after working out today and I was so pleased with the taste. As far as protein bars go, this is probably the tastiest I've ever had. It is light and fluffy on the inside and has an authentic chocolate taste for the coating. It did not have a the typical dense, dry consistency that most bars have, it was a lighter and almost cakey, and genuinely felt like I was eating a candy bar. With that being said, the actual nutritional content isn't as awesome as I would like. It does have 20 grams of protein and 5 grams of fibre, where I typically look for a high fibre bar. At 200 calories, it certainly isn't terrible, especially when compared to something like a chocolate covered granola bar you'd see in a school lunch. However there are still enough carbs (24g) and 7 grams of fat. This bar is reduced sugar but it certainly does not taste that way. I still prefer quest bars in terms of content, but this bar cannot be beat for taste. It is hands down the best tasting protein bar i've ever tried, and I think I've tried almost every brand available in Canada. -

La Roche-Posay Micellar Water for Dry/Reactive Skin is the Most Gentle Micellar Water I've Tried!
Note: This product was sent to me for free by Chick Advisor for their Review Club program.
La Roche-Posay Micellar Water for Dry/Reactive Skin is my new favourite Micellar Water. I was currently using Simple Micellar, but I prefer the La Roche Posay since I've switched for this challenge. I received the dry/reactive skin formula due to having very sensitive skin that often breaks out in rashes with harsh formulas (even some clinique products) or reactive acne. My skin is either breaking out or very dry. I LOVED this formula because there was no stinging or burning on any part of my face, even on my eyes, which are the most sensitive spot. A lot of other products give me a rash on my eyelids, however I did not feel any discomfort when using this products, and I did not experience any dryness or redness the next morning on my eyelids.
As for makeup removing effectiveness, I liked the product and found one soaked cotton round did the job for me most days, but someone who wears a LOT of makeup might need two. I felt that it left a little residue on my skin and I generally washed my face after using this as a makeup remover (which I would do with all micellar water products) but found that using this before and after working out was really effective at refreshing and cleansing the face just enough. I like to take off my makeup before working out with this and then using it again after to feel refreshed without stripping the skin. I find that this is enough to get me from after work until bedtime when I was my face fully.
When I received this product I was in the middle of a nasty breakout and while using this, I found it was cooling and calming to my skin, and I did not find that it caused any worsening of my acne and did not cause any new acne. My skin has since cleared up more and the Micellar Water has not caused any breakouts.
Overall, I like this formula most because it doesn't cause any burning or stinging when using it on the eyes as a makeup remover, and it is very effective, removing most of my makeup with one cotton round. It is very gentle and would be suitable for someone prone to rashes and eczema and does not feel like it strips the skin of any natural moisture. I like the size of the product and feel that the price at Shoppers was reasonable for the effectiveness and size. Even if I use this twice a day, it would still last me at least three months with the size of the bottle, which is larger than other brands. I would definitely repurchase this product.

I bought this for two reasons: my scalp has been getting zits for the last few months, and my hair is naturally very greasy after one day. I was hoping mostly to reduce the amount of zits I was getting, which were maybe three or four a week and were more painful than bothersome. I figured the clay was something that would help remove dirt and help dry out the scalp a bit or at least balance the oil production.
The first day I used this shampoo and conditioner, I thought my hair felt very dry and very much like it had a powdery residue as if I had used a bit of dry shampoo on it. Overall, it felt dry and was harder to comb through than normal. I wasn't happy but I continued. The second day, this feeling was reduced, and by the end of the week I have not noticed a residue on the hair anymore - it feels much softer. I don't know whether it just takes a bit of getting used to, but it seems that my hair has learned to work with it. I am still hesitant to go without washing my hair, only because I have had to work every day and want it to be presentable. Today was the first day I did not wash it and I did feel that there was a slight reduction in the greasy-ness of my hair. I still wore my hair up and used a pinch of powder dry shampoo at the roots, but overall it was MUCH better looking than usual. It wasn't stringy and the dry shampoo actually felt like it did something, which doesn't happen when I use regular shampoo and skip a wash.
I haven't noticed any NEW zits on my scalp in the last week, but I will give it more time for hormone fluctuations to see if this works. I like the smell, it is clean and not overpowering, it reminds me of something you might get at a hotel. I am prone to tossing out shampoos after a couple uses, but I am happy to keep using this one, even though I was worried about the residue from the clay.

NOTE: I received this product from the Chick Advisor Product Review Club in return for a review of this product. ------- I received this product along with some sunscreens from VICHY. At first I thought this was going to be something like an aloe lotion, but when it came I was surprised to find it was an oil product. This product did not really state it's use as an "after-sun" product. To me, it seemed more like an in-shower moisturiser or dry oil. When I think of "After sun" products i usually think of something soothing rather than moisturising. I appreciate the idea of it and the product itself was nice, but I don't know whether it should be marketed as "after-sun" because it doesn't really fit into a sun routine. The product can either be applied directly to dry akin or in shower and then rinsed off. I only used it on dry skin because I used it after getting out of the pool. I put it on after getting out of the pool and before going back inside because it felt like I had washed off the sunscreen in the pool and was restoring moisture to the skin after being in a chlorinated pool. I don't think I would use it in the shower because it would make the floor very slippery. I liked the product and a little goes a LONG way, and it comes in a pump so you don't use too much. I liked that it helped restore some oils to my skin after stripping them in the pool, but don't see this as a necessary product in a suncare routine. I really liked the smell, it was slightly perfumed though and might not be the best for someone with a lot of sensitivities to fragrance. I think I'll probably save it for winter when my skin gets dry and try it in shower at that point. I'd market it as more of an all-purpose moisturising oil rather than an after sun lotion, but that's just my opinion. -

NOTE: I received this product from the Chick Advisor Review Club in exchange for a review of this product. ------- This is a really nice sunscreen. It has a high SPF, which usually means a thick, oily sunscreen. This product is not too thick and did not leave a heavy residue on skin. It spread on nicely and did not take too long to lose that white, chalky look -- it absorbed quickly into the skin and did not make me feel greasy. I like the sunscreen a lot, but I don't think that it would replace my regular sunscreen -- Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch--- because of the price. As much as I like that it is probably much better for my skin, I do not have issues like acne or sensitivity on my body to justify paying thirty dollars for a bottle of this sunscreen. I did not burn at all while using this, and I did not reapply as often as necessary every time I used it, so I will say I think it protected my skin a bit better than other brands, but sunscreen tends to have a lot of user errors that cause burns. Overall, I really liked the product, the smell, consistency and feel on the skin were great and I felt that it protected my skin for a long time. I would pay 18-20 dollars for this product, but feel that 30 is too much for a sunscreen that will be used up very quickly, especially if it is being shared with others. -
